I'm Chinese 70 years old and have lived in Malaysia for the 1st 20 years and in Oz for the past 50 years. Even in the early days when China was regarded as the "sick man of Asia", the Chinese stood apart and did not want to integrate with locals in any country. In Malaysia, everyone else was "kui", or "devil". Many mainland and overseas Chinese rejoice in the re-emergence of China as a world power, but the CCP is not China. The CCP and many Chinese men feel so insecure and carry such gigantic chips on their shoulders that they look for any opportunity to prove their new superiority! Xi Jingping has surrounded himself with Yesmen taking China into collision course with a Coalition of nations. I fear it will lead to war, but it's time the democratic countries stop appeasing China and stand their ground. From what I understand, there is *some* degree of freedom of speech as long as it doesn't present any real threat to the state/CPC. People routinely criticize corruption and other problems on Chinese social media, and it doesn't get deleted or get you in trouble so long as you stay away from the growing list of No-No Topics™️ (e.g. 1989 protests, Hong Kong, Xi Xinpoo, etc.) or criticize the Chinese system of government as a whole. If you're a CPC member or otherwise elite member of Chinese society, you have greater freedom than average citizens. In the last few years, Xi has consolidated power and restricted free speech somewhat more. Take that with a big grain of salt, I am a westerner who has never been to China and I only know a little bit from reading various different perspectives on Chinese freedom of speech.

So yes they were cowards not to mention atrocities done to the civilian population. The invasion of Poland from the soviet side was not done out of cowardice but out of the need for time to prepare. Stalin new that war with Nazi Germany was inevitable however it was also clear that if they didn't have a buffer zone (Poland) between the border of Russia and Nazi controlled territory then Russia would be very easily defeated as its millitary was very weak due to Stalin's purge of good officers in 1937. The Red army stood alone against the full might of the highly trained and well equipped Germans and if it weren't for the Russians bravery and incredible resilience to the Germans it is very easy to say that we would probably be speaking German now. Russia sacrificed a huge amount during the war surpassing 30million deaths at the hands of the Germans which is far more than any other country, yet they never surrendered and eventually beat the Germans. Also to say that the Nazi's would just shoot you rather than burning you alive is again completely false, you must have never heard what happened in Belarus where 628 villages were entirely burnt to the ground were all their inhabitants were shoved into houses and then burnt alive, no one was spared. Part of the reason of the Red Army's brutality on their way to Berlin was in retaliation to the treatment received from the Nazis. I am in no way a supporter of communist regimes nor trying to defend the atrocities committed during the war. However I am just trying to show how ignorant it is to say that the Red Army were cowards, when we owe so much to the men and women who gave their lives fighting against the Nazi empire.

On that point we sheed no tears or symphaty at all towards Russians nor their later attempts to fight the nazis later on. Ive been watching you and Cmilks videos for about a year now. I've been traveling to China, mainly SZ, for about 3 years, spending about 2-3 months out of the year here. I want to personally thank you for helping myself and other foreigners navigate the landscape. Without advice from the two of you, I very well may have accidentally landed myself in some troubling situations. What your "biggest fans" don't seem to understand is that you two are a blessing to China. You teach foreigners how to conduct themselves respectfully inside a culture and Nation that is not their own. You two are brave souls, and I appreciate the risks you take. I hope that one day while I'm here, I'll run across one of you and I can shake your hand and express that gratitude personally. No scams, or any inconvenience...what so ever! LITERALLY!!! Hank Rutherford Hill actually it was vary nice. Parts of it should be in a zombie apocalypse movie. The guide who escorted us was super friendly and let us explore most most of the city. My wife, and almost all my friends are Chinese nationals, however this last year has been very different and my kids have been threatened to be kicked out of school, I've been threatened to be kicked out, and my wife has been threatened for being married to a foreigner. The nationalism pride I understand and think it's great to love your country, however threatening others because if different ideologies is sick and has become a big problem here. I'm actually considering leaving here because of this even though I own a company here, hire Chinese and pay them well, we have been accused of disgusting things just because of being a foreigner. It's actually become quite frightening.
Remember there are some 50,000,000 overseas Chinese, including several million in Anglosphere countries. If they push too far, things will get very, very ugly for those overseas Chinese in the Anglosphere. Very ugly indeed! I'm Chinese 70 years old and have lived in Malaysia for the 1st 20 years and in Oz for the past 50 years. Even in the early days when China was regarded as the "sick man of Asia", the Chinese stood apart and did not want to integrate with locals in any country. In Malaysia, everyone else was "kui", or "devil".
Many mainland and overseas Chinese rejoice in the re-emergence of China as a world power, but the CCP is not China. The CCP and many Chinese men feel so insecure and carry such gigantic chips on their shoulders that they look for any opportunity to prove their new superiority!
Xi Jingping has surrounded himself with Yesmen taking China into collision course with a Coalition of nations. From what I understand, there is *some* degree of freedom of speech as long as it doesn't present any real threat to the state/CPC.
People routinely criticize corruption and other problems on Chinese social media, and it doesn't get deleted or get you in trouble so long as you stay away from the growing list of No-No Topics™️ (e.g. 1989 protests, Hong Kong, Xi Xinpoo, etc.) or criticize the Chinese system of government as a whole. If you're a CPC member or otherwise elite member of Chinese society, you have greater freedom than average citizens. In the last few years, Xi has consolidated power and restricted free speech somewhat more.
Take that with a big grain of salt, I am a westerner who has never been to China and I only know a little bit from reading various different perspectives on Chinese freedom of speech.

