The Steam/Disc version of the patch doesn't come with this launcher and you can run the game the same way you did before installing the smooth patch!

This helped a lot! Also the no intro mod cut down start up time from 40 minutes to 10 seconds (it was something I installed a week later than the rest and it makes a huge difference). There are a few other things mostly required to run Sims 3 like the launcher and game upon launching must have the set affinity of one CPU. Once on the main menu; you can change the game's affinity once it has loaded fully. I do find it amusing that Spore which is slightly older does not require this much but Sims 3 does.

A head of advice for Windows 11 players - you will have to live with setting the game to windowed borderless as bigger screen resolutions are not supported. Hopefully a fix comes soon for them!

I'm having an issue where the download button at 4:04 does absolutely nothing when I click on it. It shows the file name in the bottom left corner when hovering over it, but does nothing for me. Anyone else have this problem? Edit- Found a link on Reddit that contains the 2 folders and .cfg file. Will update after trying things.

Note (EA Version): If you buy and install a new expansion, you might have to repeat step 1 (GPU) and 2 (12Gen CPU) in order to get the game running again.
Having done all this I’ve found my launcher is very slow to open weirdly takes a lot of clicks to get it to open. Once I’m on the game performance is considerably better

I tried the Patch for the CPU but I get something in the lines of ''Failed to patch executable'' It says it doesn't have access to the file and cannot patch it as it is used by another process but all The Sims 3 processes have been shut down, I even restarted my PC.

Everytime i open the game and start playing, the screen turns white after a few minutes and something about the graphics glitches. I am playing on a MacBook Pro and I already fixed the issue with the graphic card so that my game recognizes it. I already asked in the AnswerHQ forum but they only replied that I should update the graphic card driver but there is no update I can do since I am playing on Mac and there is no system update available either. Has anyone this issue too?

What helped me was going to task manager, going to details on the launcher after you've opened it up, and setting the affinity to just one or two CPUs instead of all processes, and then click start on the launcher and once the game opens up doing the same thing in task manager for the actual sims game, and turning back on all the processes/CPUs. Hope this helps!!
Hi there I was in the exact same situation, what he forgot to mention is that u need to extract the files from the Eden lake folder onto ur desktop once it has fully downloaded. This step is crucial and afterwards I was able to Lauch the game through the smooth patch launcher. If this wasn’t clear enough don’t be afraid to ask me more questions

It will definitely run. I can't tell you what the performance will be, but since you already have all the packs, I think the easiest way to check is to just install them all and play test.
I did the adding of GPU, limited fps, had mod folder and nraas mods ready, installed smooth patch (said the exe file was a trojan) but still when I press play in the sims 3 launcher I get a mostly black screen (white line at the bottom) and another window saying ''Failed to start the game. Service failed to initialize (0x065d0274)'' and then when I press ok or close, it goes back to EA app. I used to play ts3 on my laptop (never had any problems) but now I'm trying to play on my brand new pc and this happens. Is there something I can do?

I got to the alderlakepatch section, and it worked, but then the bin folder did not have tse.exe it has TS3W or TS3, and neither one worked for me.

Followed the steps. My game is completely broken and refuses to start.
For the Smooth Patch there are 2 files listed as EA files but you only show an arrow pointing to the second one. Do we only download that one? 05:07

I don't think The Sims Medieval has serious issues, only the Intel CPU patch is needed if you're an affected player!

If you use Smooth Patch, you should turn on borderless mode in the config file :) if you don't, look for a free program called Borderless Gaming!

Launcher only shows sims3pack custom content. Package files don't show up in the launcher.

Yes, all the packs go to EA App anyway! So you can buy other packs via EA App and they will work together :)

Is this all possible to do on MacOS as well? I have a MacBook that I used to play The Sims 3 on and I'd love to return to doing that in a much more improved and stable version. I think I used to only have the NRAAS-Mods, looking at your list of steps to take
If you actually play the MacOS version, then nothing other than Nraas mods will be useful for you.
so i actually have a big question, if i cracked the game and i didn't buy it (i've had it since 2016 and it still worked till i changed my pc), when it comes to the gpu stuff do i have to use TS3 or TS3W?
Hi, I know this is out of topic but what do you think of Ryzen 5 5500, 16GB RAM, and a RX 6600 would run this game? I have all EPs and SPs and planning to install them altogether. Looking forward for your reply.
It will definitely run. I can't tell you what the performance will be, but since you already have all the packs, I think the easiest way to check is to just install them all and play test.
I did the adding of GPU, limited fps, had mod folder and nraas mods ready, installed smooth patch (said the exe file was a trojan) but still when I press play in the sims 3 launcher I get a mostly black screen (white line at the bottom) and another window saying ''Failed to start the game. Service failed to initialize (0x065d0274)'' and then when I press ok or close, it goes back to EA app. I used to play ts3 on my laptop (never had any problems) but now I'm trying to play on my brand new pc and this happens. Is there something I can do?
Nevermind, I found a fix. I had to go to "Documents" Open "Electronic Arts" and name my "The Sims 3" to "Old The Sims 3"

Hey! Your Video really helped me out but I still can‘t run the game if I have mods downloaded. The Game will instantly crash. My Sims 3 Launcher says I‘m on Version 1.356.3086… is this even a version?? I really hope u can help me with that bc I enjoy playing with mods
