- Xbox Games Showcase 2023 is less than 1 week away and Xbox fans are starting to feel the HYPE and EXCITEMENT! Especially since Aaron Greenberg came out on Twitter and said he isn't tempering anyone's expectations this time.

We always hype these showcases up only for them to be underwhelming. But I really have a good feeling about this one. Please xbox, just get it right.

Dude most of the showcases Xbox has had have met expectations.
The vast majority of the time, the showcases are perfectly fine. People are just dumb.

10 / 10! I’m sure it’s going to be an AMAZING show! They are showing a lot of stuff and that’s all I asked for, even if not everything suits my taste it will be refreshing to finally see games we have been hearing about for years and not yet seen anything! This showcase will definitely give us a glimpse of Xbox’s roadmap for the next few years.

You do know Aaron has always been the person to keep telling everyone to temper their expectations, basically who some people thought for some reason to always “ruin the fun”. So the fact that he is showing hype is definitely something to take in

If they show a lot of exclusive games coming to Xbox with new IPs plus games we have already seen with release dates and gameplay, 60 fps plus played on Xbox not on pc it would be a big W for Xbox
This could quite possibly be the best showcase by Xbox of all time.
I think the reason for Xboxs Tweet was the "Coming to PS5" on the bottom of those 3rd Party trailers. For the people who aren't in the know, it sounds like "Only on PS5" due to Playstations track record. Plus they were mixed in with actual PS exclusives. It was kinda sneaky lol

The big difference between Sony heading into their showcase and Microsoft heading into this one is the length of time since their studios released games. All of Sony's biggest studios had dropped games in the past 3 years. Meaning that bar Insomniac who's release cadence bucks industry averages, most of those studios won't have games for 2 to 5 years. Xbox on the other hand, has all these studios they acquired that haven't put out games for over 3 years. Meaning they should have lots of games coming in the next 2 years. Whether they are good or bad remains to be seen but there should be a stupidly high number of games on the way for Xbox.
I thought the underwear comment was a joke about that PS insider who said you will need an extra pair of underwear for the PS Showcase.
The reason why fans are so often disappointed with these shows is because the shows always include a bunch of games they're not interested in.
Normally, if MS, Nintendo or Sony were to come out & reveal a highly anticipated game, people would be stoked. But if there's 40 other games shown off you don't care about, you somehow feel less excited.
I see this all the time with Nintendo Directs. You had a ton of ppl begging for TotK or Metroid, then when they get it, people are still bummed the rest wasn't also huge bombshells.
So even if MS shows off Fable, Avowed, Starfield, Forza, Everwilds & Hellblade 2, people will think a show is "mid" if the rest in between isn't massive reveals. Where's Perfect Dark? Where's the new Gears? Where's Elder Scrolls 6?
Unless it's just reveal after reveal of huge rumored games, people will somehow be upset. They think EVERY game has to target their specific interests, even if MS is trying to give something for everyone.

I’m excited for sure. I think two gameplay walkthroughs, Starfield walkthrough and a good amount of further explaining of 2020s stuff would be enough for me to call it great
I've not seen that many wild speculations around the showcase, most seem to be about games announced between 2020 and 2021, and I expect many would be ready for showing this year.
However one thing he did say did temper my expectations, he said no 'full CGI' trailers, which suggests to me, we won't see games more than two years away from release as I would expect CGI for those. That' not a bad thing, if anything has me hopeful that the past 5 years of putting in the pieces to be able to deliver multiple first party games every year is finally starting to pay off and we are going to see 'Xbox has no games' meme well and truelly die.
Can't wait. I'm going to the Melbourne Showcase event (as I did last year) and after what we were subjected to from Sony, this can't not be a great event!
I'm not even sure they took the CG thing to heart as much as the stuff is just ready to show now. But I think the show will be at least a 9/10. You know, based on my expectations, which are different from what others may have.

God I hope they announce a collectors edition for Starfield. It's been too long since an Xbox first party game had an Official collectors edition (Halo Infinite's merchant made ones don't count)
Broke down and finally bought the Xbox X. I really wanted to wait though for this 😂 just taking too long and I’m impatient
RedFall had like about five different themed offical collectors controllers for it or something.... us Xbox need more controllers, we never have these. We have too many high quality first party games and not nearly enough controllers being released...
@@leecroft7311 You do realize the difference between themed controllers and a collectors edition right? Because only a brain dead idiot would think that a collectors edition is the same thing as having themed controllers. Quite a few games (of varying success) have themed controllers but usually only large games have collectors editions, for better or worse.

It really doesn’t matter what games they show if they don’t release games not to their potential. And they need bangers right now. They need a 3rd person action/adventure game. Everyone doesn’t like 1st person games all the time

I'll still keep my expectations tempered, but this confidence means they have something big planned and ready. I guess the show can, AT THE VERY LEAST, be better than the PlayStation Showcase
You said largely what I did. Agreed. But I'd say they already beat Sony's event even before it starts. I think what they are doing now is going for the kill.

