9.5/10 for me, Atlus (and SEGA) really did it for me. With Fable, South of Midnight, and Clockwork Revolution solidifying my rating an Starfield took me hooome.

Already seeing a lot of haters, especially on IGN's comment sections, coping by calling the showcase trash or saying that all the games they showed looked awful. Absolutely hilarious.
That showcase was incredible and is honestly Xbox's version of Sony's E3 2015/16. Xbox delivered and then some. Unless you hate both Western RPGs and JRPGs, calling this showcase mediocre or bad is definitely being disingenuous. The Xbox show made Summer Games Fest and especially the PlayStation showcase look like nothing in comparison.

there was no mature shooters, no mention of a quake reboot or something that felt like it came out of the 360 era, it was cartoon games for the most part, the only thing that came out of that show was p3 remake and methaphor the rest was meh

@@agsmith43 If you're going to report on what Todd said you might as well report everything : That Starfield does indeed go higher and that it even hits 60fps. - - - They obviously made a creative decision here to lock it at 30fps. I'd imagine they'll eventually unlock it and let VRR take care of the rest for those that have a TV that supports it.

That's what I said too. And we have to remember that alot of kids & families play games that maybe we aren't interested in so we all rate games differently. A show might not be crappy when a variety of player genre's are shown

@@ronmexico7256 That's possible. I just know that alot of games we're excited about may not be bangers & we all have different tastes & preferences. I played AC Odyssey for 2 years straight, others couldn't get past a few levels & they were bored or angry about the new direction Ubi took.
I liked a few things & quite a few of them are in Game Pass - what are players losing by trying them a few mos on Game Pass?
I just don't see alot for them to whine about (esp after seeing the PS & Summer showcases!. By comparison, this one ruled).

Overall a 9/10 showcase, but I'm disappointed in Hellblade 2, they should have shown more combat focused gameplay. Other than that a very solid showing.

It was a really good showcase and on top of that Starfield looks INSANE. For me it was a 8.5/9, the only thing was that I wished we got just a tad bit more of Fable & Hellblade 2
Todd Howard pulled out the Game of the Generation not only GOTY, what we saw, the level of depth, the visuals, the skill tree, the dialogue, the total immersion is so far ahead of any PS exclusive past present and future. It’s like comparing a Nolan movie to a Marvel movie, levels and I mean levels higher a total non comparison and then when your factor in what the modders are going to achieve with this game oh my oh my oh my

@@Jza-GZa To be fair... CyberPunk 2077 is one of the best looking games and still is. It was just screwed by bugs and problems. The game just wasnt ready and they pushed it out anyway. If Starfield has a decent launch without being killed by bugs and crashes, it will be a banger.
As for 2077 expansion, hands on reviews from GameFest are very positive. That is due to QOL improvements and fixing crap that should have been done before it launched.

I mean the ideas behind Base building IS Nothing for me but the ship building IS Something i am interessantesten in. But i am Not Sure If i will try that Game in PC or console because i habe the Feeling that fornthe PC i have to Upgrade and for the console IT will be Like cyberpunk2077 (this is why i got cp2077 fornthe PC and IT was enjoyable)
My favorite game was Clockwork Revolution. Seems really cool.

10/10 5 points go to simply being better than the PlayStation showcase. This show absolutely delivered we have a better roadmap seen every game in engine and got a lot of gamepass announcements as well as some much needed new marketing from Xbox. There should be no reason any Xbox fan should be upset not only due to how great Xbox is doing but because the competition ain’t much better. If you not satisfied now you never was and never will be and that’s a personal problem

9/10 minimum for me. Gears would have put them over the top. Very hard to not walk away from this one happy. I totally get why if they are not ready to show that one off.

I will say the showcase is A+. However, now Xbox HAS to deliver. I love my Xbox and all the memories I've had with the console family, but I need Xbox to pull through.

