As an Indian living in Europe from last 7 years i can totally say that Europeans are not friendly at all. Sometimes you can feel lonely but being foreigner in India you can be treated as celebrity. Europe has everything but it's difficult to find a good social life. I am honestly saying i m here to make money but i miss India every single day. We may have lot of problems but there is no country better than India ❤
My god...The western Europeans are SOOO UNFRIENDLY...especially Germans. Can't befriend them. They judge you hard (still have that hitler xenophobia inside). I like their socialist policies but...that's about it
India in itself a different planet altogether. The good, the bad, the contrasts, the harmony, the pleasant and the non pleasant.......a mega cocktail of everything and there is absolutely no one way to describe about Bharat......Jai Bharat
I’m Singaporean and stayed in Mumbai for a year. It is safe, people are really fun and cool. And there’s lots of money to make :-) but it’s better to raise a family in Singapore.
As an Indian who has travelled and lived in different parts of the country, I can say , she is the first foreigner I came across who completely gets it. The nuances, the variation, the layers everything, the good, the bad...the biggest thing about India is, you can't generalize ANYTHING, even the most stereotypical and recognizable and widespread thing may be completely unrecognizable or unfamiliar somewhere else. While most of what she said is true in Mumbai and a large part of India, some things may not be. For example, that stereotypical headbobbing is completely unfamiliar in the parts where I belong(East and North East), we used to have the same trouble just as the foreigners do when we first visited the southern part of the country.
Agreed, stereotyping an entire nations population (especially large ones) into one…category, mindset, ideology is ridiculous. Simple analogy for the broader premise… food. The differences in flavors, regional cuisine, ingredients, cooks… all nuanced and very specific. Apply that to other aspects, music, humor, customs, history etc. and you have a truly unique experience. I only become wary of globalization if a side effect is if fast food chains and shopping malls all over the world are your only choices… …good insight brother, reminds me of an American saying “You’re not in Kansas anymore” 🙏
Patricia is amazing. She has understood the soul of Indians and India is also lucky and enriched having people like her living and working here. If she wants green spaces, she needs to travel 80-100 kms away from mumbai city, you can find quiet localities in mumbai as well.
I m very Proud, that our Country made her one of us and she loves it. Vande Mataram❤🇮🇳 India is our Mother to all of us and she will take care you like a daughter always.
India is no Japan or South Korea. DO NOT leave your phone or anything expensive outside unless you wanna lose it. Saying this as a born and raised Indian currently living in Europe. Also, she is right. India is amazing at services. I find India to be more convenient than Switzerland, the country I'm currently in due to my partner. Switzerland is physically beautiful (stunning landscape & tip top cleanliness) but Indians are unbeaten when it comes to how friendly, accepting and kind the locals are (generally speaking) and also procuring services as a customer is WAY WAY WAY MORE convenient in India. They have apps for every type of service including medicines and groceries that get delivered either on the same day or next day and basically everything. I'm always amazed at how efficient India is in terms of services whenever I return. I don't have to wait 2 weeks to see a specialist. In India, I can see a specialist on the same day if I want to . As much as I enjoy Switzerland and the affordability and convenience of being able to travel to neighboring european countries, I have actually been considering returning back to India. My swiss partner loves India too and is totally onboard with the idea of living in India. I've travelled to many countries but no one is friendlier than us Indians. My partner says the same thing. He says the people is what makes India amazing.
I completely agree with what you said. just wanna add, There are areas in India that are just as picturesque, just as serene and clean as switzerland, This includes vast areas of Arunachal, Northern Sikkim, Remote Ladak, Some remote valleys of Kashmir, entire Lakshadeep and some Islands of Andaman. and if you calculate the total areas of those places, they would actually be more than the area of Switzerland. But, yes, the difference is, these places are largely untouched by humans, while in Switzerland human curation and natural beauty go hand in hand.
well because we have been brought up with that fear but remember we always always get back our stuffs easily if we forget somewhere. people do real effort to return things if it is important like some documents or id cards without expecting anything return. if there is accident or someone in need of help people come and help with every possible way they will even leave their work drop you to hospital and stay there until unless someone is not arrive without expecting anything in return. this kindness is no where in the world visible. it is only and only in india because we believe in "seva"

