You Asked: Update: Beretta 96A1 - 6 Years Later!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 жов 2020
- We have have gotten quite a few update requests for this Beretta 96A1. So here it is, as a well as a link (below) to our original review from about six years ago when our channel was still pretty new. This was one of the reasons that Hammer started liking 40 S&W! The 9mm Beretta 92 and M9 (& M9a1, M9a3, etc.) series should be good choices if you don't want a 40 cal.

My experiences have proven that I shoot the 40 s&w more accurately through a Beretta 96 than any other pistol chambered in that caliber. If Beretta Corp is accepting feedback, a 96X would be nice :)
96X isn’t happening. .40 is dead sales wise.
Bought a 96A1 back in 2013. I still love it. Such a great sidearm.
I bought one 2014ish. In 2016 I attended the 40 hour FBI Firearms Instructor ( LE ) course. To get in you have to shoot and pass their Qual course. I ditched my issued Glock 22 and shot my 96A1. 279/300 was my score. The gun ran flawlessly that week and Ive never had a pistol or magazine caused stoppage out of any of the four 92/96 pattern pistols I own. 10's of thousands of rounds fired from these guns and only a few ammo related stoppages, and a single broken locking block on a 1996 mfg 96 model, after 35-40k rounds thro7gh it.
Good review; Beretta puts out quality products. I have a CX4Storm 40 cal and am very pleased with it - looks like I'll be getting the 96a1 too.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for this update. Looks like it held up really well. I have so much .40 ammo left over from my grandpa hoarding (at least 8,000 FMJs and 200 HPs) and I'm starting to look at my first .40 caliber gun to shoot them. A Beretta 96 is one of my top options so far.
Consider the PX4.
@@zekemassey7739 is he supposed to feel guilty for being handed down his grandpa’s stash? It’s always good to prepare so you’re not caught with your pants down.
Nice review. I'd like to get a full size pistol and this is at the top of the list. The grips on yours are awesome.
I've had mine for a little over 3 years I have Wilson Combat grips on mine love it
I got a 96A1 in 2011 best hand gun I've ever had , I also have a usp compact 45, p10c 9mm, glock20 10mm autoan a 22 an a 23 - 40 cal, a Springfield xd45 tactical, Ruger p89 9mm , Ruger p90 45
Waiting on that 96x...Beretta you listening?
@Ethan Mac i hate that they made the slide ''thicker''
Nice looking pistol. Not sure I would want a 40 Cal. I have the 92FS and it is a joy to shoot. Just like everybody else I wish ammo was cheaper. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve come to be a diehard wood and steel fan, and I love the beretta design. Second only to the 1911a1 in my opinion. I plan to have 2 of each. A 92a1 and 96a1, then a Springfield mil spec and an inherited military colt 1911a1
My son bought a 96A1 a month ago. After putting several boxes of ammo through it, it's easily the most accurate handgun I've ever used. At 10yds and under we could call our shots. The bullet went exactly where the front sight post covered every time. I was in disbelief after we were able to hit individual 1" squares on the target and eventually even the pupils and tiny, individual teeth in the skeleton targets on command.
Definitely one of the nicest looking pistols out there. I love those wood grips. I have an older Italian 92fs with stock black grips. I may need to get some wood ones like yours. Thanks for the video.
3:40 Don't underestimate a P320 owner, they'll manage to make it go off in a holster with the hammer down and no round in the chamber
What a beauty.
The 96A1 is the only 96 Beretta still in production . The regular 96 or 96 Brigardier are all out of production. Very view manufacturers still offer models in 40 S&W.
I need to get one. So beautiful 😍
92/96 is by far the most beatiful pistol for me.
beretta was bad for having 13lb recoil springs in their 96 centurion almost sold mine changed to 18lb spring what a difference. If a gun shoots great but beats your hand check the recoil spring
Love my A3. Just hate that thumb safety works in opposite direction of an 1911 🙄
Probably gonna be my first gun here shortly.
a couple of dabs of some high visibility paint will fix your sighting issue.
Any good info or test around a Beretta 96 in .357 SIG?
Thank you!
Funny to say the 96 also comes in 9mm when there are probably 1,000 92s in use for very 96.
I enjoyed this video I did not hear you mention the round count on the gun can you tell me approximately how many rounds you have fired with that pistol
Thank you. We are likely between 1k and 2k, we generally don't track rounds but when we do go out it is usually about 100-150 rds per pistol per outing.
Thank you, enjoyed your vidoe!
@@HammerStriker how many malfunctions do you typically get?
That's kinda odd. While I own an Italy made 92FS I prefer the 96 A-1 in .40S/W in terms of terminal performance. Evidently I disagree with your position.
The 96A1 shoots okay. It handles .40 pretty well, maybe recoils a bit less than a Gen 4 G22, have to compare it against a USP .40. The Px4 in .40 seems to recoil less. That said, shooting a 9mm 92 variant next to the .40 and you really notice the degraded follow up shots when you get in the 15-25 yard range. Also, .40 doesn't line up as well with the chamber as the 9mm does, so it will have to utilize the feed ramp
Recoil is mostly felt recoil. I saw a review of the 96 vs PX4. The reviewer said the PX4 has less felt recoil but just from watching the PX4 had more muzzle rise. But this is not so unlogical. When the recoil energy is transfered more into the flip you will have less felt recoil.
I have a dumb question...
when you de-cock the weapon, and them flip the safety off
does the ball stay in the safe position?
Safety on,ball is up…..safety off,ball is down.
Yes it does until you flip it up then she's ready to go
Where can I buy this grips in 2021? Also, where can I buy a beretta 96a1 in 2021?
You can still get them directly from Beretta on their web store.
I picked one up in April, only took me two stores to find it. And same price as a 92fs without a rail...
The 40 S&W my first one was a Browning Hi Power 40 S&W 1993 then a Beretta CX4 Storm 40 S&W a Beretta 96A1 40 S&W a SIG 226 40 S&W and a Ruger GP 100 40 S&W / 10 MM. i carre a one of them for city and the CX4 Storm for my Backpack and truck gun to i do shoot and carre 45 ACP 45 LC 10 MM & 22 LR to for my hand guns .
Is it full metal frame?
Yes, the frame is metal (alloy).
All metal
If I planned on spending $1 a round, that’s definitely the one I’d get.
33cpr for 9mm for the range 40cpr for 40 for the range... unless you are burning carry ammo for fun the difference isn't that dramatic.