So yes they were cowards not to mention atrocities done to the civilian population. The invasion of Poland from the soviet side was not done out of cowardice but out of the need for time to prepare. Stalin new that war with Nazi Germany was inevitable however it was also clear that if they didn't have a buffer zone (Poland) between the border of Russia and Nazi controlled territory then Russia would be very easily defeated as its millitary was very weak due to Stalin's purge of good officers in 1937. The Red army stood alone against the full might of the highly trained and well equipped Germans and if it weren't for the Russians bravery and incredible resilience to the Germans it is very easy to say that we would probably be speaking German now. Russia sacrificed a huge amount during the war surpassing 30million deaths at the hands of the Germans which is far more than any other country, yet they never surrendered and eventually beat the Germans. Also to say that the Nazi's would just shoot you rather than burning you alive is again completely false, you must have never heard what happened in Belarus where 628 villages were entirely burnt to the ground were all their inhabitants were shoved into houses and then burnt alive, no one was spared. Part of the reason of the Red Army's brutality on their way to Berlin was in retaliation to the treatment received from the Nazis. I am in no way a supporter of communist regimes nor trying to defend the atrocities committed during the war. However I am just trying to show how ignorant it is to say that the Red Army were cowards, when we owe so much to the men and women who gave their lives fighting against the Nazi empire.

So no - Ribbentrop pact was not just a tactical manouver to get time alone - there was that humiliation thing that Polish ppl dished out to commies and they were itching for payback thus backstabing another nation was an act of both Betreyal and cowardice and with malice in mind.
As for Russian resistance against Nazis - after what they did to us in 1939 from our point of view them getting later slaughtered by nazis was an act of poetic justice - They willingly consipred with the bigger enemy to kill our nation - so from our point of view it served them right to be slaughtered by them in return as well. On that point we sheed no tears or symphaty at all towards Russians nor their later attempts to fight the nazis later on. They were facing the monster they not only helped to create (Because intitially communists have been opting to put hitler in power (they saw him as week and thought he would be easy to deal with later)) but nurished it as well (It was Russians who helped initially to train Nazi armies despite the Versile Treaty) so again we see that as a poetic justice. They were being killed by the monster of their own making.
Should Russians joined us in trying to repel the Nazis- we would hail them as heroes and it would probably mended old wounds (even if that should prove futile in the end) - instead not only they have became backstabbing traitors and cowards but in the end it bought them nothing in terms of value - They got wrecked by nazis like by the wrecking ball soon after anyway.
Heck Russians continue that tradition of backstabbing other countries up to this time as well - For eg Ukraine handed over their post soviet nukes to Russia for the guaranties of safety on their part in the ninties - and guess what - they backstabbed Ukraine as well by lately occuping Ukrainian Krymean penisula and literally tearing it away in 2014. So no - they have not learned anything since WWII they are still backstabbing cowards.
As for nazis burning villages in the east - while tragic it still doesnt validate Russians again treating US like trash when they pushed west during later years of the war - if anything it only proves they still held us (as Polish people) in contempt - i can understand them taking revenge on Nazis/Germans - but on us ? No - they were cowards, traitors and butchers and that is how we remember them and that is a reputation they worked hard to earn. I do not dispute actions or combat heroism of individual soldiers on that account i give them credit where credit is due - That said i look on this from a perspective of a bigger picture and in that regard they (as russian army) look bleak at best. And ofc we dont give them any extra points for later occupation after the war of our lands too. So even when they were pushing west - they were not heroes who fought nazis to liberate us - They fought nazis to replace them as occupants - and this we won't forget nor forgive.

Ive been watching you and Cmilks videos for about a year now. I've been traveling to China, mainly SZ, for about 3 years, spending about 2-3 months out of the year here. I want to personally thank you for helping myself and other foreigners navigate the landscape. Without advice from the two of you, I very well may have accidentally landed myself in some troubling situations. What your "biggest fans" don't seem to understand is that you two are a blessing to China. You teach foreigners how to conduct themselves respectfully inside a culture and Nation that is not their own. You two are brave souls, and I appreciate the risks you take. I hope that one day while I'm here, I'll run across one of you and I can shake your hand and express that gratitude personally. Many of the negative points you pointed out about China are unfortunately mostly true about Thailand, Thai society, and its culture as well :( When I had first returned to Thailand in 2008 after having lived in the US for almost 30 years, I had felt shocked the same way like what you had experienced in China throughout your time there. I wouldn't say that Thailand is anywhere near as bad as the "twilight zone" known as mainland China, but I still had the similar feeling of having my morality and everything I believed in ethically flipped upside down especially when I first moved back to Thailand as an adult. Real men just don't do things like that, they wouldn't cower in the anonymous safety of a mob and do their dirty work. A REAL man would have the courage to stand alone, give his name, and just state his objections - not engage in silly, childish spitefulness. It sounds as if they have absolutely no sense of how to be real men. They are an embarrassment to China, like the unruly tourists who go to Paris and pee on the street, or otherwise just don't know how to behave in a civilized, courteous manner with consideration of others in mind.

My wife, and almost all my friends are Chinese nationals, however this last year has been very different and my kids have been threatened to be kicked out of school, I've been threatened to be kicked out, and my wife has been threatened for being married to a foreigner. The nationalism pride I understand and think it's great to love your country, however threatening others because if different ideologies is sick and has become a big problem here. I'm actually considering leaving here because of this even though I own a company here, hire Chinese and pay them well, we have been accused of disgusting things just because of being a foreigner. It's actually become quite frightening.

I know this is a year old, I'm a new fan and this repulsed me enough to comment in support. It's shocking to know that even if these insane threats are empty that you still had to carefully consider them and protect yourself and that is just a human problem, the envious being cruel no matter what country you are in.
