Great tips! I would suggest that any new cruisers take some time to get to know the app and how it works. Maybe while sitting at lunch or unpacking in the room. I know it’s harder with littles to wrangle around, but knowing how it works will save you time in the long run. “Heart” the things you want to do because you may find something you didn’t even know was an option. You can also filter it. I wanted to find Donald for a picture during my last cruise and I filtered it for him and it listed all the dates, times and locations where he’d be. It was awesome. Also, with that is to always ask for help if you don’t know. I specifically wanted Donald in his Christmas outfit and I asked guest services when those times would be, and they told me. Those “special” outfits are limited and I would have been SO bummed if I missed it. If you have little kids or enjoy the “extras” during a show, make sure you’re always on the main floor of the atrium and the center orchestra of the theater. This is where you’ll get the confetti, “snow”, etc. Prepare to arrive 30 mins before the set time.
I'm glad I found out that paying for your cruise using Target Red Card to buy Disney gift cards to pay for your cruise, you pay 5% LESS cuz you get 5% off using Target's Red Card! Since Disney cruises are so expensive, you can save a few hundred dollars!
We've been cruising DCL since 2012 and only recently realized that Cove and Vista food is included, and I had no idea the coffee punch card is good for future cruises - good tip!! I also got a good tip which we will be using in our upcoming trip on the Fantasy - in addition to the pop-up hamper, bring a collapsable box (you know those cubed fabric ones?) for shoes and pool stuff. Something to note about the magnets on the walls and doors, they have to be the strong magnets in order to hold anything other than a hat or lanyard. Ours were just sliding down the walls! 😆 Hot tip - before or during the Pirate show, if you hang out by the elevators, you might get a quick interaction with Jack Sparrow. It's happened twice now. I go head-to-toe pirate costume, and the first time, I got a hat tip and a "M'Lady..." and the second time, he tip-toed around my son like he was vermin. LOL
Great tips and tricks. On our first cruise, we brought a wooden anchor and permanent marker and had the characters sign the anchor. It is now a cool decoration in our bathroom.
They also used to do the pillow cases. Sadly, they stopped all of it. It became overwhelming to Guest Services cause folks would bring MULTIPLE items, and there just wasn't enough time to do them all. Secondly, folks were requesting only certain characters and not others and would get upset when it didn't happen that way. 😮
magnetic hooks work on the walls as well. They use bleach on the towels when they wash them so if you have clothing that might be harmed by bleach, beware. Learned that the hard way on a rainy trip to Castaway Cay. Pop up hamper in my Amazon cart. Thanks for that one! Have always had to call DCL to use our placeholder for the next cruise. If there's a way to use it on the website, please share. Regarding sharing tables at dinner. You may or may not have great table mates. Stay magical regardless. Hope to see ya'll on board one of these days.
The tip to go to the ice breakers is so true! my kids missed the ice breaker for 1820 Society and felt super out of place there after, the kids seemed to already bonded.
I love any talk of Disney cruise! When I sailed in December on the Wonder, the way to do a placeholder was only through the app. I’m sure guest services could help, but the future cruise desk was always empty! I always book my placeholder on the last night of my cruise because your placeholder ends 2 years from the date you booked it. I figured that there may be a cruise in the future that I really want and if I did my placeholder even the day before I may miss it. Of course, you don’t know 2 years in advance, but I think the more wiggle room, the better. 😊
A tip on the tip for the place holder... It is good for 2 years from the day you purchase it. so if you pay for it on night 1, it's good till that date... if you wait till the last night, you give yourself 7 more days, for that just in case, wiggle room. =]
Woah you can request to be close to the stage for dinner? We’re going on the Wish for the first time in May and will be bringing our 4 almost 5 year old! They would absolutely love to see Elsa and Olaf up close!
Going on our first Disney cruise with my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids March 25, so glad I found you guys! I’ll watch your videos everyday until we leave! And I’m perfect audience for your Mickey Mouse ice cream cookie sandwich 😂
Recently did a 7 day cruise on the Fantasy and tried the room service cookies…terrible. The one I purchased in sweet shop was soft, warm, and tasted delicious.
Great vlog, thank you! Quick question, are there any packaged snacks are can take off the ship? Can we take our own packaged snacks onboard at embarkation?
Tips: Book your Disney Cruise as soon as possible. The cost generally goes up the closer it gets to your sail date. Pack a set of clothes including a baiting suit in your carry on bag. It might be a while before your luggage gets to your room. This gives you the opportunity to changed if you need to
You actually have 30 days after your cruise to claim a place holder. You can absolutely call DCL within that time frame and still get up to two place holders. FYI
Hey there! You might want to double-check that. We called Disney Cruise Line right before filming this video. They said, “to make a placeholder reservation it has has to be done on the ship.”
@@OurZRoll we sailed on the Wish in November and kicked ourselves when we got home for not getting a place holder. When I called DCL, she assured me it wasn’t too late, and that it’s a little known fact that you have 30 days. We took advantage and are going on the Wish again in April. I really enjoyed your video & hit subscribe right away! I’m anxious to watch all of your DCL playlist 😊
Yeah, that's not correct. If you try to get a placeholder after the cruise, you won't get it. You do have 30 days tho to have the placeholder transferred to your TA. Maybe that's what this is in reference to.
Going on our first Disney cruise in August. So excited. If we wanted a flask of coffee for the evening for we have to have our own flask or does the ship provide one?
Love your tips! You guys are hilarious 😂 Last time we sailed we couldn’t tip on the app, not sure if they stopped or if it was just something on our cruise. Just ordered the drink coffee and cruise shirts. So excited to wear them on our next cruise!
Thanks for all the tips! We are going on our first Disney cruise this October. I heard the kids club attendants can’t take monetary tips. Have you tipped them another way or is that not true?
5:35 How much do you recommend for tipping? I always sign up for pre-tipping but it seems inadequate. I would appreciate hearing feedback to ensure I’m tipping appropriately. Thanks, y’all❣️
Our placeholder didn’t work 😢. We went to concierge and had them “do their magic” and it never went thru 😢. So, we’re going on our 2nd Disney Cruise at full price. Maybe it will work this time 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻.
Did you call them before your cruise to request the tables/locations for dinner? We have some other family going on the same cruise so it would be nice to sit with them.
I prefer to tip in cash as you never know what Disney is doing with the electronic tipping. It may be like what Grubhub or another food delivery service was doing, where tips added were going to the driver's but not actually being added on top of what they would normally get, instead you were subsidizing the payments that Grubhub was giving (i.e. the drivers were getting the same amount whether you tipped or not, but if you tipped you were basically helping Grubhub and not the drivers. Wouldn't be surprised if Cruise ships do the same with their mostly 3rd world staffers (not the American cast members who I'm sure get treated better).
What are you FAVORITE Disney Cruise Tips & Tricks?!

