Watched my first PoP Comics video this past NYCC weekend. Your excitement & passion for comics is contagious and super fun to watch! So cool watching you livin’ the dream and buying almost everything at the con! Love some Zullo covers, looking forward to her cat covers coming out shortly.
It was so much fun watching you on all Con-Days! Congratulations for these excellent buys. Makes me wanna go digging in all available bins nearby (and that's not so easy in Germany). 😇
Hy Eisman, the artist on one of those Bunny pages was born in 1927 and is still alive. He was doing Popeye Sunday strips until very recently and also did a run of Katzenjammer Kids from 86 to '06. He's one of those guys that can do pretty much every style of cartoon. He's done a ton of stuff mostly strips.
You continue to be an ABSOLUTE Boss for the culture! I always rep NY and NYCC is the Pinnacle!! From your Golden Age to Modern buys….you’ll make ur $$$ back Triple Fold 💰💰💰🍻💯
I did get a ton of great deals this year. As of now they will all go into my PC though haha but I am selling about 10K worth of Funko Pops from my collection to help pay for it all. And hopefully I can do it again a bunch of times.
Awesome that you’re finding what’s making you happy. I’m feeling the same way switching out of Funkos and didn’t even look too long at Funko vendors, actually spent all con in the comic section, artist alley and panels.
Wow You showed off amazing books!!!! And I agree with you on buying prints, today's comic art is just breathtaking. You Sir have Awesome taste in Art!!!! Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
I hate Cons because I spend to much and when I finally get home , I realize I didn't get such a good deal. You on the other hand, go through each bin methodically and get the deals Just discovered your channel and enjoyed binge watching your uploads
Its really easy to over spend on bad deals at cons, many thing are way too over priced. My best advice is to become an expert in a couple of series, really get to know their prices and values. Once you have that you can check any booth and you check for those comics. If they have them priced higher then they should be I assume the whole booth is over priced and I move on. If they are priced at market price then I might dig a little to see if they have a few things I am actually looking for. And if they have priced things at a steal I dig in and grab anything I might want. If you can learn when to walk away from a booth you can become more efficient at finding the deals. Its not 100% accurate but I assume the whole booth has similar pricing based on the comics I check and already know values well. Happy you found the channel enjoy.
I always love to see any of your Archie comics finds, especially when you get a sweet deal in the bargain bins! I also love the Vamperilla vs Betty/Veronica covers - wow! I gotta find those 😮
Nice haul!! I spent about 5% of what you did (not worth the argument with my Wife LOL), but was happy with my haul. I ended up with a large stack of Bronze Age horror and two grails (for me at least); Tales of Suspense 66 and Jet Powers 4! Love your videos, and again great haul!!
Awesome pickups! Congrats on all the deals and mystery box score. The art books were very cool, the stickers, pins, just everything. Thank you so much for great videos!!
I am at the point where I dont have room for them anymore, I am not really enjoying collecting them any more. I hate the games and cheating that keeps most people from being able to get hot new releases etc. And I just enjoy comics even more, so I thought I would convert the ones I dont enjoy as much into comics (Still gonna keep the grails and favorite pops) Also the main channel has been so slow this summer, I am just not so motivated to make content there.
Hoping you would do a haul video. Been watching your visits to NYCC. The mystery box video was hilarious. Can’t believe you spent so much money. Hey, why aren’t you on WhatNot? I think you would do great. I know I would watch and I think most of your subscribers would too.
Yeah I think its ok, on the back cover it looks like one corner a triangle shape had been torn off and was reattached with tape. I feel like that was what they were calling restoration. I am really happy with the issue it looks beautiful. And the Big Shot comics are awesome!
I watched your Con videos and would have bet the money total would have been higher. I’ve never been to a Con, great videos, lots of enthusiasm, the next best thing to being there!
I am always looking for deals and the best comics I can get for the money. I spent a ton but did not go too crazy on big ticket books. Prices just felt too high on them.
See, I'm most intrigued by the Miss😼Meow comics, and the three shiny Harley♦️Quinn comics from the David guy...🤘🏼💯✔️ If I could have anything outta everything here, those are the ones that I want the most...👌🏼 I'm not sure how to obtain them, but I'd really like to get'em...👍🏼 Probably eBay perhaps, but I'm not sure what run the Harley♦️Quinn ones are even from...❓️ Also, I just really loved seeing everything that you bought at this convention...❤️ Absolutely soooooo many great comic books...🤙🏼 You continuously and epically keep blowing my mind...🤯
I think the stores that had them as exclusives still have them in stock, you just have to go to their websites. unknowncomicbooks.com/ for the nakyama variants. The Miss Meow you would have to look up.
