Wonderful Car. I watched with watery eyes. Memories. I worked for Alfa Romeo Dealership in the early eighties in California. Great Pride. The shop serviced ALL years and models. From the very very old to the GTV 6 / Milano. We saw them all !
Hello. My brother and I sat in a FOR SALE GTZ back in the early 70's. Asking price was $15k. That car was interesting, very spartan, driver surrounded by a tube frame and sheet aluminum. I was driving a 1971 GTV 1750 that I customized a bit beyond stock....with just a bit of help from Horst Kwech. Fun car if you kept the head re-torqued periodically.
What a beautifully balanced driver's car. My father worked for Alfa Romeo in Italy for a long time and I have owned more than I care to admit. When people ask me what is so special about these belle macchine, I say that when you drive an Alfa, you become part of the experience and all your senses are awakened. In the video, the driver creates the driving line with the Alfa, and can put it virtually anywhere he wants, while the other cars cannot be driven that way. That is the essence of the Alfa Romeo.
there's something about Alfa romeos i just cant explain. It's like if you moved to a small town and the girl next door turned out to be your wife. Under appreciated and beautiful.
Wow. Reminds me of my driving my own little alfa here with "only" 180hp. Love this track. Last june drove a race on semi slicks in the pouring rain. Quite exciting.
The car is awesome and the preparation looks lovely and everyone who is in to these cars know how good is Formula GT engine. But for me, who drives a budget Alfa GT Junior Hotrod, the most beautiful thing in this video/car is the freaking gearbox!!! That is one awesome set of close ratios!! I wish I had one on my car!!
What a great video, of my favourite Alfa and maybe favourite car, full stop. Would have liked to see the suspension, particularly the rear, which I assume has a Panhard rod or Watt's linkage (but with or replacing the central trunion?).
Epic. Motor doesn't sound like I thought it would, Mechanical injection vs carbs I guess. Awesome to see the car being driven hard like it supposed to be.
Dream car ❤ My new alfa romeo is Giulia 2.0 t 280 cv, 8 month old I buy alfa romeo gt 2000 veloce year 1972 this Car is my favorite machine, emotion, beautiful and passion is incredible ❤
Wow, it’s amazing! Everything are beautifully finished keeping Alfa Romeo’s original design. Really perfection. I love this car😍 (Of course I also love my Alfa🍀)
all Alfa mechanics are artists... es ist serh schön... wonderschön vielen Dank 🙏 is this the same Spica injection used on later models? te amo Alfa Romeo
I got my first ride in my brother's 59 Guiliette 1300... no top.. in the rain... he was moving and not very happy... I learned some new words that day.. 1965 I think... I bought a 1600 Guilia in 73... I was doing my apprenticeship on Jaguar... and learning how to drive correctly... a pleasure to see and hear... 🙏❤️🙏 danke vielmals
later model = 75s and 78s ... I got factory training in those.. worked for the factory in Los Angeles briefly... I'm not a city person 😔 .. I had a 79 sedan... and... I drive a BMW now.. oh well... 6 series... so it sounds like it's going fast even when my wife drives
This was the car that should never ever have been terminated. Alfa's 911. Imagine this design, perfected over the 50 years like the 911. I hate bureaucrats and automotive managers that are more into money-making than the raw ethics and passion of motoring itself. We still have this one in the family (under restoration for ten years) as well as a Porsche, always raced, loved and daily in use. The (perfect) car just impossible to retire.
Spectacularly beautiful car. Phenomenal driving as well - at first I did not realise the first lap was just a warm up 😊. Very smooth, efficient, patient driving style - ideal for such a light weight car with no down-force.
I believe that there is no better thing than Germans working on Alfa Romeo, everything is done well to the last bolt, fluid bottles named properly, and everything (over)engineered as it should be. :) Incredible work, thanks for the video!
You can get more power if you retard the closing of the intake valve, the air momentum keeps coming even if the piston reached the bottom, also ad a glass of petrol to the oil to remove some oil viscosity. Have a container of water to reach the wight level and while you race let it leak slowly as not to be seen.
I wouldn’t put the battery on top of the fuel tank like that may be put the batter behind the driver in the space where the rear passenger seat was originally 🤔
A constructive safety criticism+ actually better for weight distribution:- the more the weight in the central & middle of Any Vehicle is the target. ( I know THIS battery's not going to be that heavy- it's just the principle ).
I've owned a Bertone styled 2l GTV and a 1300 Junior yrs ago and I miss em both every day Still. The 2ltr was by far the quicker but the Junior handled better; it seemed more balanced + not much could hurt it on A and B roads. I'd give my soul, my name- everything to have either back. Outa my league price wise now - ya use tag be able to get one for buttons - not now though - unless one of you good folk wanna sell me one for less than £ 10k!!
I used to a 1971 gtv 1750 with dual webers, I would race with some of neighborhood guys in their toyotas and Nissan, either stayed with or beat them , later I found out I was running on a single carb , rear carb throttle linkages was stuck! I knew I should have beaten them all the time , one of my favorites alfas that I owned, favorites is my gtv6 Maratona , never should have sold any of them, don't sell your alfas!
Had been infected by the Alfa virus in the late 80ies when I humiliated BMW, Porsche and Mercedes on southern Frances' routes departementales with an 115 HP Alfasud 1.5 TI. The road handling of this small front driven, low positioned 4cyl boxer engine car was legendary at this time and I guess it still would be if they wouldn't have rusted away so quickly. There was a rumour that in the plant in southern italy where these were made the raw chassis were stored under the sky, so when it rained, which occasionally happened, the already rusty bodywork was just scanty lacquered over, which resulted in corrosion problems after only 2-3 years. Therefore you could buy these little marvels 2nd hand for very small money and have lots of fun. I still drive Alfas after all these years, never any other brand for myself. Never.
I dont understand your comment, you sit in the car not on top of the car like a 2002. I know in 2002s its more upright but a 2002 is still quite tossable and fun.
When they was alfa and not fiat. The original factory near Milan closed, now they are throwing themselves at SUVs and electrical appliances, infinite sadness

