I'm so glad the Sims 3 community is still active! I've been playing this game since 2009 and I still manage to learn a lot! Thanks a lot for your last two videos! They are really nice to listen to, the editing is great and I can't wait to see the next ones (if there are any planned) Oh and by the way, can I ask you if you have the reference of the loading screen that we can see at 0:14? It's beautiful :)
Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoy my content :) The loading screen is my own, I modified an existing mod. You can find the link on my Twitter, just search for “loading screen”. But it was never meant to be published, so it might not work for you the way it works for me.
some of these secrets made my jaw drop. i've been playing sims 3 since the day the base game released all the way back in 2009 and i had no idea about some of these. the low foundation one in particular is going to be a game changer, i've been using platforms as low platforms for YEARS! and the disabling object fade cheat is so great, i've always hated how some things disappear on me when i get too close! thank you for this video
4 years after the release of the sims 4, k stopped playing it and switched to the sims 3. Ts4 was the first sims game when I finally had a laptop that could handle sims games (my first computer i got in 2011 and it was a laptop because those you can take with you when you travel and can study on them) it was a year or two after ts4 release and I struggled choosing between ts3 and ts4 but I picked ts4. I regret every coin spent on this game. It has its pro's (mods easy to manage, CC examining programmes, easier building) but those are not worth the cons, heavily overpriced (not as much as the store but...) and its kind of reperetive compared to ts3, also lacks some fun features (they try to bring back them from time to time, like they did with rabbit hole cinema)
Definitely not enough people know that pressing F10 hides the whole interface, so you can record landscapes without any notifications interrupting the view! And also still use the mouse in no-interface view without Tab. The number of things given to a Sim, changing edge colors and rotating camera on Tab was a wow to me :O
Still playing the sims 3 upto this day. I am almost 27 and i grew up with the sims 2 at first and when the sims 3 came out i was skeptic. Later on i had a stupid moment and got sold all of my sims 2 (i needed money). Nowadays i am soooo sad i sold all of those 😭 i am seeint so many videos of features and facts i never knew about as a kid!
I always wondered why creat a style tool was so dang laggy when switching between modes. That makes a ton more sense now actually that it has so many hidden drag and drop features 😅
I am a hardcore Sims 2 fan but I have played Sims 3 a bit too and wow I am just floored! They added sooo many amazing hotkeys and easy ways to use build/buy. Absolutely love that you can drag and drop styles like that, wow! Awesome video, really enjoyed this!
About the foundation trick, there is a similar trick that would let you raise the terrain at a desired height relative to wall height. If you raise the terrain between two rooms, you can use the flatten tool on the roof level of the rooms and the terrain will be at wall height, minus the height of an alt-placed foundation or platform. From there, you can change the height of the terrain by placing stairs. Holding shift and dragging when placing stairs on terrain let you choose how shallow or steep the steps is. Also, holding alt while placing stairs let you place 1 single step. Bonus for CAW users: Do you know that you can use the flatten tool to match the terrain height of a lot to your world?
been playing the sims franchise since the first one came out and didn't know some of the things you showed in this video. awesome to learn new things about a game that will never get old.
Omg, played this game since its launch and I had no idea about the first tip as well as many others. This is by far the best Sims 3 tips video I’ve seen. Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much for the friezes cheat!!! I just knew the devs didn't use the complicated workaround with the terrain tool that we see in every video! Of course they had a direct command
I've seen friezes on some buildings and always wondered how it was done, I used to build some walls and change their heights with "constraintfloorelevation false" but it was so expensive and unpractical... I'm sooo happy !!! :D
The floor edge colour thing, I found a new favour I hadn't really considered before, when I recoloured the side of a deck. I frequently used it when making basements, as I like painting the outside of basements to totally black, so the edge needs to be blacked out too.
Something that I never see in these tips about create-a-style is the little color “pips”. You can drag them the same way as the square swatches, only instead of replacing it, it replaces the channel! So if you like the color of something but want a different texture, you can just drag the color over. It is really useful for wallpapers, cabinets and anything else that uses metal/wooden textures!
Im actually new to the pc version of the sims 3, i got it for my 18th birthday along with seasons, supernatural, university, and into the future off of steam which means sadly i dont have the quantum suit that you get from the limited edition version of into the future that you get from the retail version (disc) but its good to know several of these tips and tricks because i use to play the wii version of the sims 3. The one where you can actually controll the sim with the wii nunchuk which was epic but then i got sims 4 for free after it became free on steam which is very different from 3 because 1 TS4 has no open world which sucks 2 unlike 3 you have actual moods which is very confusing half of the damn time.
This video was awesome!. Very helpful tips. I've been playing this game for so long and I'm still learning so many new things, especially the build tips and the inventory one. Also the dragging the CAST preset while holding shift for changing the entire wall is a life changer. Thanks for sharing btw do you know how can I find that loading screen at the beginning of the video? can you tell me what to google?
Thank you! I’m learning a lot of new things too! The game is huge. The loading screen is my own, I modified an existing mod. You can find the link on my Twitter, just search for “loading screen”. But it was never meant to be published, so it might not work for you the way it works for me.
Seriously what’s with the Grim Reaper? They need to get rid of that. They should come up with an alternative like if the person to login throughout their life, they do an angel and if they do like bad things throughout the life, they get a werewolf or vampire something other than the Grim Reaper.
I've been playing since the pandemic and knew none of this! Had to pull out my notebook. The adjusting relationships and job performance feels illegal to know. But adjusting the needs 1 by 1 has SAVED ME from "Make All Happy". Hated using that since it affected everyone. Thanks yooou😊
It's been a long time since I played Sims 3, I knew something and then forgot it, but some things are totally new to me, for example, I've never changed baby clothes, usually I can't wait for them to grow up!😅
I finally played sims 3 as it’s the only one I missed and I like it so far except for the camera rotation is on the menu instead of the mouse like on sims 4. It’s annoying but other then that I’ve been enjoying it.
I don't understand the wall item adjustment. This video and everywhere else i look online says to hold down the left mouse button and an arrow will appear but that doesn't happen for me. When I hold down the left mouse button the item just keeps changing direction. I can't move it up and down the wall. It's incredibly frustrating because I could really use the ability to adjust the placement of an item on a wall. It's annoyances like this that make me prefer Sims 4 even though 3 is more fun.
Whereas in the Sims 2 you can drag skills, personality, interests and hobby enthusiasm (if you have FreeTime) sadly you cannot drag skills in the Sims 3 or anything in the sims 4.
I wonder if I have some mod already fixing it because I seriously use these cheats and objects all the time and never noticed anything like this and I do play with aging on! 🤔

The only cool thing about sims 4 is that resize tool, you can make a TV absolutely Gigantic. or did they remove that? :/
