The people that re-grouted the pool are correct! Expoxy grout can take upto a week to fully cure, that’s rare for Thai maintenance workers to do the job properly and not take any short cuts, kudos to them!
Thanks for the updates of the four hotel's, I like all of them and much appreciate what work on the video's you do. You and Lon have a great time there.
Great Vlog ... my favourite is D Express , great location ,great rooms and a fantastic rooftop pool with brilliant views .. and the reception area is good too ,free coffee and really friendly staff
Fantastic video Lucas, arriving in jomtien today and need to find accommodation for at least 3 weeks.. and good know i can find something within my budget. Cheers Jeffrey from Australia
I like D Hotel (near D Apartment), because of its location near Tree Town and having an elevator. I have stayed at several good hotels near Soi Lengkee, but that walk up all those floors is hurting my old legs. Having a pool is a good side bonus.
Lucas: Great find with all of my criteria. Swimming pool for me is a must, great way to spend your time before heading out for the evening. Many thanks, Hi to Lan. Stay safe!!!
Another great video... i was surprised at the location of the winner near to the sanctury of truth as its a bit of a trek into the main areas that said it fit the criteria . The point of the video is to show us different places we might not have considered.
Great work thank you appreciate your video got to go to Pattaya in a week my boys want to see a rap concert 😂 and I have been trucking to figure out a villa or a resort or something like you’ve shown cheap and cheerful many many thanks
Hey I dont know if youre still reading comments here but the only search criteria you overlooked is having a decent flat screen tv. This is important for many of us who use them for computer monitors… edit video and watching online media. Great job otherwise. I like your work and appreciate it.
You have become an expert in good budget hotels hunting. $17 a night for all that is a steal. Great video. Happy travels and stay safe. God bless you all👍🏿.
Hello Lucas. What a great vlog, so interesting. For that budget, you met all your needs. Shame about the swimming pool. No biggie if you can use another. Thanks again, Lucas. Stay safe and happy. Next time 😊😊
@@Rides4Kickz this is great info for folks looking to go to town but not break the bank. Even folks moving to town would be smart to rent a room for a month or so, see if they had a discounted rate for a month, while they look for a more permanent spot to rent.
Nice video. I always look forward to your survival and informational vids Lucas. I've always enjoyed the newly reopened Payaa Hotel on 3rd Ave a block off Beach Road. They also roast their own coffee and the cafe is very nice.
totally agree looking for hotels criteria, although I dont need a pool, especially for a one night deal. the thing is maybe a place doesnt have their own pool but have access permission with a neighbour.
Hello Loucous some great choices and a lot of room for you're baht. Has to be near the baht bus routes and quiet during the night. Also i like being near certain restaurants and not too far from a beach not too fussed about a swimming pool. Good content and information thank you.
Thanks Loucus for this video . For me this criterias are very good . I mostly like to have a table and 2 chairs on my balcony to have a last drink after comming home .
We usually go much higher up on the daily fee but....naturally have different requirements....pool yes for the kids but one important criteria is close to 711......😊
Looks like a great place to stay to me nice and clean the pool area looked real fun to specially the wild woman you got dancing around in the pool!!! You should get a lottery ticket !!!
hi Lucas sorry it's been a bit since commented i stayed at Winners almost right beside D for the first bunch of days when i was there. don't remember how much it was. nice enough place but no pool. next time i come out will hopefully be a 3 month stay.
But most important thing you forgot!!!!!. The hotel needs to be guests friendly. Otherwise, it's not at all a choice for most of the visitors to Pattaya.
Good video. Of course these are low season prices. It would be interesting to see what the prices are in December or January. A requirement for me is that the hotel has key card access for the room. Much more secure and who wants to carry around a key on a keychain.
I'd rather carry keys as I do all day anyway at home, no one with any sense takes a wallet out in Pattaya, thus making carrying a card a pain, to easy to fall out of a back pocket when getting your phone out
neat little spot! I think my favorite thing about living there would be just exploring all the neighborhoods. I used to think I'd want to live in Bangkok, but I think I'd overwhelmed and lost there. The smaller towns and neighborhoods would be just fine (not that Pattaya is small, but you know what I mean) lol have a great week!