Respect

I love the way the shift lever comes out from under the dash. Shifting is a joy.
Utterly amazing. A truly phenomenal example of extreme engineering.
Please more content like this, what a wonderfull Alfa is this!!!
Amazing car and driving, my first car was the 1750 GTV 1971 model. I had 8 x Alfa's after that and will always be my first love .
Fantastic, there are more videos of this alfa than new cars.....that means this alfas have more pleasure than new boring cars.....
Oh I miss my old white GTAm when seeing this. Wonderful car prepared to perfection!
Wow. Reminds me of my driving my own little alfa here with "only" 180hp. Love this track. Last june drove a race on semi slicks in the pouring rain. Quite exciting.
The engine sounds fantastic! Beautiful car well driven with little steering movements.

A car legend indeed an alfa Romeo 👍

I thought it was gonna sound like a gtv v6 or something
No ITB's that's why probably.
Really miss that intake scream☹️👎
The note is not as metallicly as harsh/gutteral as I thought . TBH I thought it'd rev. higher, too.
Dream car ❤

GTAm, Grand Tourismo, Allegerita, modoificata.
One of the best looking cars ever in my opinion.
When Chris Harris drove the alfaholics version, it relit my appreciation of these cars.
Alfa made the best looking cars ever. the 33 Stradale is epic

The loud sound of the bialbero 4 cyl is fantastic
Amazing car.!!

14:44 - greatest part of this video.... HAHAAH takes that car on the downhill when it has 2x the power and probably 2x the grip.... NICE MOVE SIR!

Check out Alfarrari from Homebuilt by Jeff!
Magnifique!

Seems like a conservative Red line of 7000-7500 - based on the red sticker on the rev counter.
❤meine Lieblings Marke... Top bitte unbedingt ein Video zusammen mit J.P. Performance 🎉🎉 auf de Lazise

I really want to know the wheel and tyre sizes on this Alfa. I want to use the same on my Mark1 Capri.
225/45 R13
Look at the channel “home built by Jeff” Australian guy who has put a Ferrari 360 engine into this model Alfa - amazing build
You have to change the Porche stickers in your suit….sorry!
Alfa Romeo master race

Bellissima Alfa
Very good...
Grande auto
Vero good
Beautiful ❤️ BUT WRONG COLOR 😢
Can I buy your radiator?
Also, thank you for the cockpit footage. It gave my heart a start, remembering my racing days in my 105.
Bravo anche il Pilota
Absolutely wonderful. Great presentation except for the very annoying repetitive music as soon as someone stops talking.
Alfa corse!!!!!
Bonjour,elle prend pas les tours,alfa 2l 12500tmc mon record'prepation persso

Nice car .. more horsepower needed.
Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe ..

I read that as GTA minor.
Tutto bello tranne i sincronizzatori 🤗
Cornering so flat- fantastic set up.
Geeee .....SAME hp as a Box Stock Honda k24 engine... From 2004 even.
Si scala anche da quarta,a seconda ...
When they was alfa and not fiat. The original factory near Milan closed, now they are throwing themselves at SUVs and electrical appliances, infinite sadness
Alfa 4c is More powerful / quicker Also likely Far cheaper.
Stunning car,but why
driven so slowly!?
Me,could do much better,
would be overtaken by
NOBODY...😊...🔥🔥🔥🔥💨...
Italians do it better
Doesn't that engine and exhaust note sound symphonic?
pure music
nice work Bert 🫡
