Sometimes it was needed. Albeit the gear was smooth as butter, the N to1st was sometimes stiff; also the 1st to 2nd needed a fraction of a second halt at the N (or a double clutch). Other than that this car was like a dream. Man, I so miss my Alfa GT Junior!!!...
Sounds great, and looks like a lot of fun to drive, requiring just enough "work" for it to be satisfying to drive. Today's cars are too "easy" and fast. I'd take this on a back road drive over my M2 or a lot of other faster cars any day. I hope to find a GTV someday.

This was the alfaholics “fast road” suspension. It’s a great compromise but we’re doing a custom Ohlins suspension on the new build to push it further.
Can you tell me the diameter of that steering wheel, please? Does it slightly obstruct the gauges? I'm looking to install a smaller wheel and am looking for info. Thanks! Would be cool if you listed the specs in the description .
Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I had no idea this video was getting so many views. It’s a Momo Protoypo wheel at 350mm. There was no obstruction of the gauges but you will feel the front wheels significantly more at low speeds compared to the original diameter wheel.
I installed a sport wheel (small Dia) on my Alfa; didn't seem to be any problem... only that nobody else could drive my car... (and that's a good thing)... Since I had a small steering wheel, wide tires (I think p60/225), and a relatively heavy car... nope my GF at that times asked me once for the car, and couldn't move the wheel, gave up, returned the keys... and thanks God for that... :))))
Any Alfa sounds amazing, even the diesels have a tune. But in that era, there was nothing to touch them for exhaust note. Even standard exhaust from the factory. The GTV in this video has probably had an exhaust only to enhance the sound a bit more 😀
Diving isn't only move your self from point A to point B. .....must be also "emotion" .....do you find It into the Cars Is said we'll must mandatory drive in the future (and Someone drive still now) ? ........I'm a alfa romeo Giulia GT 2000 veloce ........Belive me neither .a so fast.forklilf as we see in the Road without a termic engine.....Will give you the same emotions ....
I did a few runs through that tunnel and it was glorious. The only problem was that it was so loud that it spiked out of the recording range. I will have to work on the equipment in the future!
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any more....beware of cars:-((
While your data may be correct, I disagree with your conclusion. Classic cars, sports cars and race cars will still have a place in the world. Some will be converted while others will remain intact to run on private roads, tracks etc. Horses are still risen all over the world. Perhaps not as a main means of transport but for enjoyment.

China told our EU politicians that they wont do any business with underdeveloped countries that still allow CO2 emitting traffic or combustion based industry after 2030...I am sure USA and UK also will be forced by China to 100% electric traffic because today no industrialized country can afford sanctions by China.... China just rules the world...:-(
This brought back memories of 50 years ago, I was gear changing as the driver was gear changing. One of the most enjoyable cars to drive, I loved it.

This is the typical sound of Alfa (or what used to be Alfa). And not only the GTV 2000 as you mentioned above
