It just goes to show how much a marvel Baldur’s Gate 3 is. Not only because it was an exceptional game but because it actually accomplished the bare minimum at launch and didn’t shove microtransactions down your throat.

Capcom should sell additional save slots like Komami did for Metal Gear: Survive. Looking at some of these comments, I know it would sell like gangbusters.
New releases have just way outpaced what consoles are graphically capable of. Then there’s the issue with the fact that consumers will often choose pretty graphics over good performance. So instead of just scaling down the graphics for their games to get 60FPS, they cap it at 30fps to get all the dummies that only care about graphics.
Developers took that power and used it for shinier graphics at 30fps rather than for the same level graphics as last gen but with better performance 🤷🏻♀️
Visuals > performance has been the standard since like at least the 7th gen m8. Meanwhile I'm sitting here using my $3000 PC to play Sega Saturn games because they're that CPU intensive.

Charlie tried to play that game on stream on his PC and it crashed on him ALL the time. Through the 2h stream he played very little of the game(15 min, he said). He couldn't even get through character creator. and he tried everything. Lowering the optimization, reinstalling the game, rebooting his computer, re-installing the drivers..., capping FPS and nothing worked.

i tried the game after enjoying Devil may cry 5, supposedly the same director, but dragons dogma 1 sucked so hard, you were fighting the same enemies everytime. What good is the combat was nice but youre limited to like only 4 skills (cant remember) that can be switched at city, unlike in DMC 5 where you could use everything you wanted, just had to memorize the combos that were anyway easy to remember

6 months ago the president of Capcom said that their game prices were not high enough. Their greed has resulted in an increased cost to the consumer, and a decrease in quality of their product. If this is their new standard I won't be purchasing from them going forward.
BG3 has proper Early access process tho its not a good compare. They have probably years and years of dev with the EA. But i agree about the sentiment that AAA Games these days are dogpupu

While capcom hasnt specified DD2's development length, it's director has been on DD2 since 2019 so at least 5 years or so development I'd say. Capcom could've gone EA as well, but they don't operate like that, and likely felt it would result in a loss of sales. Larian on the other hand, desperately wanted community feedback to make the experience as good as possible for the customers, so EA was a win win for them.

A game that was this hyped, looking like the next Elden Ring, ending up shooting itself in the foot at the finish line is just sad. Removing Denuvo and deleting the MTX storefront is an easy and fast way for them to get back on track, but a company like Capcom would never. There should have been more pushback when RE4make added this same shit because this could have been avoided. Capcom thinks the extra cash they get from the MTX will be worth the hit to their reputation. Prove them wrong.

With games that are considered "AAA" reaching astronomical prices, you'd expect the performance and quality to match the price tag, but no, they can't even bother to perform a quality check through the first 5 mins of gameplay.
While I agree with you about performance, keep in mind that games have been $50-70 since the 90s. I remember buying Shadowman for the N64 for around $70. Adjust that for inflation and it’s either cheaper now, or roughly the same amount.
"A game has to make money somehow" yes, that used to mean they needed to sell copies, and their goal was to draw in as many customers as possible by providing an experience people WANTED to get involved in. AAA developers however have shifted to instead making games that draw in a specific subset of customers with an addictive experience designed to siphon out monthly revenue. This is not a model anyone should support. It is not what makes a healthy game ecosystem. It is just addiction simulators.
I remember this with Devil May Cry 5’s red orbs. You’d get so much in-game the MTX was redundant and worthless. Seems like an executive order just to tack them on.
And Resident Evil 4 remake added microtransactions after launch. Why people are all of a sudden outraged when those games did the exact same thing is beyond me.

I saw the $95 price tag and the long list of microtransactions that included basic gameplay features and was like "nah, I'll spend my money elsewhere."
The argument has come full circle. in the early 2000s, it was "you don't need to buy it; you can get the buffs from normal gameplay." Then, publishers started making the games take longer and longer to do a thing, so the paid buffs were more enticing. Then, we get the likes of Star Wars: Battlefront (the remake) and Gran Turismo 7. Don't let them try to make us complacent again. Just because it's not necessary, doesn't mean it isn't insidious.

