Hi Jahful, its a Dawia Team Daiwa 10ft feeder rod... perfect for the small chucks on commercial fisheries, is a lovely action... so soft when playing hard fighting fish right under the rod tip!
Great stuff Sam, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment! :-) The rod we are using is a Daiwa Team Daiwa 10ft Feeder rod, its a great rod for commercial fisheries and has a superb fish playing action! As you can see it virtually bends from the butt to the tip! Its perfect for pinging out little method and pellet feeders to islands and features etc
Hello, the rod we are using is a Daiwa Team Daiwa feeder rod, if you google it, it should appear. I cant post links on here if not I would do. Hope this helps. Cheers :-)
I used the same type of method feeder on a match lake the other day. Used a layer of red krill groundbait then a mixture of marine halibut krill + the source pellets pushed into it. These were soaked in amino dip. Then a very sweet tutti fruiti soaked soft cherry or scopex pellet on a hair rig. Long hook length. It worked a treat! Best run was 6 carp in 1 1/4 hrs. very effective way of fishing. Will definetly be using same method again!
Hi Gigamlat! Thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video! For fishing with pellet or sweetcorn we would use a size 14-18 sized hook. Drennan and Gamakatsu are two very good brands. The guru hooks are also very good, just try and match the hook size to the size of your hook bait and to the size of fish that are in the lake. Hope this helps a little! Cheers and tight lines.
Hi Jack, if you buy a heavy(ish) method feeder, semi fix it and use a short hooklength then yes, in most cases the fish will hook themselves. Hope this helps.
To see the tip movement at night we would use something called a starlight or Isotope, you can buy a neat little attachment that fits to the end of your quiver tip which you can attach your starlight or isotope too... That is probably the best way. :-)
I fished it with a carp rod. The tip on that still shot round when I had a bite. Just kept it at 90degrees to where I was fishing. I covered my hook bait in tutti fruiti glug. I put another layer of groundbait over hook bait. My groundbait was mixed very damp. Thanks for showing how to sink the line easily. Will have to remember that for next time.
Hi Vaderdetta, this type of feeder is the Preston Method feeder and mould. I cant post links in here, but if you do a search on google it should bring up some results! Hope this helps. Cheers :-)
Hi from Croatia, great video and a nice fishing session :) I got a question about the hook size and brand of the hook. Fishing on the method feeder here is quite rare, so pellets are rarely used. In many places (at least near me) the fish haven't seen anything but sweetcorn.. What size of hook would you recomend me for using with sweetcorn and what brand (Korda, Owner, Gamakatsu, Maruto, Drennan...)?
Hi guys thanks allot for all the amazing vids! my evening would have been boring as hell ive been sat in me kitchen rolling boilies by hand for 2 hours! still got another 2 batches left! lol anyway great vids as always guys Tight Lines

hi mate just wanting to know what rod was used in this video if u don't mind my askin as im new to the match fishing concept and like the look of it . could u pm me pls :) thanks
Hi SWINDLA87 when fishing commercials we normally like to use the line clip as it aids casting accuracy, however it's just a case of practice I guess! Steve's a lot better at casting than me, but he does a lot more of that sort of fishing.
Joel Ward Hi mate, we are using the Shimano Nexave Winklepicker. It's a short 9-10ft feeder rod. I'm not sure if they are made anymore. If you watch some of our newer video's we now incorporate a tackle list in the video description. Hope this helps! :-)

Hi Danny, yeah normal groundbait works fine too, you just need to make sure its the right consistency etc
Thanks! There are some nice fish in the lake! The hook length is around 4-6 inches in length. Cheers

hi I want to ask you how thick is your line?
Great videos man!
Good work :)
Do you clip the line or just hit that distance every time ?? I'm not the most accurate with my casting
Hi SWINDLA87 when fishing commercials we normally like to use the line clip as it aids casting accuracy, however it's just a case of practice I guess! Steve's a lot better at casting than me, but he does a lot more of that sort of fishing.
From The Waters Edge TV Cheers mate I'll keep practicing
How much is the rod you're using?
can you just do the same with ground bait?
I love rod fishing ... I dont like fishing with pole never tried it , but doesnt look exiting as much
What's the name of the rod you're using ?
How long were you out on the lake on this video to catch these fish
About four hours Bradley, we fished an evening session, so 6.00 till 10.00 or something.
Thank you
As a general rule how often do you recast a method feeder I am just getting into it and have no idea
There's no hard and fast rule Luke, depends on the lake I'm fishing and how many fish are in there. Best to experiment with times etc
Thankyou is there a time you would class as a maximum to leave it out if it hasn't happened
No worries Luke. As a very very rough guide, perhaps 30-40 minutes in the winter and 15-20 minutes in the summer.
What's a good rod to buy which one is he using
Joel Ward Hi mate, we are using the Shimano Nexave Winklepicker. It's a short 9-10ft feeder rod. I'm not sure if they are made anymore. If you watch some of our newer video's we now incorporate a tackle list in the video description. Hope this helps! :-)
and what length rod is that 8/9/10/11
What's the biggest carp that you have ever caught on the method feeder.
Hi mate, I don't know, I think Steve's had them to nearly 20lb using it.
What type of rod are you using please
It was an old Shimano Winklepicker Peter, I think it might have been discontinued now, but there's tonnes of excellent short rods on the market. :-)
What strength line is he using??
Hi +Powered Python about 6-8lb I believe, it was so long ago I can't remember exactly.
can u catch big carp on this method
You could do +Matt Huthwaite you'd just need to step up your tackle and stuff.
nice dude plz come to paris and fish on canal st denis ^^ so hard to fish alot of fish sometime we hook so nice fish sometime nothing
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! You never know, one day we might make it over! :-)
trés beaux poissons
Good carp fish
Thanks shahid akram :-)
good
it was atleast 6-7lb
if the second to last fish was 6-7lb iv been catching a lot more doubles than i thought
I mean doesnt look much of a fight when u pull it with a pole
im not saying it wasnt, im bad with weights
when it bends that's magic and explaining people how it work they dont understand :-D
Haha, I know what you mean, it's something only us fishermen understand!