I think I made the best choice when picking up Series X instead of PS5 this gen. I've been playing PS consoles (PS3, PS4, PSP, Vita) because of Persona games, thought that I need to get PS5 sometime later if next Persona games to be announced. But P3 remake and P5 tactic including new IP from Persona maker announced first time on Xbox showcase got my jaw dropped while watching the stream especially with them announced to be released day one on Game Pass!

Dude agreed! I was really shocked to see that Persona 3 Remake and Persona 5 Tactics were not only announced at the Xbox show, but were also day-one on Game Pass. Those are the first JRPGs to ever be day-one on Game Pass, I think. Also I don't think anyone was ever expecting Project Re: Fantasy to be rerevealed at the Xbox showcase after a 7-year-absence of updates from that game (it was first announced under a codename back in 2016 w/ no trailer).
Finding out afterwards Starfield doesn't have a performance mode was a bit of a letdown...30 fps stinks.
But it definitely was a great showcase.
If the developer targets a steady 30fps, it can be great. 60fps is really only needed for multi-player games. A steady 4k 30fps for a single player game is all that is needed.

One of the underrated elements of the show, and something which contrasts hugely with the Sony showcase, is the amount of new IPs and the variability within those. While Sony continues down the road of milking their franchises for all they're worth, or third party gating popular franchises, Xbox is trying stuff. New stuff.

It's the best Xbox showcase, i've seen for quite a few years. Starfield Collectors edition already pre ordered, 1st September can't come soon enough. I was really impressed, after years of somewhat lacklustre shows.
I went whole hog and pre-ordered the Constellation edition lol Game looks not only wide, but deep, and absolutely amazing. This'll be another Skyrim, being played 10+ years after release and still gaining new fans.
@Mikey C Yeah that's what i did, my mistake i put collectors instead of constellation. I was impressed with the show overall. My biggest criticism would be to see more gameplay as opposed in engine on some of the games. But i felt this is Xbox's best showing for quite some time and definitely the best games show this year.

I loved the show, 9/10! I did not except to see that much of Fable and was not concerned when it did not show combat. However, my one disappointment would be Hellblade 2. I have no doubt this is a beautiful game but my greatest concerns was the game play. I wanted to see improvements because that is what let Hellblade down in the last game. Starfield was the game that stole my heart. Bethesda makes some of the best immersive experiences of my gaming life. I have seen the passion for this game for years now and I am so excited my faith in Bethesda has payed off in spades. I haven’t played the game and I already know this will be my game of the year!

I was thinking 2018 also. Biggest difference is this was just pure game reveals. It was fantastic. Starfield is so much game. Holy crap that's a lot of game. If it runs solid, TotK has a huge challenge for GotY. I'm gonna be playing it in my 60's.

This was an absolute banger of a showcase. I think people will be disappointed in Starfield if they’re expecting it to be jam-packed to the brim with content, but if you go in with an open mind you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
im expecting something along the lines of a more detailed no man sky with combat, which is a good thing. i enjoyed the building mechanic of nms though.
Starfield looks absolutely incredible. The rest of the show was very solid. Would have liked more from Hellblade II including an early 2024 release date, but there was a lot to be excited for. Seems like we finally have a decent idea of the roadmap for Xbox for the next couple years.

A very good showing. Solid 8/10 some games were missing like Indiana Jones, Wolfenstein 3, Everwild and the likes of Stalker 2 and State of Decay 3. But some of these could be set for 2024/2025.

No it won't. Starfield looks good, but ToTK not only built up hype, but delivered on it too. Keep in mind in its first 3 days of release DESPITE the early pirating, ToTK outsold every PS5 exclusive from the last few years. Starfield may be good, but let's be real here, it's not gonna be hitting ToTK numbers.

Obsidian was not going for a "brighter Skyrim". Avowed is based in the Pillars of Eternity world. It is set in a place called The Living Lands. It is a kind of a frontier of that world. That place is said to have many exotic and colorful vegetation as well as fauna. It should look the way it does. It's not due to Obsidian "always making bright games" or wanting to make a "brighter Skyrim". The setting was already established long before from their past titles.