The thing about MTX and to people defending them "but you don't need them" - this is measured internally for future titles. "How many convenience dlc's" are people purchasing, to understand and change the drop rates for future titles to increase that revenue. Allowing it and not calling it out means next game it won't be so fast to obtain these items in game. And then instead of "you can get this in-game in an hour" it will be "but you can just play for a day". That's 100% how this will go if nobody calls it out.
See i would believe this if this wasnt tried in the xbox 360 and ps3 title. People didnt buy it then because access to said info was limited. People played the game and realised that everything was in game and buying rc was pointless. Its why it was removed in the dark arisen title update and future releases. I can 100% understand MTX as a means to sustain an indie company or a F2P (as long as its not full shark P2W), I do not agree with MTX - usable items - in this. Edit: DD1 has soundtrack as MTX, which I think makes perfect sense for people that enjoyed the music to be able to purchase it separately. They can/should add artbooks like other games as MTX and I don't think there would have been any backlash.

Cyberpunk 2077 had performance issues at launch and I waited for it to be a patched a year later and even then that game had major performance issues for a long time. Capcom is even worse.
Yo i love larian and BG3 but it was not exactly a bug free experience. It had a ton of problems especially after Act 1. The reason people were so able to look past it though was because it had so much more substance than anything else that came out around that time.
I'm pretty sure that Capcom was one of the studios who said "don't expect this kind of standard from us" when BG3 came out Polished on DAY 1 with No Microtransactions
Consoles can’t handle modern games as much anymore man. 30 fps should always be the expectation. 60 fps should be the hope. Games are getting larger not staying the same or getting smaller. The console can definitely handle it they just didnt do as much as they could to ensure it runs as well as possible. Already fixed. The microtransactions are completely optional, as everything is obtainable in game as well, as for the performance issues, that might take them a bit i guess.
One of the things that bothers me the most is that Denuvo restriction of 5 PC activations per day. It's not the worst I've ever seen but I don't like that it's going in that direction. How long until they adopt even more strict DRM measures that break the games in 10-20 years should something happen to any of the companies or Denuvo? I thought we've already been through this.

I love how mods have already undercut all the microtransactions too. Infinite save slots tool (+new game creation), all fast travel and revive items acquirable in-game at first merchant, and weightless inventory
That is why I practically adore modders, at this state of my life, I got to the point where I don't really need any more games. I just dowload mods to the ones I already have, and change them so much it practically feels like a different game, and many times it actually is, kind of. :') Modders are real gamers, gamers who actually make what other gamers want possible in their beloved game universes. Their hands are not tied with political correctness and laws.
I'm gonna say the same thing here that I have been saying for the last day: If you are surprised by the fact that the microtransactions are in the game, you have not been paying attention to Capcom for the last 5 years. Both DMC5 and RE4 Remake had similar microtransactions.
re4r introduced them slowly over time, which was a true ball twister. I played at launch, and the only thing was that stupid extra weapon you could get from the deluxe crap. Of course, mods get you them for free, which is how they should be. But you shouldnt have to do that. Later on is when they introduced the "buy spinels" and coins options on the store page.

dark arisen is my favorite game of. all. i avoided spoilers and saved my money for DD2 and this whole ordeal has left me so depressed ive not even been able to rant angrily about it and i can usually rant angrily for over an hour about anything at the drop of a hat but this is such a twisting of the knife that im just unable to even work up the will to be angry im just disappointed. im disappointed and i want this whole game stricken from my memory.
First DD had more than half of it scrapped. Second one is gonna forever be remembered as a DLC milking machine. Crapcom just hates money, they refuse to let DD be great.

The mtx seem more egregious with the single save slot issue. The messaging was terrible. I thought the fast travel was this big gameplay feature you had to accept, like the difficulty in darksouls, but now you can buy port crystals? There is a lot Capcom did here that was bad, beyond the mtx.

