    Regarding the Internet, I recently heard that the current four Disney ships are stuck with a contract from their existing Internet provider. So they cannot upgrade or change that service on the initial four ships while that contract is in place. It's my understanding that the newer ships, the Disney Wish etc, will have a completely different contract with another provider and thus, better Internet. (hopefully)...We will all see once the Wish sets sail.

    Just got back from a DCL. I hate the fact that I have to have my phone with me at all times to see what my next activity is. I like to disconnect from the world and leave my phone in the room. This made the trip suck simply for the fact I had the reminder oh yeah I need to use my phone again.

    I want to hear more about how kids clubs are functioning during the pandemic. We have a cruise booked September 2022 and we are bringing 5 kids. I’d love to have more information on how to navigate the current kids club situation. Thanks!

      Yes!! This is make or break for us. We have a March 2022 cruise booked with Dreams Unlimited but won’t be going if the kids club is still one appointment per kid per day. I know Pete and co. didn’t take kids, but that was a big absence in this conversation.

    We have cruised DCL twice since August, working with the incredible Elaine Edwards, and had a fabulous brunch experience at Palo this past month. Unfortunately, I can't comment on dinner, but brunch exceeded my expectations.

      Hi, no they currently are not running the Pirate buffet after fireworks due to COVID restrictions (as of the sailing I went on a month ago). Hopefully it will return at some point soon.

    Would also be helpful to hear commentary about the availability of entertainment on the ship like what show(s) you can see, were the activities like trivia or bingo something you needed to book in advance or show up early...that kind of thing.

    The WiFi was horrible and the internet packages were terrible. The navigator app was great.
    Pete: “poop Cruise”, “moth balled” you come up with some whoppers 🤣🤣

    I noticed a difference with cell service at Castaway Cay after Hurricane Dorian. I was there the next month and it was considerably diminished.

    we just got off the magic for christmas and there was no deck party at all and it was missed. I really don't mind not having pirate fireworks but i did mind not having the sail away party and no welcome for santa or jingle ball. they managed to have a halloween deck party and there is no reason not to have deck parties. they are in open air and can easily be social disntanced. this is cost cutting pure and simple. also no buffet in palo to me is the same cost cutting because you could have your server serve you as they did before.

    Happy the DCL show is back. Booked a cruise for next fall, through Dreams Unlimited travel of course, and will rely on this show for invaluable information because I’ve never sailed on DCL before.

    Great show, everyone! It’s amazing how DCL is so enhanced customer experience oriented compared to the Parks (thinking of no trams, especially). I do wish Disney would change IT Providers but I don’t have any hope! 😩 I have never been on a cruise but I hope to someday & really want my 1st solo cruise to be on a DCL. Also, I get the most calm feeling watching the cruise lines leave Port Miami that I know cruising would be the epitome of a relaxing vacation. What a beautiful port, too!

    I think it's fair for Pete to have wanted more information from DCL. "Something" doesn't mean "everything", and he didn't ask for everything!

    Thank you for the great info during this show. I appreciate everything that was said about the tips. I could not agree more. If you could please... would you explain a bit more about the tip process with the servers and steward? We took our first Disney cruise about a week ago now and I was very confused about the tips that were being added to the app for our dining servers and cabin steward. I thought it wasn't enough at all. They gave us a piece of paper with four strips and said we should put those in the envelopes. The paper said we would be charge each day but that wasn't what I was seeing in the app. And it didn't feel like enough at all so I ended up just doing cash to be safe. I went to guest services and they canceled the charges in the app. I am not sure what would have been best and didn't understand what guest services tried to explain. Hoping maybe I can get a better explanation here. Thank you.

      I usually tip 15-20% of the bill. We did Palo this trip and tipped 20% of the total bill.

      It is an additional cost...so $0. You've already paid. It's double dipping

      The service is usually wonderful so I would tip the minimum of 20%

      @@braninburdette Actually, it's a common misconception that the per-person fee charged at Palo is the gratuity. It's not. Those fees are simply the charges to dine there and none of it goes to the server. The gratuity is separate.

      @@braninburdette No, gratuity is not included. I recommend a minimum of 20%. $10pp would be the minimum. Service is outstanding so we are very generous with the servers. If you think the servers are not deserving of a gratuity then perhaps fine dining is not for you. There are plenty of quick serve options for you.

    How are they a travel agent extrrodinare if they turn away client Tried. To get an agent and was told they don't have available agents. Do yourself a favor and go with a company that can actually help.
