It's one of the most populous cities on the planet with 22 million inhabitants, predicted to increase to 30 million by 2035. Nicknamed 'the infernal Metropolis', Mumbai is a city in perpetual development. But with millions of people living in slums located on valuable real estate, how can city planners balance the competing needs of the population?

I went to India in 1998. The population, slums, traffic, trains, etc. were shocking, to say the least. Seeing it in person will change you forever. My heart breaks for the impoverished people there. Despite all the craziness, most people were very kind. The food was amazing, and there was a lot of beauty, culture, and history to take in. Cheers to the man working on train safety and the leopard caretakers. I hope the big business stops forcing the slums encroachment into leopard territory ! ✌️ ☮️ 🇮🇳

While it is not the responsibility or obligation of the rich to help the poor, it would be nice if they did. In a country where a wealthy businessman can spend 1 billion to build a mansion and 100 million can be spent on a wedding, the chasm between rich and poor is so wide.

In the gulf they are treated as slave labour and have their passports taken from them so they can't leave after months and years of not being paid. They are beaten and abused and kept in very poor overcrowded conditions. There are few if any safety conditions in their work places. In Dubai labourers fall from those tall buildings every day. They die of heat stroke and malnutrition and don't even have enough water to drink or bathe in. They often go without food.

Are they feeding the dogs to the leopard ?? I think that poor black dog was killed. What a wicked town. Humans have been invasive to the Natural habitat of these Wild creatures, also destroying Nature, mountains, polluting rivers, & competing, depleting their foods.
You need to develop more Cities outside of Mumbai and away from the forestry reserves, so poor people will find opportunities outside and not over-populate a limited land resource for humans & creatures.

They need the one child rule like they had in China or else these issues will never be resolved. And whoever can afford it should leave bringing as many family members with them as possible. The Indian community in the US does very well, it seems. Meaning they could maintain a connection to their culture without actually living in India.