@@serafimdaserra8738 dude… there is no in game store. They’re sold separately, and you don’t have to purchase them, you can get every item in the game at a normal rate. The game isn’t balanced in any way that makes buying them look better. Capcom has always sold them for people who are simply lazy, or just suck. It’s the same thing for the RE4make. In RE4 remake they sold golden upgrade tickets that you could use to get the special upgrade for the weapons. They sold them on steam, separately as DLC for people who wanted them. Or you could just play RE4 remake and earn the golden tickets in game. I was able to get the upgrades for the weapons I main’ed with before the end of my first playthrough. I got the other upgrades on subsequent NG+ playthroughs, which made playing NG+ worth it. Capcom doesn’t tweak the balance of the game to make it super grindy so you have to buy the microtransactions, this is how they’ve always done it. As far as performance on pc, did you upgrade your drivers? I have a 3080ti and a i9-12900kf and in the last 10 hours of playing DD2 I have not had any crashes, framerate issues, instability issues, glitches, or bugs. And I’ve been in huge battles with allot of NPCs and pawns fighting around me.

@@highwindknight there is no microtransaction to purchase a save slot or start a new game, I just looked. It just wasn’t added to the steam version for whatever reason. The simple fix is to go into your steam file and delete your save manually. It takes .3 seconds.
Capcom doesnt listen and i been saying for years that when their few IP's they put everything in, and they're going to flub it the way they do things now, those other IP's actually asked for are still ignored. None of this surprised me, I never really felt much for Dragons Dogma in the first place. Until I see something like a GOOD NEW version of Lost Planet, Powerstone, DarkStalkers, Cyberbots or it's beat em up version that came before it, or the number of many things we asked for back, I'm just not buying anything out of Capcom anymore. Like many other big companies, they've lost their god damn minds and lost sight of making all over good games. They have to keep re selling their old ones, get reminded we want new versions of those old ones, and then promptly ignore their communities and th ink they know better of what they want and lose more players with every release. They use to be saved from their shenanigans by bringing Resident Evil around again. What's going to happen now that they over milked even that? Will they even KNOW how to make a good DarkStalkers or PowerStone? By listening to the WRONG people they made Lost Planet 3 instead of expanding off of what could've been from LP2 which is loved to this day, and yet they also LIED about FIXING IT so it could easily play on PC again. With Capcom's ill gotten goods from SFV, which wasn't even really good, they think they know whats good for the company, but it's only what's gotten a short term rise. And now I'm not even sure if they pulled their version of a Guardians of the Galaxy and give us the return of Rival Schools that if it can save their long game with the way they've gotten, and the direction they've gone internally. Especially now when other titles like RoboCop and HellDivers 2 proves it can make some damn good games with a fraction of the budget, know what works and expand upon it, and honoring fans and the likes of what that IP is. Unlike others I knew HellDivers 2 was going to be worth playing, for one I've also been a big pusher of just how fun ragdoll physics and a 3D dynamic environment can make for all kinds of un expected situations, and that means more gameplay, outcomes, and with it it's own kind of depth. I just dont feel that with Capcom anymore. I don't feel that dynamic fun with themes that appeal to me with a fair cost. 17 dollars for a Ninjaturtle skin or otherwise in a fighting game is just ludacris, I will not pay it. Eventually you'll find that breaking point where even the many players with no real self restraint to vote NO by not paying out from the wallet will also say no. Fun content that several can enjoy for a fair price and purchased in more numbers by today's math is a smarter move. It will in the end make more money in most cases. Especially if it's whats been asked for. The idea of common sense even in the markets seem to have gone extinct.
Capcom’s been doing this for over a decade. The first game had it at launch, they’ve had this stuff in Resident Evil since Revelations (and it’s certainly in recent games like the remakes), Devil May Cry has their blue and red orb packs going back to DMc 3 or 4, Monster Hunter has this shit. Seems like people are just now noticing or something. If we really want to put a cap on these in the future we really need to have these conversations, vids, and articles before the next game launches. Not after launch. People in the industry should not feel ‘surpised’ or ‘betrayed’ unless they’ve literally never played a Capcom game before. So lets all keep this in mind before Monster Hunter Wilds because that shit is basically garaunteed to be in there as well as usual. Also all of these are just sucker transactions really. You can get every one of these items in game fairly easily. And even with the mtx’s, they cap it at one purchase per player and it’s mostly just deluxe edition or preorder content that they’re offering to people who didn’t get it beforehand. I hate this kind of stuff in games but it’s not the end times that people are making it out to be at the same time.

