Great video on a great watch. For me, it’s 35mm quartz all day long. I have a 7.5 inch wrist, but I really feel prefer the look of a smaller dress watch or casual sporty watch. I’ve also always felt there was nothing wrong with bigger wristed people wearing smaller watches. I’ve worn the prx in 40mm and just felt it looked a little too out of proportion in that size…..as for the movement, I’m a huge lover of quartz, and in this case the original prx from the 70s was also quartz. As were other famous 70s integrated designs (i.e. oysterquartz), so I’m all about staying true to that period in aesthetic and functionality.
The biggest issue I've seen with the quartz is that it fails to hit the markers on the watch and for the price of this watch it really should be hitting those markers. I think I'd rather have the mechanical version of this watch just because of that alone.
@@ThiHaGadgets I have a $60 timex weekender chronograph that hits the markers so yeah lol. It just should at that price point and there is not an excuse sufficient enough when it can't. I mean at 100 or less I'm not expecting right in the center every single time but well enough to see it hitting the marker. At this price I expect it to be near the middle.
35mm is the way to go - if authenticity matters it’s 1/1 same as the 1978 original and fits like no other watch I’ve ever worn - the finish and build quality rival many watches over £1k - one of these and a G-Shock as a beater and you have the perfect 2 watch collection
Was all set to buy the Tiffany blue waffle dial till I found out the auto has plastic parts. This pale blue color shimmers in the light and looks silver with just a hint of blue. For almost double price, than quartz, you'd think They could leave out plastic.
I love my PRX. I only had 3 color options and the one size as I bought it right when they first came out with it, before the mechanical came out. I'm buying the 35 mm all gold one for myself and one for my brother here soon
Problem w shower and hot tub is steam is smaller than water so it can infiltrate the watch. Love my "Carolina Blue" ( ice blue) dial ! Thanks for video
You can get straps but they are very, very limited in choices. Especially when you compare it with more traditional lugs. Where you can quite literally put any strap you like on them
I have seen them but at $100, I don't think it's really a topic of conversation. Especially considering how odd a leather strap looks on the adaptor. Nato straps look alright but still, a little bit strange.
While watching the video i thought it was shot over a year ago, as now you can get various straps from the manufacturer or aftermarket. Other than that, great watch and there are absolutely no cons on the PRX.
You can yes, but they aren't cheap. Even the adaptors look odd in comparison with traditional lugs. It certainly isn't the same experience as owning a more traditional style watch, that's the point I'm making.
I opted for the 40mm quartz in gold. Very happy with it and it's in regular rotation. Even if they had offered a automatic version in gold, I'd still have opted for the quartz as it slips under the cuff just that bit better. I do like the grab and go functionality of quartz pieces.
I did the same thing. I love the brushed dial on the prx gold 40mm. It reminds me of those old wood panel walls and seeing as it's supposed to be an homage to the 70's the quartz movement just makes more sense, got a blue gentleman for the powermatic 80 movement anyways
How is it holding up? Ive heard the bracelet is a scratch magnet. I never even considered a gold one but when i went to try a prx the gold blew me away.
@@tiimsmiith1130 It marks but I've yet to scratch through the coating. Though because it's so, "Flash," I don't tend to wear it like a lot of my other watches as in I work with Stainless Steel and the shavings from that will mark up a watch pretty bad. So it's strictly a going out and walking around watch for me but that dial makes me smile every time.
Okay so i have 2 seikos and i went to a watch boutique to experience the tissot automatic but the had winding seemed so rough i mean it wasn't smoot at all period P.s maybe it gets better over time but i can literally feel the gears gring against each other

Hello! Im really confused! I had to cancel my order mint greenTsuyosa since I thought I was gona buy fake. I watched tons of videos online and even tried to register the serial number on the Tissot website. Im just wondering because your PRX box is different from some of the videos I have seen online. Can you confirm? I would love to buy that watch, i just do not want to buy a fake one. Thanks in advance brother!
Tissot went through a period of using different boxes recently, there's the fold out one like mine, and there's a regular red and black box like others. I don't think there's many fake PRXs out there so I wouldn't worry too much. Just to and buy one from a trusted source.
I bought an automatic PRX with the green dial after buying my Gentleman (which I love) after all they hype alover it. I have to say, I'm pretty underwhelmed with it. The waffle doesn't really reflect light very well and looks dull. It's shape wears funny, and the dial looks very small on my larger wrist. The bracelet which is it's best feature is slightly too tight, and the dealer can't get me a half link. Mine has a slight discolration in one corner of the case that is only visible in direct sunlight. The Gentleman overall is by far the better watch. The dial is much better than the PRX, it's more versitile, and more comfortable on wrist. It also fits a larger wrist better as the dial is more substantial
I do agree, The PRX isn't perfect by any means. It does sit slightly odd on my wrist depending on how expansive it is with the weather (I should've gone with the 35mm). I have seen the automatic versions in person and I do agree, the dial is a little bit underwhelming. I've seen better waffle dials on the Chinese royal oak homages. That being said, I do think the bracelet is lovely. The case is also very well designed too. I think the main reason it's so popular is because of its lack of Swiss competitors around the price. It's a great budget sports watch but when you do compare it with a gentleman as you stated, the gentleman wins. But... some people want an out and out sports watch. Thanks for watching mate!
@@TopTierTicker Don't get me wrong, the PRX is a cool watch. I was just talking about hoe hyped the PRX is vs how under the radar the Gent is in comparison. just still seems a tad big at 40mm for many wrists...the wide lug openings to the bracelet (28mm!) really make this watch look huge. the 35mm, is then just a tad to SMALL, at least IMHO. If they only had a Goldilocks 37.5mm....
The minty green 's second hand hit the minute markers, but the other dial models didn't, though it was difficult to tell with your editing. Never buy any quartz analogue watch online; go to an actual shop and look at them!
My green/teal PRX pretty much hits every marker, there or there abouts. I've never seen it land between markers anyway, always very close. Usually buying a watch online makes it 30% cheaper. Usually worth it over going to an actual store.
@@whereRbearsTeeth I got mine from CW sellors for £210. Using a 20% off discount code. Then for any other brand/model, Jomashop/creation watches is the place for heavy discounts.
Naaah, the second hand not hitting every marker is not that BIG a problem, is it? It is only visible when you look at the dial at a straight angle for a whole minute; actually, a number of minutes, because then it turns out that the second hands hits the markers differently every minute. I have several quartz watches such as two vintage Omegas (one DeVille and a Constellation) and they don't hit the markers all the time. But who on a daily basis does that? And besides, from every other angle you won't see the second hand hitting the markers anyway, so the problem is really very relative.