I am an Indian. And when I visited Ukraine, I visited this beautiful little town called Kolommiya, and some people there wanted to take pictures with us (me and my Taiwanese friend) same happened in Kosiv. So, humans are curious basically.
What I admire the most about this video is the level of understanding about India. She has gone beyond the things that are wrong in our society to appreciate what is good. That's what helps you appreciate cities. Also, on the subject of Paris vs Mumbai, I was robbed of my luggage in Paris airport ... but that never happens inside an airport in India. In general, I felt more safe in Mumbai than whenever I visited Paris.
Getting robbed in an airport is abnormal. I have visited more than 43 countries in the world and transited through many more airports. The only place where I got robbed is Paris CDG. In a different trip, my boss got robbed as well. In Singapore, I lost my sun glasses, Singapore Changi guys couriered the glasses to me on my request. In Dubai, my daughter lost her gold bracelet. They located and returned it. I am not saying this in air but out of practical experiences. @@ZaWarudo69
@@murlimohanrao well then that’s a ‘you’ problem rather than the country’s security. One is expected to learn from mistakes in different experiences but from what you described, it seems you kept making same mistakes and were never cautious. Also, you just happened to not get robbed. Your not being robbed doesn’t objectively declare the entire security status of the whole country, because by your original comment, you’re making it seem as if the world revolves around you and if YOU didn’t experience a negative experience in india, the whole tourism/citizens don’t as well ( for confusion you used : *but that ‘never’ happens inside an airport in india.* ).
What an amazing woman, the use of the word "we", the optimism, the sense of comfort in her own skin, the compassion...she would be happy and will create happiness in any country or culture that's lucky to have her.

The pollution after Diwali is actually not due to fireworks, Firework pollution stays there for maximum of 2 days, after that it's all due to burning of paddy fields. She might not know this because media only focuses on blaming the 1 day of joyous festival. Fireworks are not unique to India but only Diwali gets the blame and the actual reasons are ignored.
Not really. Not everywhere it's paddy burning. That is in Delhi Noida region. What she really meant about pollution in India during Diwali is reality. Indians don't realize how worse to an extreme level diwali fireworks pollute the climate. And our religious sentiments alongside political pampering for it blinds us to not realize the intensity of it or accept this fact as we are so accustomed to even traffic pollution and this feels just a level up, so we don't truly understand the gravity of situation. It's just like slums are great, they are happy living there during heavy rains, they are used to it kind of justification many give. India needs to revive a lot of situations like better livelihood for people in slums, fix pollution, population, infrastructure and traffic situation. It's worse than many Indians think it's not.

What an incredible human being she is! So much depth & nuance in her understanding of India as she experiences it. Ofcourse some things are city related - Mumbai is exceptionally safe for women, this may not be true in some other cities. Mumbai is also exceptionally crowded & the landscape changes every few seconds from modern high rises to slums. Other cities are often not that extreme. But Mumbai is a wonderful experience for Indians & foreigners alike. Its hard not to love India after you have experinced life in Mumbai.
Specially Ganesh festival. The crowd dance from Bindi Bazar to Gate of India and throw Ganesh in the see. Diwali is nice too.Holi a bit too much.Oh forgot Shivaratri.