Best showcase in a long while. I couldn't even remember when they had the last good one to be honest. I don't think every game they showed is for me but those that do really piqued my interest. I wasn't really interested with Starfield but after the showcase, I can see myself getting playing it for countless hours. Day 1 purchase? Nah, but probably months after it's patched.
I think it’ll run really well they showed gameplay on SX and it’s made for next gen on SX,It’ll be their best game since skyrim!
I give the Xbox Show case a 10/10 A+ - Easily one of my favorite showings from Xbox. I watched it twice in 4K 60fps. Xbox actually streamed it in 4K which was great!! Much better then the 1080p streams.
I enjoyed every game they showed. And pretty much every game said day one on Game Pass. Then finally they end it with a 45 minute Starfield direct… That game looked amazing!!
Honestly if Xbox did every showcase coupled with one of their big game directs at the end… man that would be the best!! What a way to close out a showcase!

Starfield at 30fps shouldn't be so bad outside of combat.
I kinda wanted to see more gameplay segments as opposed to in engine stuff for the Xbox showcase, but starfield had the best game deep dive I've ever seen so I'd say 9/10 if were grading them both together.
I thought they said everything was going to be gameplay but knew that was a lie. Starfield really saved the show, but that game seems to be ambitious in my opinion.

They said they wouldn’t show cgi trailers either and all of this only for Xbox game studios’ games so they delivered what they promised. I’m not defending them tho, the only game I care about is fable and that in-game trailer looks like a TV comercial.

I will go ahead and say that starfield is going to be my game of the year if not game of this decade.
Not only will I have this on game pass, but I’m also going to be pre ordering.

They didn't kill it they showed stuff that was leaked and hinted at 🤷 no date for Fable, 2024 for avowed and many others, October 10th release of Forza bad month to bring that out plus we should already have it🤷. I feel the Xbox fanboys were happy but those of us with level heads are still saying look we are waiting for Avowed, Hellblade 2, fable ect. Still waiting will they come out next year find out on the new adventures of the Xbox platform 🤷.

It was a cool showcase. More gamplay from 1st party would of helped. And I hope fable isn’t locked to that female character but given the photo realistic look that’s probably the way they’re going. I was looking forward to creating my character per usual but great gameplay could save it for me. And avowed looked downgraded to me

I was not interested in Star Field at all until yesterday. Game looks epic.
The direct was S+!!! Starfield alone was insane. Gonna spend the rest of my life on this game.

Fable's trailer actually has me a little worried about the direction of the game. The Star Wars Outlaws trailer was a disappointment for me. Starfield is going to be amazing!
As a HUGR Fable fan, that trailer make me want to scream. In a bad way btw. Microsoft ruins everything they touch it seems.
Was a great show. I found the Sony one mideocre at best. Luckily with 12 games that will also come to xbox 😅 Summerfest ... a tat better. But also with some multiplatformers. And xbox had a show with games that weren't seen at any of the 2 mentioned shows. So including the xbox exclusives, gamepass ones and the other not mentioned, but that we know off ... the xbox future look bright. Not that i ever doubted, but still ... good to know. All in all .. the Xbox show was the best so far this year.
i still wish we got something on state of decay 3 but we got starfield even better
Fable just doesn't capture the same wonderful vibe of Fable 1 and 2. I'm hoping for the best though.
State of Decay 3, Outer Worlds 2, Gears 6, Perfect Dark, Everwild and more than likely Hexen still to come!

Great show, loved most of it. Only disappointments were no gears announcements, and stafield is 30 fps on XSX, so yet another XB game I will be stuck on the PC with, bc I dont do 30.
If 30 fps bothers you kid go play on PC. Starfield will be the greatest game ever made and if 30 fps isn't good enough for you because that's what the internet told you, then don't play it. I'll be loving every minute of the greatest game ever made at 30fps :)
Loved the showcase well pased and decently stacked
It was way better than the PS showcase, MS showed a lot of 1st party games compared to Sony which only really showed Spiderman 2 at their event. Though its funny how the haters were like "Xbox has no games" to "well i dont like those games anyways" lol.