Seeing some of the comments and some of the responses to this game's release makes me realise... WE DESERVE THIS. For each person that complains about the MTX and bad ports, you get 3 people who defend it. The mindset of "it's not necessary to buy the MTX, since the game lets you earn it" or "it will get patched later" is why we get stuff like this. And since these people will continue to accept it, it will keep getting worse and worse till we actually have to pay for reloading ammo or some bullshit like that. Whales who spend on MTX are bad, but people who defend it or excuse it are also the ones contributing to this problem.

Though I have seen people falsely claiming that making a new character or progressing in the game is only possible with MTX (when it is possible without it easily), most people are complaining about it's mere existence, and rightfully so. My problem isn't that people are complaining about it, it's why they chose NOW to complain about it, instead of the 50 million other microtransaction riddled games that were way scummier and did things way way worse. None of the microtransactions in this game paywall anything or are necessary. It's actually better than previous games, not worse.

@@PuthySlayer69420No, it’s pretty bad on consoles too. Uncapped frame rate so that means judder out the ass on non VRR displays which is still the vast majority of players, and that’s on top of plentiful drops into the 20’s. So the game in general is optimized terribly.
It's funny how back when these micro pay for conveniences were introduced in AAA games people hated it. Slowly but surely, a lot of players are accepting of these practices saying it's essential for the AAA to survive, it's there for lazy people to skip the grind, "it's my money, why you hating?". Imagine how it'll be for Gen Alpha or beyond, those new gamers will feel like these things are the norm.
It's the opposite actually. Back then people don't really complain about MTX because most of it were simply small additions that were not essential. The idea of MTX being basically gambling were still not widespread. As the years goes on, developers start realizing how much money they can rake in by turning MTX into a gambling machine, and as MTX gets more and more absurd people rightfully complain about them more and more. It might be my personal bias, but I believe this trend started from games like NBA 2K, FIFA, and Madden that introduced Ultimate Team modes with packs that you can buy with in game currency. UA-camrs started doing pack opening streams, and this only draws further attraction to buying packs and therefore in game currency. I believe these packs started in the early 2010s, and back then people just thought it was really cool to get these cards and they didn't mind them. Another game that brought massive popularity to MTX is CS GO with their boxes for skins. Again, back then people loved these skins and the voices against it are mostly mute. UA-camrs then started streaming reaction to getting rare skins, which draws people to buying boxes of their own, which promotes further MTX.
I love how they still kept the annoying things from DD1 and just added the option to buy away the annoyance. They even kept the single save only thing, these devs really baffle me.
I Think the thing that bothers me the most about the Microtransactions in this game is that no one knew when pre ordering the game that the game had them.
I pre-ordered it, played it, had a blast had no idea they were there. Ridiculously easy to ignore and the game isn't built around having to buy them. I think this is all a little overblown
the few times i play a game for full price and this is the shit that happens, if a high end pc cant play the game smooth without crashes, imagine a laptop 4 years old now

It's sad as I just finished my run with Dogma 1 and was pleasantly surprised with the game offered me, and was genuinely excited for what Dogma 2 has to offer. I even saved money to buy Dogma 2 right away from a nearby game store BUT, I'm well aware with the AAA, AAAA whatever incidents and know darn well I shouldn't EVER pre order games and that's what I did. And honestly disappointed with the bad release of Dogma 2. I might just wait for them to fix the game or I'll just buy the money i saved for some food and actually play the games I have in my backlog instead.
About the Single Save File. It has to do with the pawn system, Pawns are bound to your account, since pawns are a online function and cost server space. Having people make multiple save files with unused Pawns would clog the actual game with low level unused Pawns, when playing online. That's why DD1 also only had 1 save file.