Hellblade 2 has already been shown a few times. But there’s enough hype around the game to show it again. The only one I’m not sure on is state of decay 3, ever wild, and outter worlds 2. I doubt those are here
I won’t lie I’m mad hyped for this, would love to see hellblade 2 gameplay, I would pass out if we got a gears 6 teaser or trailer, very much looking forward to fable. Very very excited man hope we get some crazy stuff

Xbox showcases have been the best in recent years which is why I am hyped as usual for the upcoming showcase.
My excitement level is neutral. I'm definitely looking forward to the show though. I want to be surprised though.
Like most of us, I too will keep my expectations normal/low, but I do have a feeling this showcase will be really good. I’m excited for SOD3, hopefully they show gameplay.

I honestly think they'll start the show with fable. If they close the show it kind of ruins the tease since they usually say in these conferences, "we have one more thing to show you." I think the end should be held for something that's a bit .more of a surprise. Like a new game announcement.
I don't hate the idea of TV/shows at a games showcase but let us know ahead of time so we know we're getting both
I'm still tempering expectations until the show is over but I was going to be happy with Starfield, Forza & Hellblade...so adding Fable, maybe Avowed & 1 or 2 new 1st party announcements would be good enough...along with a bunch of new / updates for third party Game Pass games will be a great show
My hypebis a solid 8 I really do believe that Xbox is taking notes and learning. from their mistakes and from PlayStations too.

Fable, Hellblade , Starfield are three big titles . If they nail those with some dates and give the avowed fans something to chew on as well this will be a success of a showcase
My excitement is at a 5 to a 6 due to the strikes against them concerning Starfield. Strike 1 was them shooting themselves in the foot saying nov 11/22 was the release date...DELAYED to EoFY23. Strike 2 is it's being released at 30fps instead of 60fps that they said it would be released at. If the delay until EoFY23 was to make sure they released it running at 60fps then more power to them, but as of right now that doesn't seem to be the case. So what's really going on? That's the main reason why i've lowered my excitement level.

I think he misunderstood when Aaron said "Hold The Line" ...thats Captain Kirrahe from Mass Effect 1 !!! 1 of my favorite video game memories of all time.
I’m skeptical to be honest. However they did have a pretty damn good Xbox direct when Hifi Rush was shadow dropped. We know that Starfield is going to be there and have it’s own direct showcase, that in itself already has the Sony showcase beat by a mile. The one question nobody asked A.A.Ron was will the gameplay be “captured on PC” or actual series X footage? That’s one of my concerns.

I'm definitely excited...on a scale from 1-10 probably an 8. I do try to keep my expectations in check, but I'd say I'm more optimistic for this showcase than I have been for any Xbox showcase in quite some time.

@@kevinlist3330 Can you please confirm the Spiderman 2 release date? The PS Showcase only said Fall 2023. Can you guarantee SM2 will hit the fall 2023 release date? Even as great as Insomniac is, they said in PS Lifestyle article from 6/5/23 that the SM2 release will come when the team is confidant.
Starfield has a release date of 9/6/23 and Phil Spencer said on the Kinda Funny Xcast that the ATG (Advanced Technology Group) has spent quite a bit of time helping out Starfield. Does that guarantee 60fps Performance Mode at launch? No. But Phil indicated that the ATG was called into help with Starfield well in advance, so the chances of 60fps at launch are much better. Just like the chances of SM2 hitting the general release date of Fall 2023 with Insomniac optimizing it are much better. 🍻
With all studios they work with i really hope there would be more and more AAA and AA exclusive games for xbox. A few games i really like there. (From PS5-PC gamer) 🎉

1. I am going to watch it with very low expectations. That way I can't be disappointed.
I feel like content creator hype is a little too high, and even journos are creating absurd lists on par with those fake leaks. I'm not necessarily saying "temper expectations", but I think folks should be expecting the unexpected (and not something bigger than expected). Nice indies and third party game pass inclusions. Maybe some stuff for 2024;. Maybe one known or semi-known thing for 2023.
So what good games are we getting?

I’m pretty hyped for Xbox showcase. I am a Sony pony, but I have a series x. I was extremely disappointed by the extended state of play, but it’s always about the games & Sony delivers. I do think that xbots need to slow their roll. Xbox has not delivered except for a couple of games for YEARS in their 1st party AAA games quality & mgmt. I hope it’s a decent showing. That’s what’s best for ps. Iron sharpens iron!
Not going to lie! I am an Xbox dude but I just bought My first Playstation . Found it at Costco for 550 ,2 controllers charging station and gow.

There gonna hype the hell out of it no matter what because it’s marketing and advertising. Even if it’s mid and not that good people still saw what they got going on. But I’m personally hype for it and expect it to be at the very least a 7/10 show