When will we get a full collection tour ? 🤣🤣🤣 Just kidding might give you videos for a few months or a year :) thank you for the video and all the information. Don't have much comics myself because I collect multiple things, but awesome to see your hauls!
Haha full collection tour would be a month long hour+ a day series haha But I do plan on doing a key issue comic video sometime in the near future maybe 2000 comics
Having collector mentality on anything is a dual sword... go all in in the beginning and search n spend like crazy, but sooner or later get bored or uninterested.. then when go to sell you are like "why did I spend all that money?" Shrug shoulders, find something new to collect, and do the same thing all over again.
The way I collect I always try to find things at a great price so when I do sell off parts of my collection etc. I am not so worried about how much I spent, in most cases I will make a nice profit when I sell. Some times you just have to curate your hoard of stuff so you have more of what you love.
A decent phone costs what $100 a month when you factor in the phone cost and the service cost maybe even a little more. $1200 a year pays for a lot of comics haha. I might have to get one soon though if I want to do alot more convention videos and or more long distance trips.
Day 1 was kinda hard, Day 2 my friend Chuck let me stash stuff at his booth in artist alley, Day 3 was the worst but I broke down and decided to use the mini hand cart I had in my bag in the con so I could wheel the boxes around. Day 4 I was with my son that day so did not buy many comics until the end of the day and used the mini cart. You can see the card in the con videos.
GREAT VIDEO!!!! Hey it would be a cool video to see ya how ya store all your comics cause is that stack of boxes in your house or a storage unit? allota times people dont know how to store comics surprisingly never know you may inspire people on how you store your comics.
I have a wall of comics behind where I film in my office just in slider boxes, those comics are more series I am currently working on, want easier access too. Most of my main runs that are complete near complete are packed away.
I am gonna keep my grails and favorite pops probably sell out the bulk of the cheap stuff. I just dont have room for them which kinda sucks it keeps me from enjoying collecting. If in the future I am finally afford a large space I might try to get a complete set again. But for now I need to curate and just have the ones that bring me the most joy. Plus I rather have the comics right now haha would be kinda cool to sell some pops and get some major grails. I did buy out the KRS mystery boxes, they had 12 bought 1 loved it bought another then kept going. When I was on my 6th they offered me the last 6 for $500 before I opened it. Now the 6th box was the grand prize winner lol so they got me but the rest of the boxes were pretty awesome too.
I wonder if Victory comics re-stocked the boxes after Thursday. I went through almost all of them and was pretty disappointed with the stack I ended up with, but don't remember seeing any of the 12 centers you pulled on Friday. I either overlooked them somehow (very possible), or they had reloads ready. If thats teh case I regret not going through them again after Thursday! You pulled some nice stuff. All of those decent 12 centers for 3 bucks can't be beat. nice haul as usual :)
They were on the north outside boxes. The 12 cent books I grabbed looked like the same stuff they had last year so not sure if they put more boxes out or maybe you missed them. Not 100% sure, I felt like they were better stocked last year. Its definitely worth a quick spot check at cons though, I rechecked their booth a few times just to see if anything caught my eye that I missed. I still dont think I got through very much of their stuff this year, it was pretty crowded so hard to dig.
@@pop-comics ya I agree that they were disappointing compared to last year/previous years, but obviously still some good stuff in there. I actually killed at the Dave and Adams booth this time. I think they were overlooked somewhat as the sticker price on everything was very high, but they were doing 75% off all raws and then a little extra if paying with cash so I ended up with over 50 books at 13 bucks each. most of it was extremely high grade silver and bronze so I was really pleased with that haul. Just gotta be willing to dig and take chances sometimes when the show seems tough.
I don't necessarily have a budget to spend each year, instead I look for the best deals I can get then figure out how to pay for it. If I could spend a million dollars then sell a million dollars to cover all the purchases I would
1:34:15 Inferno 3 is Destiny. Inferno 4 is Moira Mctagert. You have got to read HoX/PoX and Inferno. Some of the best X-men story lines in decades I'd say. Coming from someone that reads a lot of x-man titles.
@@pop-comics well i do enjoy your videos, they are fun. Automatic Comics somehow makes half hour long videos with only a couple purchases to show off but he is the most boring comic youtuber by far. I seem to keep watching though, but with lots of fast forwarding, haha.
