Ambrosia is another 70s Rock Soul group to check out with songs like "How Much I Feel", "You're the Only Woman" and more. This song from Player is a real classic! As for Hall and Oates, the phrase that they probably used for them is "Blue Eyed Soul".. Blessings to you both and the rest of the family!!
Another great song from about the same era: "I'M NOT IN LOVE" by 10cc. It's not the same genre, but it's about the same time and has some similar "studio" sounds.
Everyone enjoyed this song, it was smooth and a little funky, rocked a bit and had great relatable lyrics. It encapsulates the 70s party lifestyle in a way

This was a 70s standard for sure. Heard this and the Bee Gees and all the good songs on the radio as mom made out school lunches and on the ride to school. I was talking to my eldest brother about how we really had an almost idyllic childhood.
"Blue-Eyed Soul" at it's absolute finest. I feel this song in my bones every single time. It's so much fun watching newbies experience this music for the first time!
Sometimes When We Touch- Dan Hill- another soft rock banger from the late 70s that I’m sure Amber would like. Definitely can sway to it and love to see u 2 react to it!!
RECOMMENDATIONS: "Me and Mrs. Jones" by Billy Paul. First artist in the long line of Kenny Gamble's "Philly Soul" Sound stable. Paul grew up two towns over from me in Blackwood, NJ. 10CC "I'm not in Love".
You are such a beautiful couple of persons. I just love to listen the songs of my youth and rediscover them through your reactions. You are two sensitive people, it's beautiful to see how much you feel this music that comes from an era you never known. I wish I could explain to you what it was like to grow up in the 70s, with those beautiful melodies and arrangements ... that you could hear even when you were at the grocery store. And you could also buy vinyl records at your grocery store!! The vinyles were just beside de cash. This period was so special.
Great song! Radio favorite!! Try "Sailing" by Christopher Cross, so beautiful and relaxing! Also "Ride Like the Wind" and "If you get caught between the moon and New York City" ( shorter title "Authur's Theme" from the movie "Authur" 1981)
The rehearsal version on Chris Isaak playing his tender heartbreak over a sliding guitar depression on WICKED GAME should interest you. Great song and sound. Also, Christopher Cross riding hard for South of the border as he tries leave it all behind with RIDE LIKE THE WIND. The songs kinetic energy and instrumentation will stick in your head long after the dust settles.

The whole song is a banger, the chorus, the theme, the piano, the keyboard, and the drum hit hard and I gotta say dam... but the guitar at the end had my mind blown🤯
Please react to England Dan & John Ford Coley "love is the answer" "it's sad to belong" "what's forever for" "nights are forever without you" "we'll never have to say goodbye" "I'd really love to see you tonight"
Love Is The Answer was written by the great Todd Rundgren. Props to England Dan and John Ford Coley for their version, but the song remains pure Utopia for me.
One of the many, many 1-hit wonders of the 1970s. What a great time to be to be a teenager. Can you imagine growing up and hearing mood-soothing music like this virtually every day? The world seems so angry now without it.
Player only had 2 or 3 hits in the late 70s. This one was the only one I personally cared for, but I thought it was awesome. BTW congrats again on Luca. Beautiful family.
Man. This song and so many others remind me of my childhood. They were all over the radio and a part of my car rides in the station wagon. Some real music back then. Bands that wrote incredible songs and played live. The harmonies on this song are just fantastic
Player had another light rock hit in “This Time I’m in It for Love”. And, If you want a song that has a “soulful longing” try Ambrosia’s “Holding on to Yesterday”. It’s one of their best.
DH & I just had our 34th anniversary and every year he sings "Happy Anniversary Baby" by the Little River Band. This year after he sang it asked him if he ever actually listened to the lyrics (instead of just parroting them). He said of course - hadn't he just been singing them?. I told him THEY BROKE UP!!! I will accept diamonds thank you!
People try to call Player a one hit wonder, which is not true. The song "This Time I'm In It For Love" is a great song that shows off their great harmonies.
Tommy James and the Shondells is a band from late 60's and 70's and I'm pretty sure you both would love their songs Crimson and Clover 🍀😀 and Crystal Blue Persuasion 💙
I agree. Both of those songs, but especially Crimson and Clover, By Tommy James and the Shondells were not only good in there own right but were required fare for every garage band in North America.
If there was one song that makes you instantly think of the 70's, this has to be it. Baby Come Back is an enormous hit. 70's was the best easy listening decade and the 80's was the best pop and rock decade. I was SO lucky to have lived through them both. Every week there was a few new hits coming from all over the place. It never ended. What a stroll down memory lane.
Howdy. Since it comes up a lot.....the strings on the guitar (From the thinnest to thickest) are: E-B-G-D-A-E So, Jordan really likes the E and B string soloing. Cheers.
He also really likes when they bend those high strings for that bluesy feel, especially when they keep bending the same note(s) over and over before releasing the tension by falling into the rest of the riff. But, then, so does everybody really, which is why guitarists do that. I just mention it because when those high strings start bending, you know Jordan is gonna be wearing that stank face.

