That's what I do with pine, poplar and other less-dense woods, make kindling. Fatwood comes from the stump of a pine tree. A live pine tree gets cut off a few feet from the ground, the roots pump the resins up into the stump, then it gets cut off and split up for resin rich Fatwood.
I made kindling out of pine. Cedar. Oak and fat lighter. Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
It all works! Thank you David👍👊
That WR can simply do so much, great show Jeremiah. Keep cuttin' brother!
It’s really a great splitter! Thank you Travis👍👊
So question what is your thoughts on pine for firewood I know people have mixed opinions I was just wondering if I was to mix it in with hardwood would it stop up my flue?
No it won’t as long as it is seasoned. People out west and in Alaska all they have is soft woods. Properly seasoned wood is key! Thank you Jake👍👊
Giid video, again. Thanks for taking us along
Thank you Chris, I appreciate you!! 👍👊
I’m guessing them pine kindling splits will bring top dollar at ya rd side stand .
For sure! Thank you Phil👍👊
Good video 👍
Thank you Lyle👍👊
Jeremiah you are so right about pine being awesome for Kindling. When thoroughly dry, it starts a fire almost immediately and smells so good. 👍TCT
Totally agree! Love that pine smell!! Thank you Tony👍👊🔥
👍
Thanks for the thumb Mike!👍👊
I love splitting kindling. Very relaxing!
Especially with your electric vertical! Thanks Steve👍👊
😱
My thoughts exactly!😂👍
That’s some good stuff right there. I made some kindling last week from some pine splits that I have. I got them down between 1/2-3/4 inch in size with my Axis. They light up in about 5 seconds or less.
Awesome, the Axis is a great splitter! Perfect splitter to make kindling!! Thank you Amanda👍👊
That was very satisfying Jeremiah.
Thank you Kenny👍👊
Nice work buddy 22rs still impressive 👍
Thanks Tom👍👊
Nice kindling, that’s interesting to see the sap pockets 🧐
Very sticky!😂Thanks Genin👍👊
Enjoy the smell of pine when you cut it. One of my favorite woodyard smells
Yes for sure! Thank you Russ👍👊
Great video Jeremiah! Love watching the 22RS work. I don’t work with pine, but I do like using sassafras for kindling in my fireplace. It works well.
I sure would like to get some sassafras! I don’t think it grows in my area… Thank you Jacob👍👊
We have like 6 cords of big junk cedar logs 16ft long at our sawmill . Plus endless amounts of slabwood pine, cedar, hardwoods. I split probably 15 cords of cedar kindling at least every year just for my roadside bundles and campfirewood orders thru summer. I split probably 40 cord of pine alone every year. Best boilerwood and campfirewood there is when dried. If u weren't 2hrs away i could bring as much cedar slabwood as u wanted. We cut a cord of slabwood about everyday with our sawmill. We Sell it cheap too $15-$30/ big cord bundle bc we have like 30 cords of it right now. Orr Sawmill in Waupaca
Man you sure do a lot of firewood! Hopefully someday I can get to that point. Thank you Garrett👍👊
Hello from sunny California Good morning j. You got everything for a lazy man’s fire except for the matches , what a great idea, I want to see you make matches now haha . Thx for taking us along.
Hey sunshine Gary! Man I could retire early with match production…🧐 Thank you sir👍👊
Those pine knots will seem to burn in the woodstove. At least here in the Pacific NW anyway.😉👍
I could get arrested in my area for that!😂 Thank you Daniel 👍👊
Great work today. Nice kindling work.
Thank you Jason👍👊
We call that hand sanitizer wood. Because that’s what you need to get the sap off you and your stuff!
Oh great to know! Thank you Stan👍👊
Nice product. 👌 Added value all the way 🤠👍
Thank you Sam!👍👊
Great thinking, cutting the limb clusters out. You made some nice kindling out of those pine logs. Good show. Later bud.
Pine kindling works great! Thank you Al👍👊
Morning Jeremiah , that made for some nice kindling . If a pine tree dies , that sap dries and I believe that is what makes the fatwood . 👍🏻🇺🇸
Hey Del! Good to know thank you sir👍👊🇺🇸
Good kindling, pine is sticky but it works stay warm
Sure is sticky! Thank you Digger👍👊
I believe fat wood comes from the stumps of burnt pines, all the pitch rises up and makes for a solid round of pitch. I have a bunch I naturally harvested, not too hard to find and the stumps are pretty obvious cuz they don’t really rot
I think I have heard that before. Fatwood sure makes a great fire starter! Thank you Carl👍👊
The Kindling Kid, aka "Ian," loved todays video! His eyes lit right up when I told him that your video today was about kindling. Nice stuff, Jeremiah! 👍👍
Ha that’s awesome!! Thank you Tim and Ian!!👍👊
Looks like some nice kindling.
For sure! Thank you Kluck👍👊
Love the kindling making. The sky is very cool!
Thanks mom!👍❤️
Pine is fine! It absolutely makes the wood stove easier to start. I have access to a lot of red pine, if it’s just the right size (like one pass with the 4way) and straight, I cut and split it.
I agree Craig!! Love one pass rounds! Thank you sir👍👊
👍👍
👍👊
You nailed it, if you can avoid the knots like you did, then you’ve made some grade A kindling splits 👊
People love them some pine kindling!! Thank you Britt👍👊
That's some nice starter splits ! The power company replaced some old poles on my property and it was cedar poles that were put in back in 1967 . Some super straight grain wood...makes great wood duck homes and scraps make for great starter. Thanks Jeremiah 👍👊
No kidding they used cedar, crazy! Thank you Ken👍👊
You make that look easy . I like my 30ish year old vertical for making small splits like that . The old setNsplit or my kinetic splitter.
A vertical splitter definitely is ideal to make kindling! Thank you Jason👍👊
I love the smell of fresh split pine, its really my favorite!!!! I have a bunch of pine down along the roadside by me, nice 8" to 14" stuff. Maybe I should go grab it!!! Nice work brother, the 22rs makes quick work of everything you put it up against. Stay warm man, cheers 🍻
Heck ya people love them some pine kindling! Love this splitter!! Cheers brother thank you👍🍻👊
Pine is great for kindling! Almost as great as that 22RS!! Take care Jeremiah 👊🏻
Almost…almost😂 Love this splitter!! Thanks Todd hope you get outside today👍👊🍻
Nice stack of pine. Splitter works great for that. 👍🏻🪵🪓🔥🎄 Have a great day. 👋👋
I agree! Thank you Noel👍👊
That is some fugly splitting wood. For me, that would be boiler wood and not worth it to try and get nice splits out of it.
It was definitely worth it for me!
22 tons of fury!!
Yes! And I love it!!👍👍
Why did you break it?? That’s not a good wiggle!!!
And only 60k miles! The thousand pound plow might have a little to do with it😂
I wish i could afford one
You can!👍
That splitter is amazing, good wood for you stove, do you have one?
I love it! Yes I have a Vermont Castings wood stove
That really is an impressive splitter
For sure!👍👊
Nice cycling time
