I really enjoyed seeing your beautiful colored pictures. Your work often helps me to do better with my shading and highlighting. Also I always like to color realistically. It just makes me feel happy to have the beautiful variety of colors on flowers, clothing and wherever they appear in our environments. I did though love the orange sky in your Halloween picture. I am going to try it as a sunset in a lovely forest picture that I have been planning to do. Thanks for all your great art Alena.

You are amazingly talented! You're use of colour is just beautiful and I always enjoy your work. I love it when you are proud of your pictures but also understand when it feels wrong or off because as the saying goes we are our own harshest critics. I feel I've come to a place in my own colouring journey where I don't know how to make it better so will be doing some colour along watching to improve myself. Thank you for sharing and always inspiring me 😊

The problem isn't you..the result you achieved tells me at a glance you are a talented painter. It's the paper. Coloring book paper isn't remotely designed for watercolor. Even the "watercolor paper" coloring books are terrible paper. Pick one page, copy it onto 100% cotton watercolor paper (this is easier with a PDF image but you can use a lightbox or sunny window to hand transfer the lines as well.. be sure to use waterproof pen if you ink it). The difference will amaze you. Not only will the paints behave better, they will look better with true color and clarity. Watercolor is just a very picky medium that requires the proper materials. I really feel they should outlaw pulp watercolor paper (only half joking), it has caused undue distress to so many beginning painters. I shudder to think how many have simply given up when the struggle was never their fault. That said, I use watercolor pencils in all my double sided books as bases and a substitute for my markers that would bleed through.. and occasionally actual paint as a background element. it can be done, and a helpful tool, but it will never be the same result as actual proper paper.
