In some of the comments, it is mentioned that people shouldn't relax their at home. You must consider that not everyone has the means to travel to, or get their hair cared for by a professional, so this kind of thorough, intelligent instruction is needed. In my case, Im across the world and don't have access to a beautician, so as long as videos like this are created, Ill be just fine. Excellent training video
When you said you rinse in the order you relaxed I got emotional... this is the best application video I've ever watched
This professional is no frills, astute, and educated. Her technique is thorough and there are many elements I'm adding to improve my at home relaxing process.
My biggest fear for doing at home relaxers is rinsing it out. Do you rinse it out in the shower or sink? Any tips on doing it to avoid the the relaxer having contact with other areas of the body.
@@courtneytaylor8727yes, never rinse in the shower so u can get relaxer all over your body 😫, always face down sink if its done at home
@@courtneytaylor8727 My preference for consumers is to go to a professional for a relaxer service . If you must do this at home please rinse the product out thoroughly in the sink or tub faucet. A shampoo hose will also be very helpful.
@@courtneytaylor8727 I would suggest the shower because of two things. First, water pressure is greater in the shower than in the sink, keeping the hair cuticle straightener and don't forget to rinse with your head back to ensure removal of all the relaxer. Second, rinsing in the shower prevents chemicals from making contact with your eyes and face. So, what do you think?
I enjoyed this video. I'm saving it to play for my stylist, she knows nothing. I wish I can relax myself, I wouldn't even bother. Thumbs up for this great video
Hahaa lol you're like you have to guide her. That was so funny too me. If you keep trainer her she might be able to do hair on her own.
These stylist don’t want you to tell them anything about your own hair!! I say get out of there while you still got your hair, I lost a ton of hair because my stylist for over 10 years changed products, she says she didn’t but she’s also a lair, the relaxer burn my scalp so bad it broke the skin took a month to heal it was oozing for days, she took no responsibility at all, now I learn to relax my own hair, if anybody screw my hair up I rather for it to be me😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
I'm glad I learned to do it myself, I think at 25.
I am about to be 48 now.
It came in handy when I was 30.5, because I moved to an entirely different area and no one did relaxers professionally. I am guessing because for most of the part of state I live in, the Black or Mixed with Black population is very very low.
You are a professional! 🏆
Other salons will deliberately go over the mark of demarcation, and that is when the hair will eventually become thin over time, and that's with going to a so-called salon 🙄
I wish I could let you retouch my relaxer 😢
But it's great these videos are out because when we go to the salon, we can be in more control of how they do our hair from what we've leant on UA-cam 💕
Best relaxer application. So neat and precise.
Wow, her hair’s silky straight. Gorgeous!
I am glad I found your channel. I have not done a relaxer since school and have a retouch tomorrow. I know I got this, but since its been a bit I needed some refreshing. Nice work :)
Sending some stylist Love! EXCELLENT APPLICATION and healthy relaxed hair! Textbook 💪🏾
This was extremely helpful! Thank you for all the details in your commentary too ♥️
One of the best hair relaxer videos I have ever seen on UA-cam..you are truly professional...I learned many new things...the pre relaxer chemical treatment protectant..never heard of that..and omg is it so necessary!!! You did a great job with protecting the scalp before the relaxer process ..and yes your mothers hair looked wonderful..Thank you so much for this video..im going to follow you every step of the way!!!
This was a really great video. I’m laughing at mama on her tablet playing a game. Was that Animal Crossing?
Thank you! There’s no telling what she was playing lol. She’s like a child with that tablet and there’s a million games on there 😂
Haniffah Halima It probably is lol I just saw a lot of colors and immediately thought Animal Crossing
El mejor vídeo que he visto sobre el proceso de alisado. Sobre todo la preparacióan antes de aplicar el alisado. Espectacular.
as a cosmetology student, i cant wait to get better at this and provide hair services to ALL hair types :))
This is a gold standard technique! Excellent result.
Great video! Right to the point and easy instructions!! Thank you
One of the best application techniques I’ve seen thus far. I love 💕 it.
@@Ashley21138 I usually tune out if a hair video is this long but this one had my every attention
Chile....if you woulda washed my hair and scalp like that I wouldn’t have said jack. That hair massage feels so good!!! To receive that from someone else makes me go to sleep. When you massage your own scalp if feels good but when the stylist massage it 😴😴😴😴
I've started my hair journey in Jan, now looking to do my own relaxer, watching your video, I feel very confident I can do it successfully...you are very informative and precise compared to others..
This video was extremely helpful. Your technique is so neat, you weren't in a rush and you handled the hair with care. 👍🏾👌🏾
An excellent tutorial.Straight to the point.
This was great 👍🏽 I didn’t learn this technique in school
Thank you.!..great information for the self-taught do-it-yourself beauticians on what they've been doing wrong for years!
I already know this but I still enjoy watching the process.
Best relaxer video ever! I learned so much from this video! I love the fact that you’re focused on providing services that contribute to healthy relaxed hair. I wish you lived in Maryland. I would be your customer in a heart-beat lol
This is an excellent video. I was also told in cosmetology school it's not good to relax ur own hair. Because u can easily over process it even as a professional! Well done!
Wow. Thank you so much for your knowledge. -a cosmetology student ❤️
This was a perfect tutorial for the correct way to relax hair and keep it healthy. Sadly too few stylists are willing to expand their knowledge and perfect their technique in this way. Thanks for the info and the detailed video! Wish you were in the Bay Area.😢
I'm a waist length, type 4 natural nazi and I LOVE this video. You really know your sh!t and you care about your clients hair. BOSS MOVES🥰
u just said “nazi” 💀, like the meaning of that word is used for everything damm
The best perm step by step routine indeed 😅, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the information regarding applying a relaxer!
