I think the "Crotch Guard" is my favorite invention of yours. I have seen a log kicked back on a number UA-camrs videos. I wish you had a hat giveaway on your naming contest. The way you made the crotch guard removable Eastonmade may want to offer it as an add-on. I like how your brain works. You come up with some of the most creative things. Very nice modifications. The "one eye protector" has a double entendre if you're as tall as Adam and a guy with a channel name of One Eye Customs created it. The mod that I would like to see is the removal of the pinch point that is created at the back of the log lift as it's lifted.
Now you started something, A fella on another channel is working on an umbrella holder for his splitter. Really four pieces of pipe welded in various spots that hold a 40" umbrella for the really sunny days. 😊
@@OneEyeCustoms well I saw it while waiting for someone in the doctor's office. And didn't save it as done really poorly , The audio and video were terrible. He J.B. welded nuts to the side of some electrical conduit and put ,three thumb screws In the nuts that held the shaft ( handle) of the umbrella. It was a prototype that looked pretty flimsy . Those screws are going to chew up the handle p.d.q. Just thought I would "plant the seed" and perhaps give you an idea or three. I thought two holes in the handle and corresponding hole in the pipe mounted on the frame and use cotter pins instead of thumb screws to fasten. Then , Where to store all that umbrella ? That's a lot of real estate to take up on a splitter when not in use. I guess in the garage or shed during the three months it not required.
Maybe the company could add a small torsion spring to the log lifter axis point to reduce back injuries when setting up/ storing this lifting device. I’m sure the company has written in a “no liability clause” when you are splitting, but, an injury “while setting up” may not be covered. This could be added during manufacture at low cost.
Excellent! The BRO-PLATE is perfect! Great ideas for throttle and engine control! Glad you addressed the safety issue of the lift platform! Thanks for another too short time with Doug. Be well, be safe!
Excellent!! 50+ years in software design and development taught me that talking to users of a product almost always resulted in valid suggestions for product improvement. Eastonmade seems like a pretty savvy enterprise and I’ll bet these improvements aren’t ignored. Far too many companies have a “like it or lump it” attitude these days. “Neighbor Doug” is a valuable tool resource.

Very nice 👍👍 improvements to the Easton Made, ball buster! The one thing I've added to my splitter that I thought you would do is an adjustable umbrella holder.
Ok so the beat was about to drop and you cut the audio! I feel like I just got trolled lololol great introduction and I recognize the paint booth from one of your first videos!
#1 mod for me is noise attenuation. Engine needs to have a noise-dampening enclosure. There's no excuse to subject yourself to loud noises for hours at a time. Of course, you still should use earplugs, but that's the bare minimum.
Enjoy watching you take something and “One Eye” it. Your ability to not only engineer these devices but also build them to perfection amazes me. Easton made should be calling you. Well done!!
With enough thought, we can always i.orove something that is good. You sir have made it better. Guess Easton will make an improved version of their machine
I like the mods, they're all very well done. I was never a fan of the kickback guard and probably wouldn't use it but I have to give you props for engineering something that can easily be removed and adjusted with no tools and functions well. Great job.
Doug the Axis I ordered December of 2021 is finished in production this week, should arrive around May 10. I have the Vanguard engine AND I ordered Electric start...so this may change the layout of an ON/OFF switch....time will tell. I will use the email address; I like the Table and "Go Nad Protector" LOL. I just subscribed to your channel. CBJ
Liked all of those modifications. You're good, Doug. I like when you make it better, the changes blend in and always make sense. The axis is my favorite in the log splitter world, just need to save up a bit more. Thanks for another great video!
1. Good job on the remote engine controls. A remote E-stop might not be a bad idea on any splitter. 2. As for the log lift just make a progressive linkage and be done with repinning lift cylinder. Also please put bushings on the log lift pivot axle🤦♂️ 3. Do you really need that rectangular tubing over the engine to support the lid?? Build lid frame to be the support. Looks like it’d be a pain putting fuel in or air filter maint. 4. Anti kickout. That is a good idea. These machines do have this as an issue. I’m surprised you didn’t incorporate to stay with machine. Like you said if it’s removable it can be lost.
Doug, I think Andrew should add two of the mods to this machine. The Throttle and Kill Switch and the Ball/Gut Saver! You did an awesome job with them! Actually all the mods were awesome! I really like the table winch idea as well because I can see it being a really safety issue. You are one handy guy! Great job! God Bless