I do that with a ton of comic channels or watch at 1.5 speed haha. But yeah I like to try to throw in as many comics as possible in my haul videos so there is always something new being shown every few seconds.
Oh you know what I did see them then, but was only concentrating on NYCC exclusives at that moment, I got the three Harley Covers. I think the Joker was sold out by Sunday when I bought a ton of his covers.
EPIC HAUL VIDEO! I wonder if I could convince NYCC to give me reduced price admission next year just to have access to the Hotflips $1 comics in the final few hours of the last day. That's all I'd need. Wow. They don't sell comics from a retail store, do they?
That I am not sure, but man there $1 sale was crazy. If you go to the con in the last hour or two if you are comfortable enough to ask people sometimes you can snag a pass as they are leaving if they dont plan on finishing the day.
With the Witches Tales 11, that almost looks like a reprint cover added to a coverless copy. The sound it made when you opened it at one point sounded like a more modern paper, it looked too flimsy to be golden age paper and the green colors on the cover look too bright. I could be wrong, but I think you may have got duped.
I will compare it to several other harvey comics I have from that era, honestly it might be because its harvey. But you might be right gonna take a better look at it to figure it out.
Oh yeah and the back cover was yellowed in a way that looks like its really old so It could be legit still. I mostly have to check to see if other harvey comics are cut square on the edge or if they have the pyramid fold of pages like most other golden age comics have.
@@pop-comics Yeah I mean I could totally be wrong, I just see red flags. The easiest way would be just feeling the paper of course. Does it feel like more plastic or that classic soft golden age paper?
Nothing jumped out when I was filming that felt not like other harvey books I held at the time. I bought a stack of 10 or so almost nm copies from Street Side Anthony early this year, gonna find those and compare the feel.
She did not charge at all which was awesome. I find a lot of artist will do free autographs if you buy a bunch of stuff from their booths even if they normally charge.
Too many good books to remember them all. You sure got a kean eye for Katy Keene. I think you should hand cool kid an issue of Impact Comics the Fly #1 for his birthday. It's youthful glee and colorful flare should peak his interest in comics. You could also rent a storage unit nearby the con for the week you go and swoop by to leave comics. One month isn't expensive depending where you rent it. That's what Bronzeville comics does anyway.
I spent a ton, but I also got so much more value then what I spent so it was a great con. And I am ready to start selling off a good chunk of my Funko Pop collection so I will be doing a lot more crazy comic collecting as I convert from one collection to another.
You are def right about Funko. With the shares “exclusives” it really defeat the purpose of conventions. I understand SDCC actually has true exclusives. NYCC “exclusives” are just general release with a sticker I probably can get off eBay
Yeah, and the fact they make it super hard for most people to get pops at the con it just ruins it for a lot of collectors. There is people from all over the world who came to NYCC hoping to get some of the pops and got nothing. Its trash.
I didn't know you hit $8000 spent. I saw the krs mystery box purchase... I didn't know variants NYCC exclusives were being sold outside of the main company booths.
I love his artwork, its a decent cover just not my favorite of is. It might be the background was too plain for my taste not 100% sure. Still had to have it though lol It was $40 so I was willing to pay a high price for it.
@@pop-comics The one use I to bring my 4-year old son to the flea market still fits like a dozen unopened Topps 1987 wax & rack boxes, it'd probably hold 8+ long boxes. I enjoy your channel!
@@mrechannel2023 I would love to bring a bigger cart but NYCC bans carts in general I think so I sorta sneak in the small one. Someone pointed out a genius plan that I will try next year. I can rent a small storage unit for $40 about a block from the convention center so I can drop off boxes I buy all day lol I might go real crazy next year
I thought about this issue. It looks like the Javits Center does not have lockers, only coat check. There are apps that will show you baggage storage nearby convention centers. They are typically used by travelers to store their luggage before hotel check in. I see many are $6/day. So I would plan on two or three breaks during each day to offload short boxes to these nearby storage places. Then after the con you can recover them all at your convenience. For what you spent, another $30-$50 to ease your mobility while there is well spent.
Just seems so weird to see Katy Kane high prices for a comic/pages that sometimes gets left behind cause the demand isn't highly there. Damn those disney comics I'd of bought them all to lol I just bought some goofy and porky for 2 each so I can't complain the price was good for silver age. Grade was better then I usually see on em.
Yeah the Katy Keene Prices were really high, I have been able to almost complete the set much cheaper. And Cheap Disney Golden Age I will always buy. $2 sounds like a great deal.
