    For me it'd be
    1. Oil catch can
    2. Air box/intake
    3. Exhaust
    4. Rims tires and lift
    5. Bed liner

    • @MrInzombia

      rims and tires
      exhaust are not very cheap. They may take people some time to save up the money

    • @matthewr2361
      @matthewr2361 4 роки тому

      @@MrInzombia You'd be surprised at what deals you could find out there just some people don't look too hard to find them. Also I mean if you finance a truck over 40k and can't afford some rims and tires you probably shouldn't be getting into the truck in the first place. Unless you're shopping for a set of 5 rims that are gonna be over 10k.

    • @thisistheslam
      @thisistheslam 4 роки тому +1

      @@matthewr2361 Except that rims and tires don't always make a truck better or more utility-driven. They're asthetic. This guy at least picked up add ons that have at least some utility. The bed cover locks the bed down so you can store valuables there AND it improves MPG on the highways. The tailgate suppressor saves the tailgate from being worn down and the hinges wearing out, though it's definitely one of the least-necessary add-ons here. That latch to the access space behind the 2nd row seating is nice though I'm not convinced that's a requirement to access it (how the hell did the dude get them down the first time if they're not accessible... plot hole there). Weather mats are just a no-brainer if you live anywhere that gets rain more than once or twice a year. All of your suggested add-ons don't necessarily improve the truck's capabilities as much. Sure, exhaust and intake improve performance but those are luxury taxes to buying a truck that nobody needs whatsoever or they'd already be on the truck! I mean, sure, I'll take a wheel and tire package to make my truck look nicer but they're far from essential and most folks that aren't buying a truck for looks won't ever get them and they're doing just fine LOL

      @Matthew R I agree #1,2,and 5 are must haves right off the lot they protect your new truck from the start and promote vehicle longevity for sure! But don't get me wrong the others are must haves but for different reasons.

    A few comments:
    Getting that driver's side seat down the first time was a real PIA!! I have a Super Cab and there is almost no space between the back of the seat and the back of the cab. My arms were just way too big to be able to reach behind the head rest and find that little metal peg to pull up on. What I did was I got a large box wrench, I guess any type will do as long as it has the round part on one end. You need one that is at least 10 inches long. I was then able to slide this behind the headrest area and the back of the cab and then turn it sideways. I was then able to move it towards the driver's side of the truck until I hit the locking mechanism. It was then just a matter of hooking that metal peg and pulling up. It only took me a few tries and I got the seat released. Also, I found a small strap tucked inside the felt at the bottom of the locking mechanism. I have also seen people say they've found it just laying on the floor behind the seat. This little strap will snap onto the square end of the metal peg. It works but it's not a long or as nice as the ones you can purchase as you said.
    I also purchased all of the other items you mentioned, with the exception of the Taneau cover. I am currently evaluating what type and brand I want. I think I like retractable models and most likely the type that doesn't auto spring open.
    Finally two other items I would suggest:
    #1 - An organizer for the large center console in the truck. There's a really nice one that I got from Amazon and it's made by MX Auto.
    #2 - Center Console Cover/Arm Rest - If you do a lot of driving you probably always rest your arm on top of the center console lid. I found a really nice pad that goes on the lid of the center console and gives you a little padding with feels nicer, plus it protect the lid.
    #3 - I just saw these and ordered some but I haven't gotten them yet, so I really can't suggest any specific ones but these look pretty cool. They are small LED lights that plug into any USB port. So anywhere in your truck that you have a USB port you can plug one of these little guys in an have some light. They come in many different colors, so you can all the same colors or have different colors in different places. Relatively cheap and adds a little bit of flare to your cab during night driving.

      Sweet, thank you. I’ve been researching tailgate assists as well and going with oem after your recommendation. I also wanted truck bed lights and had 4wheel parts install them TWICE now and haven’t been happy with the 2 lights they chose to install. Now looking into Ford Dealership installing the factory bed illumination lights into the oval areas in bed. Just yesterday a Ford dealership quoted me 5-6 hours labor to install the kit due to having to cut into my rhino liner.
      Wiring and toggle switch has already been installed by 4WP. This quote seems high but not sure where to take it to now to have the kit properly installed correctly.

      You can get hard cover tri fold and soft cover tri fold covers for less and they're just as good. If you're going to spend $600+ get the covers that retract instead of the trifold - they're WAY better in terms of accessing the bed of the truck. If you're going to get a tri-fold $600 is the most you can spend before you get extra features/functions and they're rarely worth it. There are tons of places to get them, including Amazon but a simple Google search using the make/model/year/trim of your vehicle will show you what you wanna see when it comes to bed covers. I'm probably going to spend ~$350 on a tri-fold cover and it also locks - I'm pretty sure they all do. They lock by having a security connection to the tailgate, so you cannot open the cover until you open the tailgate which allows you to store valuables in the back and not worry as much about someone breaking in. They also help a bit with gas mileage because the tailgate isn't catching air over the top of the truck and adding extra drag so they're nice for highway driving.
