I've been using the same model and will not touch another reel again. This reel is absolutely beautifully smooth and amazingly light! This reel will land anything!
The great thing about a 4000 series, it is still usable when you get to the reef. With lighter gear, you can't get fish to the boat fast enough to beat the sharks and barracuda. Great dual purpose setup.
Your videos are excellent. New to saltwater fishing. Can you help with rod & reel selection? What is meant by rod action (fast, medium, etc)? How do I choose? Reel sizes? Which one? Even pro/con on tackle boxes? Newbies gotta learn somehow. Thanks much!
I have a Daiwa Saltist 4500 they came out with in 2016 abs I love it . It’s super heavy though for a 4000 series reel . Lot of power it performs like a 5000 or 6000 . My wife just got me the Daiwa Fuego 3000 LT and I’m in love with it . Super super light but performs very well . Just caught my PB snook on it last week a 32 in snook . I probably will only buy Daiwa reels going forward
Any recommendations (or a video you’ve done) for a new saltwater Rod/reel setup for mostly shoreline fishing. I’m spending a lot of time in southern Florida soon and would like to start fishing through the keys when I’m there. Freshwater fishing will still be where I spend most of my time, but I do want some reasonable quality equipment when I’m down here. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Glad I found your channel.
@Artificial Slinger I've used them as well.. The X Ship and micro modular 2 gear along with the design of the Stella's 15 bearings, I've noticed a difference. And I wouldn't switch back.
@@artificialslinger9730 they're starting to. The bg mq and saltist mq doesn't have it and it's weird but their cheap $ 30 crossfire doesn't have it either.
@@artificialslinger9730 yeah that switch is useless I'm my opinion. I've never in my life had a reason to use it. As you stated, another entry hole for sand or water to get in.
I know about the Brand but they don’t usually Go nuts on prices I have a few diawa reels I usually shop with avet and Shimano so ik ant high prices but damn diawa y’all doing the low budget fisherman dirty 😂
I only use PENN for chucking bait, in situations where I need to muscle snook or bigger reds from mangroves, and where I’m not going to be casting and retrieving. Good reels for bait and trolling But Shimano is absolutely awesome for artificials, and diawa is in the middle, diawa kinda fails with the bevel they use on their spools, it’s almost non existent on their lower end reels, and some of their higher end, so you sacrifice casting distance, and ease
@@carloso.1451 imo the only thing Penn succeeds at is when using bait. Diawa is also just as good for it, while still being miles smoother, but not as rugged.
Yep! Been using a procyon 3000 for about 6ish months at this point. Absolutely love it, and it is super smooth casting and the drag is buttery
My 3 year old Stradic 4000 has handled every snook I have ever caught even the 40” ones!😎
I still use a stradic fj , the old white ones. Still smooth. Just changed drag washers to carbon fiber.
@@aaronhiggs yea man thats the ticket!👍👍
@@artificialslinger9730 Thats a beast!😎👍👍

Congrats on the new reel. You have hand some really good catches with your Battle 2500. Looking forward to great catches on your new Diawa 4000.
They have a great selection of TFO rods there. Love tailwater

Yeah, Ive caught plenty of snapper and grouper on mine.
Good you do a segment for a medium power setup. I have a 7'11 medium/fast with a daiwa bg 4000 for lures
Got to try the st croix mojo inshore seafoam in color. Better cork shape design that fits well in hand compared to purple mojo.

Comfortable fishing trip 😍
Had one of these get stolen this past summer, awesome reels nonetheless!
I where do you keep your boat at
Should got a saltist or saltist MQ I have both and they are fire
Do you happen to know if the side plate socket thats used on the Certate will fit the Saltist Mq?
What city is this?
no, no, no... Brent, Get a Stella!! they are like butter!!!! OR Try one.. They are like the Rolex of fishing reels!!
They are also a grand lol.
@@aaronhiggs I have the 5000. It's the same size as a regular 4000. It's 700 bucks for the fresh water. But they are silky smooth
@Artificial Slinger the saltwater reels are. The freshwater are about 700

@Artificial Slinger very little difference? Stella 20k, Stella 30k. U sound like a know it all. Buy 🖐
It’d be dope if you sent me one of these
@penn is gonna be pissed
Way better than the shimano stradic in my opinion and use

170$? For a 4,000reel ?
It's a luxury reel. Not necessary, but definitely a huge difference from something in a lower price bracket.
I saw them on Shop Karl’s for 149.00$ and it was the aL 4000
@@jayjohnson9668 yeah, i bought mine for $140 on a sale promotion my local bait shop several months ago. Good deals can definitely be found
