    Another swell video beloved Rob. I have a couple volume related questions for you regarding practicing guitar as well as vocals. When you are at home simply noodling around on the axe, are you generally at a "bedroom" volume, or are you playing rather loud? I am at a point in my life where I want to jam, however with three babies at home, I don't want to wake them when it's my time to shred! Any suggestions for a killer software or amp that will allow for bedroom volume but still sound nasty? Additionally, are studio monitors the way to go to play said software through, or will regular computer speakers work?
    When it comes to vocals, are vocalists actually "screaming" or is it purely an effect that can be gutturally vocalized in a reasonable volume without scaring anyone??? Thanks in advance for your help, and I look forward to the next one!

    • @RobArnoldWorld
      @RobArnoldWorld  3 роки тому

      Yo man! When I'm just jamming at home, I'm always at a bedroom volume. Now if there were three babies in the room next to me, I'd probably have to tone it down even further, so I feel what you're saying. I think there are many cool little combo amps out there with a headphone jack, and that may be your best bet. A great set of headphones can sound fantastic, and might be a good choice for jamming on your computer with software too. But if headphones aren't your gig, then I'd still go the practice amp route. And with software stuff, I think your computer speakers are fine to start out with, and then you can eventually move to studio monitors. Before getting professional monitors, I started out with a setup from a company called Klipsch. It's two speakers and a sub, and they sound great. They hook right up to your computer from the headphone jack. Walmart has it right now for a hundred bucks. I've also seen them at Costco. They'd be a great system to get started on! Cheers and good luck!

      Cool Scotty! unfortunately I don't have any tips concerning your issue. I would have suggested all the things you've tried. Maybe try a little chalk? Like gymnasts or weight lifters use?🤷🏻‍♂️

    Drop c is my favorite tuning because of the impossibility of reason, Rob How did you discover this awesome drop tuning?

      @RobArnoldWorld  3 роки тому +2

      Mark Hunter said that we should use it because Machine Head used it, and it was an "evil sounding" tuning!

    Even more advanced version: play the 0-1-2-3-4 with fast triplets so the first note shifts on each bar.

    I have a question. I find that when recording I am able to keep in time with the drums but not when the metronome is running. Is this normal for some guitar players? Take care.

    • @RobArnoldWorld
      @RobArnoldWorld  3 роки тому

      Playing to a metronome takes a lot of practice believe it or not. I've been involved in a handful of situations where a drummer is great, but because he never practiced to a click, when required to for a recording, he simply fell apart. The same goes for guitarists and bassists without a doubt. If you can commit some practice time to playing to a click, after a while, it will become easier, and almost second nature. Just give it some time! Cheers

      @@RobArnoldWorld Thank you for the information. I will commit some practice time to a click track to improve my accuracy.
