There should be ev car reparing courses, what if these courses required formal education, qualifications? There are lot of mechanics who are self taught mechanics they'll can't do this courses so they will behind in life
1. For all types of vehicles, it should be mandatory for carmakers to publish data on top 20 faults, most common repairs and replacements. People need to know how reliable a vehicle is in actual use and how much does it cost to maintain. The same data should be used for reducing parts and service issues. 2. Perhaps through ITIs, we need a national retraining program on EV tech, servicing, safety. Fund a program to help mechanics buy the necessary equipment. High Voltage systems, BMS, batteries, motors, power electronics and controllers. Some of it will also apply to rooftop solar and home batteries.
Mechanics will have to learn how to work on electric vehicles. Small garages can shift their business to EV charging stations, battery swapping stations etc
