    Hi Jahful, its a Dawia Team Daiwa 10ft feeder rod... perfect for the small chucks on commercial fisheries, is a lovely action... so soft when playing hard fighting fish right under the rod tip!

    Great stuff Sam, glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time to comment! :-) The rod we are using is a Daiwa Team Daiwa 10ft Feeder rod, its a great rod for commercial fisheries and has a superb fish playing action! As you can see it virtually bends from the butt to the tip! Its perfect for pinging out little method and pellet feeders to islands and features etc

    Hi Danny, yeah normal groundbait works fine too, you just need to make sure its the right consistency etc

    Thanks! There are some nice fish in the lake! The hook length is around 4-6 inches in length. Cheers

    Hello, the rod we are using is a Daiwa Team Daiwa feeder rod, if you google it, it should appear. I cant post links on here if not I would do. Hope this helps. Cheers :-)

    I used the same type of method feeder on a match lake the other day. Used a layer of red krill groundbait then a mixture of marine halibut krill + the source pellets pushed into it. These were soaked in amino dip. Then a very sweet tutti fruiti soaked soft cherry or scopex pellet on a hair rig. Long hook length. It worked a treat! Best run was 6 carp in 1 1/4 hrs. very effective way of fishing. Will definetly be using same method again!

    Hi Gigamlat! Thanks for the kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video! For fishing with pellet or sweetcorn we would use a size 14-18 sized hook. Drennan and Gamakatsu are two very good brands. The guru hooks are also very good, just try and match the hook size to the size of your hook bait and to the size of fish that are in the lake. Hope this helps a little! Cheers and tight lines.

    Hi Jack, if you buy a heavy(ish) method feeder, semi fix it and use a short hooklength then yes, in most cases the fish will hook themselves. Hope this helps.

    To see the tip movement at night we would use something called a starlight or Isotope, you can buy a neat little attachment that fits to the end of your quiver tip which you can attach your starlight or isotope too... That is probably the best way. :-)

    I fished it with a carp rod. The tip on that still shot round when I had a bite. Just kept it at 90degrees to where I was fishing. I covered my hook bait in tutti fruiti glug. I put another layer of groundbait over hook bait. My groundbait was mixed very damp. Thanks for showing how to sink the line easily. Will have to remember that for next time.

    Hi from Croatia, great video and a nice fishing session :)
    I got a question about the hook size and brand of the hook. Fishing on the method feeder here is quite rare, so pellets are rarely used. In many places (at least near me) the fish haven't seen anything but sweetcorn.. What size of hook would you recomend me for using with sweetcorn and what brand (Korda, Owner, Gamakatsu, Maruto, Drennan...)?

    Do you clip the line or just hit that distance every time ?? I'm not the most accurate with my casting

    • @FromTheWatersEdgeTV
      @FromTheWatersEdgeTV  10 років тому

      Hi SWINDLA87 when fishing commercials we normally like to use the line clip as it aids casting accuracy, however it's just a case of practice I guess! Steve's a lot better at casting than me, but he does a lot more of that sort of fishing.

    As a general rule how often do you recast a method feeder I am just getting into it and have no idea

    • @FromTheWatersEdgeTV
      @FromTheWatersEdgeTV  7 років тому +1

      There's no hard and fast rule Luke, depends on the lake I'm fishing and how many fish are in there. Best to experiment with times etc

    • @lukedorrington7455
      @lukedorrington7455 7 років тому

    • @FromTheWatersEdgeTV
      @FromTheWatersEdgeTV  7 років тому

      No worries Luke. As a very very rough guide, perhaps 30-40 minutes in the winter and 15-20 minutes in the summer.

    • @FromTheWatersEdgeTV
      @FromTheWatersEdgeTV  10 років тому

      Joel Ward Hi mate, we are using the Shimano Nexave Winklepicker. It's a short 9-10ft feeder rod. I'm not sure if they are made anymore. If you watch some of our newer video's we now incorporate a tackle list in the video description. Hope this helps! :-)

    • @FromTheWatersEdgeTV

      It was an old Shimano Winklepicker Peter, I think it might have been discontinued now, but there's tonnes of excellent short rods on the market. :-)
