Acrylic washes and the grainy pencil look can be tricky. I think it comes down to the different acrylics people use, as some acrylics are more matte than others. You need enough tooth for the pencil to grab on to, but not too much or the pencils look grainy or streaky. You can try buffing the page with a very fine grit sandpaper to remove some of the tooth from the paint, or exerimenting with different acrylic brands. Your pictures in Hanna's books are always an inspiration to see.

I aspire to be like you but I was trained from birth 😂 my mom anamorphized every one and thing (what if Hanna Karlzon sees this and her feelings are hurt that you don’t like her coloring book 😂!).