May you have a safe, happy and healthy life here in India.
12:23 her point about covering up is so important. I have a European friend who often pushes the idea that people should just accept that it is a ‘body’ but it is pretty disrespectful and culturally blind to not realise you are in a different place and should adapt to their customs as needed. This lady is in india and has accepted that the country is as it is. I love moving and travelling but i do miss home a lot even though it is crowded and crazy!
Patricia I think you are really an epitome of definition of India. You did express that you may stay elsewhere, but don’t worry you will not let India out of yourself. All your points are valid and truth. Loads of love.
This is true. The convenience and efficient services we can have which is just few taps away on the phone in today's India is awesome. Thanks for uploading this video. A great video ..well done Max….👍👍🤩🥳 This lady’s perception on the Indian ppls good naturedess is spot on. They don’t like confrontation and avoid them usually. But she didn’t elaborate on the aspect of community living in an apartment complex .The Indians are inclusive in having group celebrations especially during festivals and the hospitality can be heart warming to the soul. Also …the spirituality of the nation is inspiring and unmatched and not found in many other countries… India is truly beautiful and unique…👍🌺❤️
The community living has both good and bad sides. For people whose lifestyles matches with the community expecations its a match made in heaven. For others who have slightly different viewpoints its hell.

I live in Budapestfew months every year, and will be spending increasing more time here . I find Hungarians very friendly. All one has to do is take initiative in smiling first. It has always been the case that whether I asked for the route, or any other advice they are really supportive. Further I have made many friends including neighbors who don't speak English . Unlike what is believed Europeans are very family oriented. I think the problem with some of us is that we are too sensitive (easy to take hurt) and do not take initiative. if you do that Europeans are very friendly - especially because they have no agenda. It is also very very safe

Fantastic to see this max. Love your unbiased and open conversations. If possible visit Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Pune to get different perspective. Mumbai is a completely different world ( good way) compared to all other cities in India.
Just want to point Mumbai is not entire india there are many cities many places and many beautiful villages you can stay in,just have to adapt to the culture and don’t be arrogant to not follow the culture of the place, there is Goa where you can wear a bikini and there are places where people will stare at you for wearing one.
India is like ASEAN, with a little bit of Egypt, bit of Morocco, bits of Caucasus region, bits of Tibet and bits of Yunnan. However, there is a section of tough backpackers and Bohemian mavericks who visit India and they do the following: 1) Stay in cheap hotels costing US$ 5 to US$ 15 2) Roam around in slums and street markets 3) Eat only street food They say that like this you will see the real India and then some of them end up falling sick or disliking India and saying that India sucks. India also has a ski resort called Gulmarg and Asia's largest tulip garden. Produces tropical fruits like Mango and Banana and temperate fruits like Pears and Apples. However tough backpackers are not interested in these aspects of India.
You're right. Indian should stop being over emotional with foreigners. Taking selfies with foreigners won't make us any better. I see people thanking foreigners for liking their country. Do we need their appreciation to know and love our country. When some foreigners are charged extra or are misbehaved by some local, all Indians go on to apologize and sympathize with foreigners. I know this is a good thing and such mischievous people must be reported and punished. But how many Indians show up when something similar happens with an Indian? And how many foreigners do that when these incidents happen with Indians in other countries? In simple words, respect and help people where it's required. But don't just blindly over hype foreigners.
The way she has understood India, it's people, the culture and the city precisely with all its nuances is commendable. As someone who has forever lived in Mumbai couldn't agree more and how refreshing to hear from her perspective

Growing up in India was like being part of a big, friendly family. I never felt lonely because there were always people around to share life's ups and downs. Indian here… thanks for making such an amazing interview. Pls do more like this. This kind of videos gives real perspective of a place. As she said, you see one neighbourhood look like 1950s & another looks 21st century. This is so true and key problem of India. Development is not for everyone here. If you’re wealthy, the place you live will be much cleaner & developed. If you poor or from middle class, govt never cares for you.
I won't really so far and say the govt wont care, cause they are the one who cast vote. You need to understand the dynamics here, rich fund the political parties so that they can participate in elections & then they appeased the poor to get into power. The leader come from the people. If the poor are satisfied with what the political leaders are offering, they won't work more. Now if every family member earns in a poor family, they would actually earn more than a single white collar job in middle class. Opportunities are there, loopholes are there, everything is there. It just depends on what you see & wanna make use of.
@@ShubhamBa If singapore people thought the same like this in their 70s, you don’t get to see the singapore what you see now. Problem with Indians we never acknowledge that we need development. No one is India is ignoring the challanges, u need to handle them individually or bring a solution which has cascading effect on other issues, and mind it that its a 7 biggest country by geography, with most complicated history, culture, terrain, geo politics, economics & local politics. @@ShubhamBa I don't see any solution here. I just see another reason to convince ourselves why we are not developed. Instead, we stack reasons we are different, we have history, culture, bla... bla... Tell me... building a pothole free road, good foot path, clean water requires history & culture?? How many times you visited a government hospital for a treatment? How many of your kids study in govt school? If you start thinking why... you will get to the problem.

