I'm usually not a big fan of original compositions/shows for marching band.....they're usually too complicated and often too esoteric for audiences to comprehend. But I absolutely LOVE this. Great job Jay Dawson....you are truly one of the most talented band composers out there for all genres. Love me some latin jazz.
These demo renditions of the music are played by professionals in a studio, with a mixing board. This gives students an impression that they too can match this sound! I think it should be made known WHO is going the recordings!
I played trumpet (soloist) for this and at times I would play first bass drum for this. Love the 16s played by the first bass along with the up beat accents played by the rest of the bass line towards the end! Love this song! Twas so much fun playing this song!
I’m playing this as the bells, surprisingly. They had to come up with a brand new part for me. (The bells are the xylophone for anyone reading this not in a band)
