The Russian bees are doing a good natural mite control. Most people would be thrilled to have your counts with no treatments yet this year. Have a great day Gus.
Ah cool, I always wanted someone to take the dead bees from an alcohol wash and rewash them with Dawn to see if more mites turned loose and came off, idk if it would yield more mites, but according to the talking heads, it cuts the sticky stuff on their pads better, leaving only their mouth parts to keep them on the bees. Also please demo your Mason jar and hardware cloth method, I think it's ood to have an alternative method in case the plastic gizmo broke or got lost or busted, everyone can find a Mason jar or mayo jar they have the same threads, I use em sometimes to feed smaller colonies, like in a 2 frame nuk when I was banking some caged queens.
Always enjoy your laid back commentary as you go about doing your tasks. Lots of nuggets to glean!

Thank you sir there’s a good bit of effort that goes into it, but it does pay out.
Great demonstration Gus, you always do a great job at explaining exactly what you are doing, keep it up!
I think most bee keepers love to see those numbers and not treating all year pretty amazing.
Thank you it’s a lot of work but worth the effort. One of the best parts of beekeeping for me is seeing results from selection in my bees
You never said what you are treating with. You said strips. Is it Apivar?
Good bee working video, have you tried the Dawn Ultra solution for mite washes?
Yes, next video