The game was good to me until i got to postgame. As a DD1 fan the post game is DD2 is a huge downgrade compared to what you could do postgame in DD1. In DD1 once you did a new game plus all monsters were stronger and they added a towards the end where you could farm endlessly. There is a fucking timer in DD2 post game and they only included like 4 new monsters in which the strongest of the four (dragon) is fucking trash. Im fucking disgusted

I honestly have had a wonderful time with the game, if they improve the performance in cities and the CPU load npcs have I think more people could get into it and enjoy it, but outside cities I don't have any performance issues myself, and the games combat is amazing.

I love how 60fps was supposed to be the standard for this new generation of consoles and pc hardware, yet most new games can barely go above 30fps.
New releases have just way outpaced what consoles are graphically capable of. Then there’s the issue with the fact that consumers will often choose pretty graphics over good performance. So instead of just scaling down the graphics for their games to get 60FPS, they cap it at 30fps to get all the dummies that only care about graphics.
Gamers are still obsessed with graphics. Remember when they made a big deal about a puddle in spiderman? Lol or how about “the door” on FF7 remake?
I don't get it either. Some games are very great looking on Console and run just fine...and then we get trash like this. I blame lazy ass devs.
Developers took that power and used it for shinier graphics at 30fps rather than for the same level graphics as last gen but with better performance 🤷🏻♀️

Charlie tried to play that game on stream on his PC and it crashed on him ALL the time. Through the 2h stream he played very little of the game(15 min, he said). He couldn't even get through character creator. and he tried everything. Lowering the optimization, reinstalling the game, rebooting his computer, re-installing the drivers..., capping FPS and nothing worked.
That's a problem he should figure put about his rig considering mine is way less than anything he has and it runs smooth as fucking silk

i tried the game after enjoying Devil may cry 5, supposedly the same director, but dragons dogma 1 sucked so hard, you were fighting the same enemies everytime.
What good is the combat was nice but youre limited to like only 4 skills (cant remember) that can be switched at city, unlike in DMC 5 where you could use everything you wanted, just had to memorize the combos that were anyway easy to remember

6 months ago the president of Capcom said that their game prices were not high enough. Their greed has resulted in an increased cost to the consumer, and a decrease in quality of their product. If this is their new standard I won't be purchasing from them going forward.

@@extinctbaryonyx BG3 was in development for around 6 years and in early access for about 3 of those 6. While capcom hasnt specified DD2's development length, it's director has been on DD2 since 2019 so at least 5 years or so development I'd say.
Capcom could've gone EA as well, but they don't operate like that, and likely felt it would result in a loss of sales. Larian on the other hand, desperately wanted community feedback to make the experience as good as possible for the customers, so EA was a win win for them.
TES Oblivion had NPCs that interacted with each other (occasionally killing each other) and it didn't need a supercomputer to run.

If you wanna know what is happening in mid and low-end systems, we measure the performance in seconds per frame rather than frames per second
I swear these companies assume people on the lower/mid end doesn’t exist. A “good” game does not = high performance or high graphics. There is always a way to reduce the load for low to mid end systems and still look decent and presentable. I thankfully have a very powerful pc but I know there are people who don’t have the income to spend thousands on a system. The games shouldn’t just target the “heavy spenders” of the gaming community

A game that was this hyped, looking like the next Elden Ring, ending up shooting itself in the foot at the finish line is just sad. Removing Denuvo and deleting the MTX storefront is an easy and fast way for them to get back on track, but a company like Capcom would never.
There should have been more pushback when RE4make added this same shit because this could have been avoided. Capcom thinks the extra cash they get from the MTX will be worth the hit to their reputation. Prove them wrong.

"A game has to make money somehow" yes, that used to mean they needed to sell copies, and their goal was to draw in as many customers as possible by providing an experience people WANTED to get involved in. AAA developers however have shifted to instead making games that draw in a specific subset of customers with an addictive experience designed to siphon out monthly revenue. This is not a model anyone should support. It is not what makes a healthy game ecosystem. It is just addiction simulators.

I saw the $95 price tag and the long list of microtransactions that included basic gameplay features and was like "nah, I'll spend my money elsewhere."
The argument has come full circle. in the early 2000s, it was "you don't need to buy it; you can get the buffs from normal gameplay." Then, publishers started making the games take longer and longer to do a thing, so the paid buffs were more enticing. Then, we get the likes of Star Wars: Battlefront (the remake) and Gran Turismo 7. Don't let them try to make us complacent again. Just because it's not necessary, doesn't mean it isn't insidious.