This is a great interview. And I guess she spoke about Mumbai and not India. Mumbai is probably a country within a country and it's only a city. Multiply that with the number of states in India and you have one complex organism.
I have lived out of India, and I just won’t go back. Its not the comforts alone, its how people treat you. It just doesn’t feel right at times. They will rarely accord you the same respect unless you are a real big deal. You won’t have the same opportunities. It was the worst with Germans that I worked with in UAE. They would always show signs of micro aggression that they are somehow better. That somehow their way of being hospitable is the right way, whereas it was actually really stiff and formal. So yeah. I really love being in India. I love the colours, the chaos and my people. Sure there are really bad days and things feel wrong, but its home

I only become wary of globalization if a side effect is if fast food chains and shopping malls all over the world are your only choices… …good insight brother, reminds me of an American saying “You’re not in Kansas anymore”
🙏
People in Mumbai were actually super chill and cool (except the airport staff haha)
Services one is simply cuz you are rich in India. There's not as much demand at that cost
@@MaxChernov Soon the airport that you are currently landing in Mumbai on will be exclusively for domestic flights. International travel will happen from the new airport coming up in Navi Mumbai. Mumbai is under construction. there are lots of new construction happening. 350 km worth of new metro is being built. With underground stations, underground road tunnels. I ask my foreign friends to not give up on India just yet. We are still in an infancy phase or I should rather say we are just getting started. I'm amazed how beautifully she described India and especially Mumbai. . .
Paris is horrible and so far up its own ar**
Happened to me too
Are you seriously generalising the level of safety of an entire airport just because YOU didn’t get robbed there? LMFAO.

Truly said....
True
Where in Mumbai or nearby areas you can find paddy fields burning?
@@bickynt7930 The smoke does travel from interior areas of Maharashtra and MP, it gets carried away to far off distances and gets mixed with the winter fog

Welcome to India, the land of diversity and wonders! I am delighted to have you here.
India is a country with a rich and ancient culture, dating back over 5,000 years. It is a land of many religions, languages, and ethnicities. We are a proud and welcoming people, and we are always happy to share our culture with visitors from all over the world.
I know that India can be a bit overwhelming at first. It is a vast and complex country, with a lot to see and do. But I encourage you to be patient and open-minded. Take the time to explore our cities and villages, our temples and mosques, our mountains and beaches. And most importantly, get to know our people.
You will find that Indians are warm and hospitable. We love to meet new people and learn about their cultures. We are also very proud of our own culture, and we love to share it with others.
*So please, come and explore India. We have something to offer everyone. And I promise that you will leave with a lifetime of memories*
A great video ..well done Max….👍👍🤩🥳
This lady’s perception on the Indian ppls good naturedess is spot on.
She has become Indian in just 8 years, her understanding of Indian culture is astonishing. Great to see her positive feedback about India! CNN, BBC should watch this for sure. Mumbai is not just about gateway of India, slums but it’s also about food, culture, support system etc.

India is not perfect...but that's part of the charm! It's the litmus test...if you can adjust with the chaotic balance here, you will love this place. Else, you will think that this country is impossible to live in. Either ways...ITS INDIA!! 😊
It was absolutely worth the time watching the video till the end!!

