Eating with others is great. My father lived in FL for 27 years and passed 10 years ago. My last cruise we were matched up with a couple from FL that new my father. It was special and I now have a great friend. Thanks DCL.
I cruised DCL 2006 with my 12yr old daughter we made friends with a older couple and she now has another set of grandparents.we visit them in Florida every 2yrs. Might move there in 2yrs.
Oh my gawd 😂😂😂 That was so funny. I will say we clean up for dinner. But my 29 year old son will still be a nice tee and shorts. Even the photographer said let’s get just your pic mom since you’re dressed up. My guys looked at each other and said “that’s every night for mom” just be clean presentable. Prior to the “world catching fire “ lol 😂 Our servers tried and tried to bring us more food. The servers was amazing. Not one plate was even warm and never wanted another one Love watching y’all.
We have cruised disney 4 times and.number 5 is coming soon. I love the dinning especially the fact your servers go with you. Our last cruise our daughter wanted the same appetizer every night. The server had it ready when we sat down.
We just sailed on the December 12th Very Merry Cruise. Our rotational dining was the highlight of our cruise. Our food was great, our service was excellent. I can't put into words how our serving team made our cruise special. Being the only person at our table with shellfish allergies and diabetes - my limitations can lead to awkward dining with limited menus. It makes a huge difference when your server team brings you options every night based on your diet limitations. Also, kudos to Disney for having a sugar-free dessert option every night.
At my last cruise, the people at my table were great. On the last night, one person, who had bought the wine package, had an extra bottle & shared with the rest of us. Out shared toast: "Thank goodness we got a good table this time!" I've had some horrendous experiences with other diners. Apparently, so did the other people at that table.
If we have to dress up for dinner, we don't go. But we did wear slightly better things - khaki shorts and polos for the men. casual sundresses and flats for the women.
We did not have a "dress up" night, but we did wear dresses and our boys wore collared shirts and khakis most nights and we chose the night we were going to the main show to be our "dress up" night. We were glad to not sit with strangers. I know you can make great friends that way, but even being an extrovert, that would give me anxiety.
So are t-shirts not appropriate attire at the restaurants? I mean I get it for Paolo and Remy that you need to dress nice, but honestly if I'm spending all that money for a vacation I want to be comfortable and nice dress shirts make me feel really self conscious. Not saying I'll ever be able to afford a Disney cruise but if it ever happens I would want to wear something comfortable for dinners. edit: I'm a girl btw who is very much a tomboy and wear jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers religiously.
Agree x100. I don't care what strangers (who paid a lot for their vacation!) wear to the main dinning rooms - I'd be too focused on enjoying my own vacation. The discussion about appropriate attire for the MDRs made me feel like perhaps I don't belong on a Disney Cruise. I mean, if my being in a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers is so offensive to other cruisers, then perhaps I'm better off spending my vacation money elsewhere.
We dressed in dresses bc we wanted to. There were lots of people in nice T shirts and shorts on our Bahamas Christmas cruise. They didn't sppear dishevelled or messy. I have to be honest unless your appearance is extreme (costume, suggestive, filthy....) most people are not even going to notice you. You aren't ruining anyone's cruise that they payed thousands of dollars to be on and you shouldn't let strangers ruine the one you payed thousands of dollars to be on. Each night the Navigator will tell you the expectation. Swim wear is unacceptable. Provocative explicit dress is never appropriate bc even late dining is a family dining room, same for profane images or language on attire. This is hopefully your dream come true as it probably is for those around you so there is no reason to intentionally make people angry. Cruise casual means Disney says you can wear whatever you wore around the ship that day to dinner and you are just fine.
Another option outside of the MDRs not mention is the pool deck. You can get pizza, sandwiches, hamburgers, wraps, ice cream, etc and plenty of adult beverages :-)
We got off the Fantasy last Sunday. I was disappointed with the lack of people dressing up for formal night. I don’t think I saw anyone else in a tux besides my husband
I always wear shorts and tees. Everywhere except Palos or Remi's. U see I paid a lot for my cruise and I'm damn sure going to be comfortable and relaxed on my vacay. Thank you! Now If I was going into colder climates that would change. But on a beach run. I'm beaching it up Bitches.
Don't care if its Corporate Disney or not. I have learned to NEVER send food back and ask for another. I would rather not eat. The things that cooks and wait staff do to your food is atrocious. I have seen it multiple times. Yes, even at DISNEY restaurants at both Disneyland AND WDW! Putting fingers in your food or even spiting in food or drinks. Yes, both have happen from these "wonderful" cast members. So I wouldn't expect any less treatment from DCL cast members either.

That's awful that they punish the servers for bad reviews on the food. That makes 0 sense. Thanks Pete for putting that information out there.

Just booked my family’s first Disney cruise with Dreams Unlimited! Thanks for all the great content!
Enjoy!

I absolutley love Rotational dining. I can't believe other lines do not do this.

Have never seen a single person in a tux on a Disney cruise ..
@@dkaymc6758 do you go on 7 nights or more with a formal night? We have always seen plenty of people in tuxedos.
Love the intro tune

T-shirts & flip-flops. AKA people of Walmart.
