Great Video. This is how design engineers start prototyping ideas. I haven't played with mouse traps since i was a kid but there has to be some way to adjust the sensitivity of the trigger. Go a little further with your design and add a microswitch to the trap and you can have a buzzer sound off when it trips. now that would be cool! And yes - frozen fingers might be a problem.... but who cares, its YOUR design. Love it!

Never really thought about trying to take the design a step further. But now I might have to tinker with it! You got my creative juices flowing. Thanks for watching!

Great video 😊 . How much down force on the fishing line will release the rod tip?

It feels like it won’t set from nibbles, but it would when a fish takes off with the bait. But, to be honest, it never went off last season at all. But, being brand new to ice fishing, I was never really on the fish either. So I feel like the problem was more me than the rig. I’m excited to get it back out on the ice this year tho!
Thanks for checking out the vid!

@@mikeboston421 You don’t like my fishing rod?! 😂 I do have an actual ice fishing rod but I use that to jig with. I just had this very old rod that I figured I could use for this. Just trying to work with what I got. Thanks for watching!
