My scope (TDS-784c) has a strange issue, any advice where to look ?When I connect the scope to the Mains or use the back plate power button it allows me to switch it ON from the push-button in front. However if I switch if off and leave it off for a day then the push button in front doesn’t work anymore and I have to disconnect the mains first before I am able to switch it on again. I re-capped the Power Supply but the issue remains the same.
Apologies for the delayed reply. The problem seems to be related to power supply however there’s a small push button onto the processor board that have the same function of on/off switch on the front panel. If also that doesn’t work seems that the PSU standby circuit is defective. There is a PSU schematic on the Web somewhere that will be of great help.
Nice work!
Higher ESR means DC leakage as the component tester give higher ESR as takes longer to charge.
Excellent repair. Thank you for sharing.
Fantastic video keep it up
