Hey bud that's my area, just east of BR on that i12 section. It's bad when they're doing construction in Covington. Bad weather also ensures a wreck will stop i-12 for a long while.

I think u can get a little mesh gate divider thing to strap behind and across the front seats. That should help the dog out if u gotta stop the old locomotive 🚂.

I just pulled the passenger seat also. I bought a pet mattress that's 30" X 40" and he can ride on that where he will be well below window height and not blocking my right side mirrors.

I'm glad you are different, and in good ways. Love your channel and your priorities. I went looking through a bunch of general hotshot channels on YT lately... Man so many people have very differing ideas about how to do hotshotting. Unfortunately, ignorance is the prevailing force. To me, the general rule is 'lower the overhead'. I see so many people breaking this rule and they end up making everyone rich except themselves. Running your wheels all month to break even on loans for depreciating equipment is a terrible business plan. Then I see people making incredibly important decisions based on wrong information or bad assumptions. Lots of backward crap going on. With the economy crashing, inflation rising, and gas prices high, those bad decisions are magnifying and unfurling businesses very quickly. Don't think one minute that the brokers, shippers, insurance agents, DOT cops, and truck sellers/renters give one shit about your business making any money. As long as the freight gets delivered, they don't know you or care about you and your family. So many dudes taking brand new trucks to the dealership over nothing but check engine light. That's maw maw behavior! They're gonna keep your truck hostage and just find things to replace. Get a code scanner, do your own maintenance, buy aftermarket improvements instead of replacing with proven-failure OEM parts. Quit buying $80k+ trucks with KNOWN CP4 problems. Tell them you'll buy the truck only after they replace the CP4 with a CP3. I'm just baffled by some of the immature, illogical decisions made by hotshot owner ops lately. Then they publish their failures on YT first as a beacon to follow, then as an error to learn from. Yes, your video might help offset the cost of your failure, but you're dissemination of bad info is already out there. Add UA-camrs to the list of people profiting off of you for themselves... Find the few channels that get it right, and steer clear of the noisy morons

Wow, you sure said a mouthful! The ones that get me are the ones pushing the factoring. Save that few percentage points and pay off your loans faster. Or better yet, don't buy any of the new crap to begin with!

I removed the passenger seat and bought a 30 X 40 pet bed for him. That will have him near the floor and much better contained. Years ago driving around NYC, my lane was ending due to construction and he was blocking my view out the RH mirrors. I had to brake check him... as in Ziggy, meet Mr. Dashboard. I was able to safely merge to the right after that!

With a hotshot, we know within a gallon or two how much we can add to our tank... I guestimate the pump said about 10% too much. I also have not set myself up for cooking yet. With 4 large dogs I bring only one and leave the other three to argue over the tasty morsels of any trespassers... So no long OTR trips till I move up to a semi.

Front lic. plate??? Mine says FORD! Lol! Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia do not require front license plates. My low CSA score usually gets me bypassed because they read my DOT number. Maybe with my next truck I will order an extra plate if it will help out in this situation. I'm hoping that will happen in the next few months. Really looking forward to at least a 72" sleeper!

I've been saving waste oil for a while. Need to start filtering it and I will use it for my tractor. It's a 4 cylinder Isuzu with it's version of a P-pump so it should burn it fine. I hope! Certainly wouldn't trust the waste oil in a 7.3. I have a friend in north Georgia who it the local installer for the veggistroke systems. He's the one who rescued me when I cracked a piston last year. I took my load back to the shipper, parked my truck on my trailer and waited for him to tow me home. I can't see driving OTR and needing a supply of oil. Regional would work if you had a good supply, but that's like 60-70 gallons a day.

@@fbg6543 Mo, my hotshot truck is a regular title truck. My personal truck, I installed my cab with it's VIN number on the 2001 rollover wrecked truck. The title is a regular title as nothing changed with the VIN. Basically, I replaced all the parts under and inside the cab with used parts... If you want to rebuild a salvage truck, one, it has to be done by a certified shop and it has yo be inspected by the state BEFORE it's painted to get a regular title. Your best bet is to find a truck you want, and mayne buy a wreck to get a good transmission and engine. Even my hotshot truck has a Copart wreck 7.3 in it and it runs great!

Do not get an idi... I have a friend with one. He calls it the black hole. He's not mechanical at all, and the thing spent 75% of his ownership in various shops for repairs. It's a dog.
