- I had the honor of witnessing this performance first hand. This amazing ensemble was inspired by the famous Cannadian entertainment empire Cirque Du Soleil. Jay Dawson wrote the score and also the drill chart. I know you can't witness the drill but take it from me it was amazing. The movement titles appear on the screen. Ladies and gentlemen I give you "Quidam!" Enjoy.
I do not own any rights to this production. All rights are owned by the respective owners.
Did this show as a freshman in high school, bass 1....now I am the drumline instructor for the same high school. Oh the memories!
I taught this show almost 20 years ago, and I still use the snare groove at 6:45 every chance I can. The paradiddle 2+ shot + 4 buzz thing.
I was bass 1 too!
Atmadja: 0:00
Ninkou Latora: 1:20
Quidam: 3:10
Incantation: 5:42
Thank you!
It’s weird that Ninkou Latora is in this when it’s in a completely different Cirque show
@@ZoeKitten84 I feel it really spices it up though so I don't mind it plus it's fun to play
thanks p helps with practice n shi
I did this last year and my band won 2nd in ACCs (Atlantic Coast Championships) and we won regionals and states. Our band was 3a band. Needless to say it was my first and very fun year. I was a baritone horn.
At last, I have found you, post more on your baking account
diegori_ 130 hi diego
I played this last year as a sophomore and it was amazing! I just love the melody and the blending of the different parts.
I did this show my freshman year, so long ago. But every once in a while it pops into my head. The music is just so good.

Can't wait to be on Drumline for this piece this marching season :)
My marching band this for my rookie year and we won finals. This brings so many good memories of the season. Can’t wait for next season.
Joe Da Penguin oof
This show is a musical masterpiece. The way it repeats the main theme throughout the show is really cool and the big hits in the opener and Quidam make me emotional every time I hear it. The show takes you on a music journey that always leaves me satisfied each time I listen. There are so many more great things I could say about this but, it’s too much to list.
Can't wait for this year. This show is awesome. #bandnerd
We are doing it this season
Sheeeeeeeeeeesh
This song is straight up poppin' 🤘
We performed this show in 2014, but the 2nd and 3rd movement swapped. i don't know why. State Champs!
Doing it this season!
I HAVEN’T HEARD THIS SONG I YEARS!!!
As a major Cirque fan and band geek, the one problem I always had with this show was the inclusion of Ninkou Latora. Its from a completely different show (Dralion) from Quidam and thus was not written in similar tone, or mood to Quidam's often dark and Gothic music. Pulling Seisouso, Misère, or Efants d'Acier from Quidam's score would be better.
That's honestly hilarious to me. This is our band's show this year, but we replaced Quidam (the song) with the opener from another Cirque du Soleil marching show, Journey of Man, which is honestly really stupid and I hate that our band director did that lol. Regardless, that means that our show consists of Ninkou Latora, Journey of Man Part 1, and Incantation, which are all from completely different Cirque du Soleil shows lmao
@@foxmaker6143 that's hilarious lmao- did he think it was too hard? i remember having a blast with the ballad
@@salcomella I honestly have no idea, but it was soul crushing to hear that we weren't playing Quidam (or Atmadja for that matter). Quidam is honestly amazing, it gives me chills every time I hear it.
SAME I was so confused listening to the music like where the hell did this come from like it’s a completely different show if anything choose one that would match the theme or just a different song from the soundtrack. But none the less I love Quidams music and story so I think because I love it so much it was kind of disappointing to me to see music from a different show
we played this in bluecoats 05 and 06
Wow really? Are there clips?
Doing marching band camp right now preparing for our show with this music!
Joran Brensdal hey Joran! I just decided to listen to this one night and saw you on the comments. The piece sounds great, wish I was still with you guys!
We did this show too but you have WiFi at band camp?
I miss band
I am in my high school marching band and we are doing this show this year and I was looking for the Cirque Du Soleil version to see if I could see the original but it was retired so I don't know if I can but I will keep looking for it.

Same my school is doing it.
THE KING BERRYMAN my school Is also doing it

At my marching band's first competition the announcer mispronounced Quidam
I play all of these on aux percussion 2 except AtmaDJa I play that on the vibraphone
Does anyone know the year of this arrangement? Sounds super early-2000s
The cirque de soleil show for this was late 90’s, that’s why it sounds a little dayed
@@parmesan1723 Dated, sure, but in a good way. Early 2000s marching music SLAPPED
The violin in quidam sounds so butiful. The one in my band sounds like that one video where the cats are having sex no joke
Did this sophomore year