Have used "D" Apartments a lot and they have two hotels using the same entrance and amenities, except the right hand side is cheaper and doesn't have a lift, they both use the same coffee making facility at reception, as many times a day as you like and the lift to the pool is for all staying in both so the only difference is the price but only a couple of hundred baht per night. close to the baht bus route, 50 meters , for the baht bus and just across the road to New Plazza with food and drinks places and close enough to all that Soi Baukhao has to offer. 600 baht to 1000baht depending on season.
I've been using D apartments since 2018 and never had an issue. The only slight complaint would be the lack of maintenance towards the decking around the pool and also the sun loungers.
Great video Lucas, gives me some hope for affordable places to stay while I'm in Thailand in 6 weeks, any idea if there are any deals like that in other places in Thailand?
Lucas !! All the 4 hotels you mentioned are guest friendly or not. I heard that if a guest is brought to the room some hotels are charging 500 bhat in addition to the rent ...
Well, this is just in time because i will to thailand next weekend and i will try to go where i never did go before. Maybe it's time to check out Nakua and you saved me the work to look for a place with swimming pool :) D Appartments is to near to where i usually go (by the way it's funny you never talked about that place but i think why it is like that: it's mostly for people that come back over and over and it flyes under the radar even if it's probably one of the biggest places (as surface) in Soi Buakao). Tycoon seems ok for people that want to need those things and want to be on Walking Street. Talking about things i never did and your videos, you remember the place in BKK (Khan Na Yao) with the evening at the bar with the girls?? Last time i did go there (both places), it was an adventure and not really a good one. I usually arrive early morning in Thailand so i did go straight from the airport to the place. I was surprised about how many cars there was on the parking so i said to the taxi to wait and go ask if they have a room. They did, more expensive than what you told in your video but I guessed it was "walkin" instead of Agoda. I left my passport and the money at the reception and did go take my things at the taxi. Back at the reception, everything was done and the key ready. Pick everything up and go toward the elevator (you know it's in another building) and when there, the woman from the reception fun after me and tells me that the checkout is 8pm.....I was confused. Discussions here and there, it came out that because i checked in before 8am, it is only 12 hours. I did tell her that i asked her if they have a room for 1 night and how the hell i have to check out at 8pm if it's for the night. She just told me that i have to pay again if i want to stay for the night as well. Nice way to start my holidays...right? Well, i was tired and in 2 days my holiday so i got to my room to try to sleep a bit and then check again. Well, at midday the new woman at the reception told me exactly the same and the amount i should pay for the night, was another full day ( i am used that usually early check-in come to 1.5 day but not here) so twice the price. Seeing that there is not really anything else around there I stayed anyway. The evening at the bar, well, let's say it was interesting but sure not really a place for tourists to go especially if they not speak thai. There was only a "guy" in the whole bar that speak english but none of the woman or the security. I was playing dumb at the beginning and playing the first time tourist in Thailand game until i saw that that will not take me very far and when a girl decided to translate every sentence in her phone to talk with me, i decided to speak in Thai. Long story short, if you try to go there and hope to take a woman home, you are probably on the wrong place. I had contact with that woman for some months after the adventure and got a clear picture of what they do. Up to the next adventure in Naklua hihihihi

If the place has AC and the electric kettle I'm staying. Extra points for the enclosed shower that keeps the toilet area from getting wet.

Exactly. Unless you're not into that
But there might be freelancers on websites where you can go to them. And masage parlours
probably almost every hotel in pattaya is guest friendly. in some you have to pay a fee if you take more then 1 girl to your room
What hotel have you ever been to in Pattaya that wasn't girl friendly?
Excellent yet again, sensible criteria. Did note Wongamat stretched the 200m to BB route, was that on "north Naklua Road"?
Nope, just the main road