The thing about MTX and to people defending them "but you don't need them" - this is measured internally for future titles. "How many convenience dlc's" are people purchasing, to understand and change the drop rates for future titles to increase that revenue. Allowing it and not calling it out means next game it won't be so fast to obtain these items in game. And then instead of "you can get this in-game in an hour" it will be "but you can just play for a day". That's 100% how this will go if nobody calls it out.
See i would believe this if this wasnt tried in the xbox 360 and ps3 title. People didnt buy it then because access to said info was limited. People played the game and realised that everything was in game and buying rc was pointless. Its why it was removed in the dark arisen title update and future releases. But it has been like that for over ten years with capcom and they haven't changed anything game wise about it? DMC 4 and 5 had red orb MTX and they were easy to obtain. Well, between DD1 and DD2….and how many years apart they were, I can tell you the MTX has not gotten worst, or even changed. And no one ever talks about it as an issue with DD1.

I can 100% understand MTX as a means to sustain an indie company or a F2P (as long as its not full shark P2W), I do not agree with MTX - usable items - in this.
Edit: DD1 has soundtrack as MTX, which I think makes perfect sense for people that enjoyed the music to be able to purchase it separately. They can/should add artbooks like other games as MTX and I don't think there would have been any backlash.

Cyberpunk 2077 had performance issues at launch and I waited for it to be a patched a year later and even then that game had major performance issues for a long time. Capcom is even worse.

Yo i love larian and BG3 but it was not exactly a bug free experience. It had a ton of problems especially after Act 1. The reason people were so able to look past it though was because it had so much more substance than anything else that came out around that time.

Already fixed. The microtransactions are completely optional, as everything is obtainable in game as well, as for the performance issues, that might take them a bit i guess.
One of the things that bothers me the most is that Denuvo restriction of 5 PC activations per day. It's not the worst I've ever seen but I don't like that it's going in that direction. How long until they adopt even more strict DRM measures that break the games in 10-20 years should something happen to any of the companies or Denuvo? I thought we've already been through this.

I love how mods have already undercut all the microtransactions too. Infinite save slots tool (+new game creation), all fast travel and revive items acquirable in-game at first merchant, and weightless inventory
That is why I practically adore modders, at this state of my life, I got to the point where I don't really need any more games. I just dowload mods to the ones I already have, and change them so much it practically feels like a different game, and many times it actually is, kind of. :') Modders are real gamers, gamers who actually make what other gamers want possible in their beloved game universes. Their hands are not tied with political correctness and laws.
No wonder they put denuvo in the game. They knew damn well nobody would willingly want to buy it in this state.
I'm gonna say the same thing here that I have been saying for the last day: If you are surprised by the fact that the microtransactions are in the game, you have not been paying attention to Capcom for the last 5 years. Both DMC5 and RE4 Remake had similar microtransactions.

re4r introduced them slowly over time, which was a true ball twister. I played at launch, and the only thing was that stupid extra weapon you could get from the deluxe crap. Of course, mods get you them for free, which is how they should be. But you shouldnt have to do that. Later on is when they introduced the "buy spinels" and coins options on the store page.

I agree. The mtx in existing MonHun games made me mad, and should have gotten more attn.
The mtx seem more egregious with the single save slot issue. The messaging was terrible. I thought the fast travel was this big gameplay feature you had to accept, like the difficulty in darksouls, but now you can buy port crystals? There is a lot Capcom did here that was bad, beyond the mtx.

