@@grievousangel8655 ...same, I think I discovered him in 1990 thanks to my sister who lent me her cassette tape (remember those?). I don't think she ever got it back 🎶🎵
His voice reminds me of Sam Cooke's, who had the smoothest and velvety voice ever. This was a late 80's tune and very different to most songs being played on the radio then.
The Righteous Brothers were fans of Grayson, so that should tell you something about him. A couple of his songs were in the movies "Thelma and Louise" and "Fried Green Tomatoes". I've known Grayson for decades...even played in a couple bands with him. Great songwriter and singer.
Fucking brilliant piece of art. Just listened to this song randomly on the way home from work. I thought I was having an out of body experience with the level of goosebumps. They just don’t make music like this anymore. God bless the 1990s
I bought this song back in the 80s when it came out. Love that your reacted to it. By the way, you both are awesome. It's like seeing my favorite neighbors when I see your videos.
Bought the cassette from a shop in Fayetteville NC many many years ago. Knew all the lyrics to all the songs. Thanks for bringing attention to this man. This song and Bring it All Back are most well known, but I always liked Romantic Heart, and Two Hearts.
Grayson is a very talented singer and songwriter who had a few hits in the late 80s, early 90s. "Blind to Reason" and "How 'Bout Us" (duet with Betty Wright) were also bangers. Unfortunately his career petered out and he's been teaching music in Connecticut for a couple of decades now.
Came across Grayson Hugh when checking out singers that sound like Steve Perry. He certainly fits the bill (though he's closer to Sam Cooke than Steve), great voice and great grove, most of his other songs have a more country sound than this but his voice is still on top form. Cheers
There’s always the question of whether to listen to the live version, the studio version or watch the official video. In this case, the video is quite clever and entertaining. Definitely worth giving it a look.
I had this cassette single in my late teens /early 20’s-I used to play it over and over- Especially after a fight with my guy- 😁🤭He hated the song.. (he liked metal/hard stuff..) One night HE popped it in the cassette deck of the car- We didn’t get down the road too far.. lol Sorry, just thought I’d share. Hopefully in a tasteful way- I just can’t help but think of those times when I hear it- OK..now time for me to watch the dang video! 💕💙 edit: yes, yes.. we just “talked” it over in the car too- we had to get it resolved quickly- yep lol
One of my all time favorite songs. This should have been a massive hit, but unfortunately the music video to promote it was incredibly dumb so nobody took this guy seriously.
For me, the technical brilliance of the eighties and nineties has been mostly lost in the last two decades. This song is just a small example of that technical brilliance.
Please take a listen to Maxwell with "Ascension" (Don't Ever Wonder) from 1996 (the 'Neo-Soul'-movement) Such a cool vibe! Great voice and soulful music... It's one of the gems of the album: "Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite".... Still got that cd!
I think you two may be just a little young to realize the real meaning of this song. Yes, it was about talking but it was about sex too. I remember those days in the late eighties. xoxo
I'M NEW! I really like watching y'all's reactions.. can I recommend some "INSANE CLOWN POSSE"? maybe review the song "Ain't no time"? It would be dope to see y'all review ICP...
Didn't think anyone knew about Grayson but me!!! He should have been a big star in the U.S. 🎶🎵
So many songs and talents from the 80's that nobody ever plays.

That's right there's another Henry Lee Summer "Wish I had a girl" and Jude Cole "Baby it's tonight"@@time2chill121

Grayson is a legend, love his music which he is still creating and producing to this day.

Sometimes greatness is not realized until after they are long gone.

Did anyone know Olivia Newton John covered this song? It’s on UA-cam. Both versions are great!
You mean butchered, she's a effin joke😂
He reminds me of Sam Cook,
One of my all time favorite songs. This should have been a massive hit, but unfortunately the music video to promote it was incredibly dumb so nobody took this guy seriously.
The video was fine . It was mainstream radio that didn't give it the attention it deserved.
I didn't know this song. But I like it... He has a soothing voice
The young rascals " Good loving"
Sounds so much like the late Sam Cooke.
Always loved this song and this album. Sounded like Sam Cooke
Thought was sam cookie when I first heard it
For me, the technical brilliance of the eighties and nineties has been mostly lost in the last two decades. This song is just a small example of that technical brilliance.
I wish I could hear Sam Cooke sing this song.....
Great video goes with this song.
When you get a chance watch the original video from 1989. It is a classic!!!!
The video is a must see...you would love it!
