There is much easier way to calibrate the screen instead of turning TV off and lights on do the opposite, make sure the room is dark and turn the screen on with max brightness, then screencast a wallpaper with 4 squares dividing the screen to 4 equal parts with 4 different colours. Then start the calibration. It will be much easier to select all the points :)
Awesome comparison and factual information along with your opinion. These past two videos has convinced me to subscribe to your channel. Thanks for all the work
@scottsmart9815 no they are all in holiday I’m waiting to know when I get my hands on there new products can’t wait a lot of great new things and since I work really close to Nanoleaf for sure I will get access to it
Hi bro so the goove has better colors but the nanoleaf has better white brightness? Wouldn't that mean basically that the goove is better because color quality is more important? And which is better for watching podcast/youtube?
I never said that govee have better colours what I said is that govee can reproduce some colours like green better than any backlight tv that I have ever owned. So in other words is basically on the greens that I see a massive difference and passing from a blue to a green. Never been something very noticeable. But the Nanoleaf is much brighter without affecting the colour so is much more immersive. Because since you can balance the amount of light similar to the one that your screen can reproduce without changing the colour accuracy that’s for me been better with colours if it make sense. No matter if it’s to see UA-cam or Netflix my opinion is the same remember the colour accuracy is made based on your screen colour calibration is the app is a bit irrelevante. Obviously per example Netflix have there own hdr settings but I continue to base my choice on what is the experience overall with all apps because nobody wonky see UA-cam or Netflix.. hope it helps
Before you ask , checked your video :) i think im going for govee, for the 4 strips of led being separated exactly for 55" and for the time of response and better saturation. but i was almost getting the nanoleaf, but for me the response time and color accuracy are the winners.
Colour accuracy nanoleaf is a bit better and saturation forget nanoleqf is 100% better… is you say that Govee is a bit faster yes that you are right but in colour and saturation nanoleaf kills it and brightness forget
If you saw this video and if you see this one you have your answer: Govee TV Backlight T2 vs T3 Lite - Less is more? ua-cam.com/video/bbp9i_Up-nc/v-deo.html
I have a tv that is i think 42 inch so its better for me to buy the nanoleaf 4d bc i wanted the govee t2 or t3 lite but if its better to buy nanoleaf then i need to take them
I had the Govee T1 and it was OK..now I have the T2 on my new TV and the colours are sadly not great. The calibration also doesn't really work all that well, despite the dual cameras. I have a 77" TV and the correct Govee set, but somehow it doesn't really work as well as the old one with just the single camera did. The T3 Lite isn't available for large TVs, so I can't try that.
@@MADpack My settings are similar to what you have. I haven't tried mounting the camera at the botto yet since my TV is wall mounted. But my Brightness is set to 15% and the Saturation is 1% since everything else just tints whites as red, despite a correct white balance. Thing is...test patterns (YT Videos are available) actually work reasonably well with my calibration, but actual Movie content is hit and miss since not everything is actually recorded by the cameras.
I already received the Nanoleaf 4d and it's really great, but the 3m adhesive tape that sticks to the TV is really unfortunate for such a product, I'd imagine something proper!!! Even after degreasing, it comes off 😤 so buying good quality tape and sticking it again..
I’m not confused I know which one makes more sense for me I gave all the examples where I prefere one to another now it depends on your needs for me t3 still didn’t made me remove the 4D
I watched the Video and the I found the nanoleaf much better but I watch a lot of anime should I get the gubi then? In my opinion it’s clear but you said it’s better for cartoons. But from what I have seen I don’t like the satratiom from the gubi

Hi, thanks for the video. I have some questions: I have an LG 55"OLED, if I put nanoleaf4d near the base, how many cm near the screen? I have a space problem with the soundbar. Is the performance even worse with a camera on the base? Also, I have the problem like yours in the back of the TV…Does Govee stick despite the step?
Nanoleaf 4D I would say is not the best to set on the bottom of the tv because of the base I would try to put at the same distance that you have if you had it on the top but I think to put on the bottom the govee t3 lite do a better job… when we talk about glue is not compatible the govee t3 lite have a much better glue
Hi, thx for that comparison video, it helped me a lot, i want to buy now the t3 lite, because of the price and the ability to install the camera on the bottom. Can you pls make a step by step video how to install it right on the bottom, i think a lot of People dont like the camera on top of the TV, so they dont want to buy that product in the first place, that Would Change when they will know its possible to put it below the Screen. Thx a lot for your effort :)
Hi. Just to confirm, is it possible to setup the T3 lite camera at the bottom of the screen like it is with the T2? Thanks for your comparison, the side by side is especially helpful!
The camera on top of the tv is plain ugly. Govee should really reintroduce app support for a bottom installation (still supported for the Govee T1) , so you can hide that thing behinde a soundbar, etc.
Hi there you can definitely use it on the bottom you just have to put your phone upside down to set it up on the bottom. On the t3 I didn’t try to put it on the bottom because it works really well on the top didn’t happens the same with the t2 but per example the one I use just on the top really works and I don’t mind to have it there because it gives the most immersive experience

Or just go on the video of Nanoleaf 4D and play pause on the part of the video where it shows the image for calibration :)
Changing the settings u can use the nanoleaf as bias light and changing light, try dynamic range 50, saturation 70, white balance 4500k
Thank you for sharing your thoughts

Thank you for making my day with your comment really appreciated :) where are you based :)?
Thanks for this comparison. My question is can you attach the strip on the ceiling of the room and get the same effect as if it was behind the TV?
No you will not
I had the Nano, but it wouldn't stick on our TV (due to not being flat), therefore the Govee is the winner for us.
Thank you for sharing your experience that is similar to mine the big issue of nano is the glue
Hey man do you still prefer the Nanoleaf to the T3 lite? Or is there a better camera based alternative now
Man is coming out the Nanoleaf 4D V2 they seems to have solved the issues and that makes the Nanoleaf hopefully the best tv backlight let’s see

How you led on goove turn off when black is in scene?
Is automatic in t3 otherwise reduce relative brightness below 42%

Hello, thanks again for your deep dive! Which one of the two do you recommend for the specific use of consoles games (mario kart, etc..)?
And also as ambient light for the living room (so with the tv off)
Hi there I have answered that on the video of you see it all :)
Related to ambient light both can deliver
Yes indeed, you said that Govee T3 is better for gaming but I just wanted to be sure thats it's not behind for on/off ambient light @@MADpack