@@serafimdaserra8738 dude… there is no in game store. They’re sold separately, and you don’t have to purchase them, you can get every item in the game at a normal rate. The game isn’t balanced in any way that makes buying them look better. Capcom has always sold them for people who are simply lazy, or just suck. It’s the same thing for the RE4make. In RE4 remake they sold golden upgrade tickets that you could use to get the special upgrade for the weapons. They sold them on steam, separately as DLC for people who wanted them. Or you could just play RE4 remake and earn the golden tickets in game. I was able to get the upgrades for the weapons I main’ed with before the end of my first playthrough. I got the other upgrades on subsequent NG+ playthroughs, which made playing NG+ worth it. Capcom doesn’t tweak the balance of the game to make it super grindy so you have to buy the microtransactions, this is how they’ve always done it.
As far as performance on pc, did you upgrade your drivers? I have a 3080ti and a i9-12900kf and in the last 10 hours of playing DD2 I have not had any crashes, framerate issues, instability issues, glitches, or bugs. And I’ve been in huge battles with allot of NPCs and pawns fighting around me.
@@RampageRalphDid you even read what he wrote? It says Save Slot. The inability to delete your save file and create a character anew or the inability to have different save file locked behind a microtransaction has not been something Capcom has been doing prior to this game.
@@highwindknight there is no microtransaction to purchase a save slot or start a new game, I just looked. It just wasn’t added to the steam version for whatever reason. The simple fix is to go into your steam file and delete your save manually. It takes .3 seconds.
Capcom doesnt listen and i been saying for years that when their few IP's they put everything in, and they're going to flub it the way they do things now, those other IP's actually asked for are still ignored.
None of this surprised me, I never really felt much for Dragons Dogma in the first place. Until I see something like a GOOD NEW version of Lost Planet, Powerstone, DarkStalkers, Cyberbots or it's beat em up version that came before it, or the number of many things we asked for back, I'm just not buying anything out of Capcom anymore.
Like many other big companies, they've lost their god damn minds and lost sight of making all over good games. They have to keep re selling their old ones, get reminded we want new versions of those old ones, and then promptly ignore their communities and th ink they know better of what they want and lose more players with every release. They use to be saved from their shenanigans by bringing Resident Evil around again. What's going to happen now that they over milked even that?
Will they even KNOW how to make a good DarkStalkers or PowerStone? By listening to the WRONG people they made Lost Planet 3 instead of expanding off of what could've been from LP2 which is loved to this day, and yet they also LIED about FIXING IT so it could easily play on PC again.
With Capcom's ill gotten goods from SFV, which wasn't even really good, they think they know whats good for the company, but it's only what's gotten a short term rise. And now I'm not even sure if they pulled their version of a Guardians of the Galaxy and give us the return of Rival Schools that if it can save their long game with the way they've gotten, and the direction they've gone internally.
Especially now when other titles like RoboCop and HellDivers 2 proves it can make some damn good games with a fraction of the budget, know what works and expand upon it, and honoring fans and the likes of what that IP is. Unlike others I knew HellDivers 2 was going to be worth playing, for one I've also been a big pusher of just how fun ragdoll physics and a 3D dynamic environment can make for all kinds of un expected situations, and that means more gameplay, outcomes, and with it it's own kind of depth.
I just dont feel that with Capcom anymore. I don't feel that dynamic fun with themes that appeal to me with a fair cost. 17 dollars for a Ninjaturtle skin or otherwise in a fighting game is just ludacris, I will not pay it. Eventually you'll find that breaking point where even the many players with no real self restraint to vote NO by not paying out from the wallet will also say no.
Fun content that several can enjoy for a fair price and purchased in more numbers by today's math is a smarter move. It will in the end make more money in most cases. Especially if it's whats been asked for. The idea of common sense even in the markets seem to have gone extinct.
Capcom’s been doing this for over a decade. The first game had it at launch, they’ve had this stuff in Resident Evil since Revelations (and it’s certainly in recent games like the remakes), Devil May Cry has their blue and red orb packs going back to DMc 3 or 4, Monster Hunter has this shit. Seems like people are just now noticing or something. If we really want to put a cap on these in the future we really need to have these conversations, vids, and articles before the next game launches. Not after launch. People in the industry should not feel ‘surpised’ or ‘betrayed’ unless they’ve literally never played a Capcom game before. So lets all keep this in mind before Monster Hunter Wilds because that shit is basically garaunteed to be in there as well as usual.
Also all of these are just sucker transactions really. You can get every one of these items in game fairly easily. And even with the mtx’s, they cap it at one purchase per player and it’s mostly just deluxe edition or preorder content that they’re offering to people who didn’t get it beforehand. I hate this kind of stuff in games but it’s not the end times that people are making it out to be at the same time.

