I love the bike man. I have an 02 ST, similar to this one. May I ask where you got your seat set up at? I’m looking for the same rear seat delete kinda thing you have but I can’t find one quite like that no matter where I search. Would be much appreciated!
I loved the bugeye look of these things as a kid when I was blowing up 125cc 2-strokes. I've been slowly ticking off the cool old bikes I used to lust after, not done a triple yet.
The centre stand I don't think is an option. Never seen one on a Speed Triple. Understand you had to keep the chain tighter but there should be a fair bit of play in a Speed Triple chain. Your Speed Triple has optional extra accessories fitted. The fly Screen, Front Fork Protectors, Rear Hugger, Loud Can and the Fairing instead of the passenger seat are all optional extra accessories. Some change the 190 rear tyre to a 180, it improves turning! As you stated the bars, grips and levees are not standard.
Thanks for all the info and sharing your experiences, I appreciate it! :). The Triumph Speeds and Streets really do age well don't they? Ive seen many clean examples around my area here. I've really enjoyed all 3 Speeds I've owned. My favorite was probably the 2013 1050 with a custom wine red paint job I had a few years back, it's in the channel here too. Those are actually some of my first videos, I'll post a link for you below. Then I had a 2019 with all the electronics. Awesome machine too, but there was something about that 13. I agree I think the brakes on this 02 probably could use some new pads, who knows how old they are ate this point! It does have steel lines though. A previous definitely did alot of customizing on this machine!! There is alot of upgrades and cool little bits. I think that's a good thing though, for the most part. If they did all that, they are probably taking good care of the maintenance as well :).
@PastorMattMoto No problem with my comments. I agree the 2013 1050 you had was fantastic. I think the earlier Speed Triple 1050 is better too. I haven't ridden a Speed Triple with all the electrics either. So can't comment. Wait until you try the Speed Triple 1200RS.... 180bhp and 92lbft of torque.... Personally think it is too much but Triumph are trying to match the competition with these Super Nakeds. I feel Triumph are detracting from the original Speed Triple concept. The 1200RS has super stiff suspension, a revvy engine and is track focused, not road focused. Hope you try one, I may but I would not buy one! Yes, the brakes on this 955i are Nissin and are deemed excellent. Once rated as the best brakes on a motorcycle, but I agree Brembo have taken over! If there's plenty on the pads, changing the fluid like you did would bring them back to original. Agree, somebody that buys the optional extras to look after the motorcycle will be one that will care for it. Thanks for the replies!
They are a better road bike in my opinion than the 1050, the suspension and chassis is much stiffer on the 1050 especially the R version, great for tracks but not so good for road riding, especially hear in the uk, our roads are starting to look like a 3rd world country. Hence the massive down turn in sports bikes, and uptake in ADVENTURE bikes.
Yeah the roads around here in Wisconsin can get pretty messed up, depending on where you are riding in the driftless area. They have redone some important ones this past year, but some of ridges are.....let's just say best ridden on a supermoto haha
Amazing triple Youngtimer 🤙🤙🤙
Thanks for checking out the video! I really do enjoy the Triumph triples, I also have a Street Triple at the moment :)

Its amazing how modern these older bikes feel after just flushing all the fluids and having good tires
I agree, I think with a fork service and fluids, you would have an excellent machine at a great price!

If you get a chance to test ride one, I would definitely recommend :) 😀
