  • This is how I relax my hair at home. At home relaxer retouch can be challenging, however, if you are following the right steps, it is possible for you. If this is not for you then going to a professional to have your relaxer done is the best option.

My hair grows very slowly but it is not breaking off and I don't have split ends. I wear it very short because that's the only way to be with this hair. It’s a little past shoulder length and thinner than early last year. I use ORS relaxer. I may have over processed the length with the past few relaxers and now it’s breaking like crazy. I’ve been doing more deep conditioning. Any other suggestions?

      I experience that 2 years ago. Is it shedding or breakage. If it is shedding that is from the inside so you would need to find out from your doctor as to what is happening and at the same time changing your diet could help. If it is breakage you would have to check to see what section of your hair is breaking. Is it breaking at the root or ends? Please reply and let me know which of the above you are experiencing.

      I have used motions, crème of nature, optimum. But of the three I would recommend optimum because it doesn’t straighten your hair 100% so some curls remain which would give your hair bounce. Crème of nature and motions can be a little harsh on the scalp and might remove too much curls if you do not manage it properly. You can choose base on the above I hope that helps.

      @kurlymeka  6 місяців тому +1

      Why? I think people don’t get it. Here’s my two scent. Relaxers are not the only thing that could cause cancer furthermore the same ingredients that are used in relaxers are used in many other cosmetics such as lotions which are used by many daily. Relaxers are only used maybe 4 to 6 times per year. Which is more cancerous something that is used once a while are something we use everyday. The process food cause cancer, how many people have access to unprocessed food. Please be reminded that this is a marketing strategy to prevent people from going back to relaxers. Because if that was to happened a lot of company that switched to making natural hair products solely would lose millions. A key thing to note too is that a lot of these so called natural hair products are filled with the same ingredients found in relaxers. Did you know that that some of the ingredients found relaxers are in our food too. Do your research please you will be amazed. All the best now

      @@kurlymeka there's a reason why Black women have more cancers -- one of the primary readons, relaxers. Let's not fool ourselves. It's like saying cigarettes aren't the only onlyt cause of cancer. We know that, but it damn sure increases the odds of getting it, just as relaxers do
      And you need to stop with this ridiculous propaganda about some marketing strategy. Here in the US a class action lawsuit is underway. BTW, what carcinogens/harmful by-products are in cocoa butter, olive oil, shea butter, etc.??? Do you, but stop lying to justify your use of relaxers.

    • @loriannrichardson7644
      @loriannrichardson7644 6 місяців тому

      @@kurlymeka Of course relaxers aren't the only things that cause cancer, but why increase your odds of developing it by using relaxers. Just as smoking increases ones chances of developing cancer, so does relaxing one's hair. Those are just facts, and deleting my comments won't change those facts.
      Your promoting relaxing one's hair to other women, (particularly Black women), when you know the possible harm, is unforgivable.
      Why not state the facts to your viewers -- I'm 100% certain they don't all know about the possible danger. Why not seek out less harmful ways to straighten/style your hair??? If you did that, you'd attract more viewers because women are looking for alternatives, but to support the use of relaxers when you know their harm is just wrong.