Seeing some of the comments and some of the responses to this game's release makes me realise... WE DESERVE THIS. For each person that complains about the MTX and bad ports, you get 3 people who defend it. The mindset of "it's not necessary to buy the MTX, since the game lets you earn it" or "it will get patched later" is why we get stuff like this. And since these people will continue to accept it, it will keep getting worse and worse till we actually have to pay for reloading ammo or some bullshit like that. Whales who spend on MTX are bad, but people who defend it or excuse it are also the ones contributing to this problem.
not defending the game but clarifying the missinformation, the people that mention the MTX make it sound like the only option you have is to spend real money when it can be earned by playing the game.

Though I have seen people falsely claiming that making a new character or progressing in the game is only possible with MTX (when it is possible without it easily), most people are complaining about it's mere existence, and rightfully so. My problem isn't that people are complaining about it, it's why they chose NOW to complain about it, instead of the 50 million other microtransaction riddled games that were way scummier and did things way way worse.
None of the microtransactions in this game paywall anything or are necessary. It's actually better than previous games, not worse.

@@PuthySlayer69420No, it’s pretty bad on consoles too. Uncapped frame rate so that means judder out the ass on non VRR displays which is still the vast majority of players, and that’s on top of plentiful drops into the 20’s. So the game in general is optimized terribly.

It's funny how back when these micro pay for conveniences were introduced in AAA games people hated it. Slowly but surely, a lot of players are accepting of these practices saying it's essential for the AAA to survive, it's there for lazy people to skip the grind, "it's my money, why you hating?". Imagine how it'll be for Gen Alpha or beyond, those new gamers will feel like these things are the norm.
It's the opposite actually. Back then people don't really complain about MTX because most of it were simply small additions that were not essential. The idea of MTX being basically gambling were still not widespread. As the years goes on, developers start realizing how much money they can rake in by turning MTX into a gambling machine, and as MTX gets more and more absurd people rightfully complain about them more and more.
It might be my personal bias, but I believe this trend started from games like NBA 2K, FIFA, and Madden that introduced Ultimate Team modes with packs that you can buy with in game currency. UA-camrs started doing pack opening streams, and this only draws further attraction to buying packs and therefore in game currency. I believe these packs started in the early 2010s, and back then people just thought it was really cool to get these cards and they didn't mind them.
Another game that brought massive popularity to MTX is CS GO with their boxes for skins. Again, back then people loved these skins and the voices against it are mostly mute. UA-camrs then started streaming reaction to getting rare skins, which draws people to buying boxes of their own, which promotes further MTX.

It's sad as I just finished my run with Dogma 1 and was pleasantly surprised with the game offered me, and was genuinely excited for what Dogma 2 has to offer. I even saved money to buy Dogma 2 right away from a nearby game store BUT, I'm well aware with the AAA, AAAA whatever incidents and know darn well I shouldn't EVER pre order games and that's what I did. And honestly disappointed with the bad release of Dogma 2. I might just wait for them to fix the game or I'll just buy the money i saved for some food and actually play the games I have in my backlog instead.

About the Single Save File.
It has to do with the pawn system, Pawns are bound to your account, since pawns are a online function and cost server space.
Having people make multiple save files with unused Pawns would clog the actual game with low level unused Pawns, when playing online.
That's why DD1 also only had 1 save file.
It would be impossible to separate character/save file from pawns you mean?
Can't you just have all the saves pull from the same pool of pawns while keeping them at your level? This seems like an obvious solution to me

The game was good to me until i got to postgame. As a DD1 fan the post game is DD2 is a huge downgrade compared to what you could do postgame in DD1. In DD1 once you did a new game plus all monsters were stronger and they added a towards the end where you could farm endlessly. There is a fucking timer in DD2 post game and they only included like 4 new monsters in which the strongest of the four (dragon) is fucking trash. Im fucking disgusted

I honestly have had a wonderful time with the game, if they improve the performance in cities and the CPU load npcs have I think more people could get into it and enjoy it, but outside cities I don't have any performance issues myself, and the games combat is amazing.