She has the best lesson's for the people who would like to visit this country.
However, there is a section of tough backpackers and Bohemian mavericks who visit India and they do the following:
1) Stay in cheap hotels costing US$ 5 to US$ 15
2) Roam around in slums and street markets
3) Eat only street food
They say that like this you will see the real India and then some of them end up falling sick or disliking India and saying that India sucks.
India also has a ski resort called Gulmarg and Asia's largest tulip garden. Produces tropical fruits like Mango and Banana and temperate fruits like Pears and Apples. However tough backpackers are not interested in these aspects of India.
True bro every single f*king foreign vlogger are like this.
If you see there are pigs who like taking bath in mud, they enjoy that.

21:55 she is wholly solely Indian now. She learnt how to express the emotions by facial expressions and gestures. And that facial expressions said it all. Brothers and sisters of Bharat, she is one of us now. Welcome sister into our big giant family. You are one of the 1.45 billion now ❤
I am impressed that the whole time she was true to herself. All the words were coming from her soul. I think living in Bharat makes to know who you actually are. That is why maybe, people around the world come here to get their own self.
She is extremely positive and true to herself, so it’s naturally come out in the universe by her. And we all must learn this from such being. She comes from outside still knows the nation and the people much more than some creatures live here in the country like a cancer in the body. I am her fan now. What a great soul she is.
Epitome of a beautiful, intelligent, sparkling bright slim, elegant French woman. A delight to watch and listen to, and a compelling interviewee. She wears no rings, a sign of a balanced independent practical mind. A treasure of a video and a pleasure to see. Thank you.
Bravo Max..ur channel is getting more n more interesting.👍👏 I love all the ppl that u interview. Thnk u so much
thanks so much! we are going global!
@@MaxChernov God Bless🫡🙏🙏🙏
Yes, you are definitely right. I really like all the people Max had interviewed especially from Malaysia and Singapore. Now that he's going global, we can anticipate more wonderful interviews. 😄
It is adorable how she says 'We.' That's the sign of a mature, accepting person.
India is not only about mainland states or cities there is something more then this North East
North east is lobh ❤
She is lovely and full of positive energy, I loved her interview and glad she has such good remarks towards India.
If you poor or from middle class, govt never cares for you.
more is on the way!
Rather we normalize how poorly we live. That is the curse, our country will be far behind in development even after 100 yrs.
@@rayees.ahamed Comparing apple to pomegranate & concluding it as both are fruits is bad logic. Developing a city vs a diverse country as India has different challenges. You can say that a particular model of a particular sector can be adopted or keep them as example, but cannot say that why arn't we like them is a bad logic. No one is India is ignoring the challanges, u need to handle them individually or bring a solution which has cascading effect on other issues, and mind it that its a 7 biggest country by geography, with most complicated history, culture, terrain, geo politics, economics & local politics. Here two companies can't make same revenues & percentage profit in simple products as Salted Chips & u want to compare India & Singapore seems ignorant.
@@ShubhamBa I don't see any solution here. I just see another reason to convince ourselves why we are not developed. A city state like Singapore with less than a million population could able to surpass GDP of India, should make us think why with a billion population still we are far from getting basic infra like roads, clean streets, water, healthcare.
She is absolutely true i wouldn't argue on anything what she said and people over here telling that not to leave your phone like that i would say you can leave your phone in a closed space like that restraunt where you are sitting with someone you know it's all about your sense of awareness and coming from Mumbai i can say that and whether you love or go any where around the world you have to always be aware about your belongings because if you are carrying something valuable it's gonna catch someone's attention so be careful be safe and it was really a lovely video.
This is a great interview. And I guess she spoke about Mumbai and not India. Mumbai is probably a country within a country and it's only a city. Multiply that with the number of states in India and you have one complex organism.
This lady explained the life in Mumbai perfectly well ! She is quite immersed and humble
So proud that she speaks Hindi.. it would be nice if some North Indians living long down south learn the local language..
Another good video. Very meaningful conversation. ❤
Advice for foreigners who want to live in india for some time i would suggest tier 2,3 or tier 4 cities. Because it's quiet, way more safe ,friendly and pollution free.