The walls inside the staterooms are magnetic as well.
You can also make table requests through the app now. Still not guaranteed, but it is easy to do.
Any recommendations on what table to request?

Disneeds talks about the Mickey bar sandwich too 😅. Good info, thanks!
Love it!! Thank you! ❤️

Yay! Your so welcome!! Happy packing!!! ❤️❤️❤️

So helpful, thank you! Going on our first cruise next year, 7 day eastern carribean cruise on the fantasy!
Yay!! How exciting!!❤️
When? We're going soon on one too.
I found you from watching Legglife they are very fond of you. This is my first time watching you. You both are great I have subscribed.

They bring it in a thermos. No need to bring one.
We are going on the Wonder when it comes to Australia. So disappointed the character calls weren’t available for Australia and New Zealand
Awww! Bummer!!
Awesome tips guys! Love the new shirts! Definitely picking one up
Thank you!!

Thanks for all the tips! We are going on our first Disney cruise this October. I heard the kids club attendants can’t take monetary tips. Have you tipped them another way or is that not true?
Hey there! We’ve tipped them before but it was when we saw them around the ship. It wasn’t in the kid's clubs.

😂😂😂

Yes, we did! You can also put your preferences in online!
@@OurZRoll I tried putting it online, but it only gave me locations to click on and not a box to enter in requests.
great love all the tips , how do i get the call from mickey for my granddaughter b4 the cruise . thanks

You also need an extra legg.
Are you going to get in trouble for using the Disney cruise and mouse ears logo on your merch? I hope not.
We would be shocked! There are thousands of Disney inspired Etsy shops with these logos. Thanks for your concern! ❤️
When are u guys going on your cruise?
We are sailing out March 17th!