Gonna relax my mom’s hair today ,following this routine ..It was so thorough and helpful ❤
That scrub looks so relaxing 🤤
AWESOME JOB!! JOB WELL DONE. I Am So Proud Of You Keep Up The Good Work Okay.
Excellent tutorial !! Thank you!!
So informative and easy to follow , thank you I think I can do it properly while keeping my hair healthy.
Please watch my new video on relaxer retouch. I do things a tad differently but I’m glad I could help.
I am so glad I came across this, tfs. Just subscribed💕💕I will use this on my next relaxer
The application process was well done.
Everything was well-explained, even addressing questions I had in my mind.
I wish that my hair could get the same care at a local salon in my area. I used to go from salon to salon hoping to find someone as thorough as you are. Now that I'm considering going from natural to relaxed hair, I really hope to find a capable hair professional.
Awe, thank you. I hope you find a salon and stylist that genuinely cares for the health of your hair ❤️
I wanted a roller set so bad! Lol Looks beautiful
hello we need more classes on doing relaxers for licensed hairstylist everywhere
I use my hands and I do the outter edges last because they process quick. When I do my own the night before I braid down my hair in at least 6 to 8 sections and that helps me so much doing my own. When I do others I do use the four sections and my relaxers come out bone straight..which do you like no lyr or lye...I do like you applied a base protection to the scalp and the already perms sections to not over process...
Woow, u r so detailed, I live it
I really enjoyed watching your video. Clean sections and clean application. You are really well educated! I just want to suggest to protect your hands as well as you protect your mom's scalp. As you said correctly a relaxer is a very strong chemical. You are wearing gloves during the application so you also should while rinsing out. Your hands will be greatful. Best regards from Germany
Man I wish that there was a hairstylist like you where I live. Moncton area, NB, Canada.
This is wonderful. Can you show a video with virgin hair getting relaxed? Thank you.
Never seen it or had it done so beautifully. Would love to have you take care of my hair. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
great video hun! Thank you so much :) Mom is well taken care of, lucky her!
24:33 lol at your client playing lil games on her iPad, that’s cute 😄
Aww, thank you. That’s my mom. She’s on that tablet playing games all day everyday 😂 ♥️
@@Ashley21138 😂 That’s sounds like my Mum. She stays on her mobile playing games when she has minute. Must be a mindless stress/worry reliever 😊

Good process and good job
Gorgeous hair!
Omg that look like it feels so good!!
Plz do a video on different relaxers for different hair textures
Yes agreed! Leave relaxing to the professionals 😁
This is by far the best relaxer process video I’ve seen 🙌🏾.
Best video Relaxer has ever made..God bless you Lady. You have God gifted hands.
Not all professionals know what they are doing. Some will damage their client's hair.
Yesss that orange base protection is my best friend 😂
Thank you for making this video and posting it because if I watch another person relaxing their ends as well, I am going to scream lol.
excellent job, thank you!

Was trying to catch the name of the stuff u out in the hair after u had wash out the RELAXED before u used the neutral SHAMPOO. Never hear of this information before& what does it do. As i said i just subbie to u w/ o WATCHING vudeo first because of your KNOWEDLEGE & responds back to a subbie question. U seem very gifted in your craft & i am definitely want to see more of YOUR work as i am wanting to relaxed 12 years of no Chemicals & hair grow! Dowm my back. Hair very 4'c thick. Thank u. Is this something new to do to hair before the neutralize is used. !?. So glad i happen upon your channel today. Title caught my eyes. 👀. Grace to all. gh
Gail Hopkins Thank you for the lovely comment 😊 This isn’t a new process but I learned of it back in 2018. The product is called Afterglow Post Chemical Normalizer by Vitale. After rising out a relaxer or hair color you follow up with this product and it Infuses positive ions into the hair, Re-aligns the cuticles to give it shine and smoothness and fights against breakage. It also starts neutralizing the hair before the neutralizing shampoo process.
@@Ashley21138 my GOODNESS! What a wealth of information u have& so willing to share!. I bless u in the name of our Lord for u too have more success in your life than u can even Imagine!. I really do. When should you do the edges and how long should you leave it on the edges?
What neutralizer and stabilizer did you use
what virgin relaxer did you use did you use vitale or design essentials relaxer, affirm relaxer , the hair came out beautiful you did a great job
Odjevwe Oraka I used Vitale tender-headed relaxer. I use either Design Essentials sensitive scalp or Vitale depending in the clients hair. Thank you!
Hey from BBL! The video was great!
Aja Arrow Thanks you for the advice and watching my content. I’m very thankful!
Can you place a list of all the products you used in this video thanks.
I wonder did u relaxer her hair previously b4 this application if so I love how her hair wasn’t bone straight to the point it look flat and thin from over processing.
Hi.. please I need you opinion on doing a Relaxer only to loosen a little big just to make it more manageable for my 3 yrs old daughter that has thin hair 3c but I don’t have any exp on curly hair what I have learned is from you tube. Love your videos.. please continue to share your videos. Sorry for my English my 1st language it’s Spanish 😊
The chemicals used to create relaxers, even children's relaxers are quite strong. If you choose to do a relaxer, wait until she's at least 6 or 7. Three years old is too young. Instead use coconut oil, olive oil and Shea butter after shampooing her hair to keep it healthy, moisturized and soft. And always use a wide tooth comb to comb her hair. I hope this helps.
Ok when you are going to perm your hair and you still have your hair style in it do you perm over it or wash your hair first and wait days to perm it i mever knew this