@@pop-comics I been waiting for the store to get some Archie silver age stuff. Have not seen those in a while. They get gifted to my mom who enjoys them. There is a millie comic for a buck but the issue cover is hanging by a thread such a shame.
I always had more room in my heart for comics, and this con not even thinking about Funko crap made me enjoy the con 1000 times more. It really let me know its time to sell
I'm looking to sell my comic book collection to a collector on a one-on-one basis- do you know of anyone in the New York area who likes EC Comics from the 50s?
I cant think of anyone off the top of my head other then myself. Are you looking to sell it all for full price, bulk price or what are you looking to get?

@@pop-comics Ok you’re probably good then. May have just looked weird over video.
Curious How much does Dawn Mcteague charge for autographs ? I have several of her Lady Death covers here lol
She did not charge at all which was awesome. I find a lot of artist will do free autographs if you buy a bunch of stuff from their booths even if they normally charge.
@@pop-comics Nice and of course I'd buy some stuff since I didn't already have it
@@kellyphillips2239 She was definitely the best experience I had meeting artist at NYCC this year, she was wonderful.
@@pop-comics Love her Lady Death artwork I'm a true sucker for it That's for sure lol
Never thought about renting self storage near the con, what a crazy idea. Maybe next year I go even more crazy!
Are you also a seller? What platform you sell on?
I have a physical shop in Brooklyn
OMG - I know you spent a lot at NYCC, but not that MUCH!!!! WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!!! All I can say is that you got a lot of great stuff!!!!
I spent a ton, but I also got so much more value then what I spent so it was a great con. And I am ready to start selling off a good chunk of my Funko Pop collection so I will be doing a lot more crazy comic collecting as I convert from one collection to another.
Greetings Everyone How can I purchase Bulk comics?
Depends on the types of comics you want etc but you can start by buying some cheap lots on ebay
How much money do you make that you spend that much in one weekend????
I answered how I spent this much in the video.
@@pop-comics thanks. I saw that after I posted!
No worries ;)
AWESOME!
Thanks!
They were being sold all over the con this year. Almost too many.
@@pop-comics I hit up the IDW Publishing exclusives and got one signature for Earth Divers by Stephen Graham Jones.
@@readysetsleep Very cool, I did not make it to IDW this year. There is always more to do then I have time each year lol
❤Eres un ángel gracias
I thought the Midnight Suns 1 Lee Inhyuk was a gorgeous cover
I love his artwork, its a decent cover just not my favorite of is. It might be the background was too plain for my taste not 100% sure. Still had to have it though lol It was $40 so I was willing to pay a high price for it.
@@pop-comics $40 sounds like a great price, I had to pay $70
Sounds like the flippers got you. Comic Mint still has them on their website for $40
Do you bring a cart? I suggest a folding wagon. Allows you to buy & carry a lot more!
Yes I had a small cart I bring in my backback.
I can rent a small storage unit for $40 about a block from the convention center so I can drop off boxes I buy all day lol I might go real crazy next year
Can't go wrong with Comics.
100% agree!
You should rent a U-Haul for the Con🚚👍
I dont drive otherwise I would haha
Damn those disney comics I'd of bought them all to lol
I just bought some goofy and porky for 2 each so I can't complain the price was good for silver age.
There is a millie comic for a buck but the issue cover is hanging by a thread such a shame.
yas! no offense, but I prefer the comics to the Pops :) ...and hey, Funko's loss is our/my gain? heh
I always had more room in my heart for comics, and this con not even thinking about Funko crap made me enjoy the con 1000 times more. It really let me know its time to sell
Oh wow, lots of good stuff! NYCC, seems pretty bad for Funko. Glad you got the comics you wanted!
Yeah Funko has been terrible in NYCC for years. But I love the comics, and had so much fun hunting for comics this year.
That Gotham society magazine cover is actually suicide squad #6
Good to know thanks
New sub here
Welcome aboard! I am happy you found the channel
It's the guy from the NY city comic con
Probably
Yeah, honestly funko has not been hitting as much. I also have been buying more comics than funkos this year. Anyway, keep up the great videos:)
Yup! I love comics more anyway and always have.
Cool SpongeBob SquarePants comics
They are neat!
Hi buddy
What's up?
@@pop-comics I'm doing good thanks for the review on comic books
Man, $8k in one weekend. 질투하는
It was a crazy weekend.

Are you planning on selling any of these comics?
Not at this time, all for the PC
Except for a handful of duplicates