I think they were a one hit wonder. They had that Ambrosia groove going on. Ambrosia is another band from back in the day.
Lol, that's how they getcha! In fact, continual repetition of songs until people like them was/is Clear Channel's whole strategy for radio. That's why every Clear Channel station had a playlist that maxed out at 20 songs. They found that if you didn't like a song the first time you heard it, you *would* start liking it after hearing it twice an hour every day for a week or two.

Us 70s BRATS were OVER spoiled ,,
One of my favorite songs, loved it the first time I heard it in 1977. Peter Beckett is the lead vocalist.
Three Times a Lady by Commodores as well.
Yes 10cc
Daryl Hall has a great cover of this song. You can find it on UA-cam and he is singing it live with his band. A must see.
Oh yeah they will love love me and mrs Jones!!!
Yaass, Me and Mrs. Jones! Great song!
@@janeenbarker4851 I just watched it. They nailed it! Somewhere in the ether, Billy Paul is smiling.
Need some Christopher Cross now; Sailing and Ride Like The Wind❤️
Can't forget about his biggest hit: "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)."
@@BillGraper Absolutely!! Love that one too!!!
Christopher Cross *Ride like The Wind* For Sure! Youu get the Music and the voice.
🎤💜👍
Sailing ❤️❤️❤️
70’s was the best era for music. I will die on this hill.
7dz 4 sure
I agree. So much variety, from rock, to soul, to disco, it was all original and it was all good.
YES IT WAS very much SIR ,im 63and had a very good life in the 60s and 70s😀
60s 70s and 80s
and me with you for sure!
This is one of those songs that you never get tired of hearing, such an amazing piece of music
Atlanta Rhythm Section had some amazing songs worthy of a listen/reaction
When I hear this song, I always have to follow it with Seals and Crofts "Diamond Girl." The two just go so good together.
Yes and let's not forget their big hit, Summer Breeze :-)
@@dunhill1 love that one too, but Diamond Girl is the "must hear" for me after this song. It's just a flow thing.😉
Couldn't agree more!
The BEST Yacht Rock song, hands down!!🛥🛥🛥😀
You are such a beautiful couple of persons.
That solo in the end just amazing !! I felt like it could've gone forever! 🎶🎶❤️
Great song! Radio favorite!!
Try "Sailing" by Christopher Cross, so beautiful and relaxing! Also "Ride Like the Wind" and "If you get caught between the moon and New York City" ( shorter title "Authur's Theme" from the movie "Authur" 1981)
I would suggest listening to the group Bread- anything by them. 😊
Yes!!
I was just thinking today that I needed to recommend Chris Isaak! Wicked Game is haunting!
Chris Issak also did Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing during that rehearsal. Both are so good.

@@jeje6160 dude, get a life.
It was a great song, it went to number#1 on billboard in 1977 for 12 weeks.
This song will always remind me of my high school sweetheart...David. RIP Wavy Davey.
Love this song so much! 💜💙💚 The dude in the red went on to be Ridge Forrester on the soap The Bold and the Beautiful! Blue Eyed Soul is what it's called!
I think the term "Slow Jam" was created for songs like this. I appreciate my youth so much because I heard songs like this oozing from my radio every day.
Billy vera has the best love song ever called at this moment ❤
Songs like this are a part of why growing up in the 70's was the Best decade ever! I love to watch you guys!! Your reactions are pure joy. Sometimes when a song like this comes on it just gets me thinking back. So lucky to have been a kid then. Brings tears to my eyes. I miss those days so much.
I think it’s started being referred to as “Yacht Rock,” and I’m forever here for it. ❤
You know, it fits better than soft rock, I think.
Christopher Cross - “Sailing” takes you to a magical dream land
Oh yes it does
Yes!
AussieGirl Dream Weaver as well! " I just close my eyes..."
Yes. Great satanic brutal death metal song. The growls and the blast beats are great.
I agree
Wow this was ’70s FM radio!🤘🔥
Another good one released a quite a few years prior to this one would be Tommy James and the Shondells- Crimson and Clover. So good and really catchy. Joan Jett covered it also, but you should probably do the original first and then Joan's cover sometime after that.
I love draggin the line better

Yes! Tommy James and the Shondells! "Crimson and Clover". Stay away from the Joan Jett version until you've done the original.
Money Mony was a jam. My favorite from Tommy James and The Shondells.
This song has special meaning for me as a teenager, as it came out just after I had broken up with my first love….😭
The whole song is a banger, the chorus, the theme, the piano, the keyboard, and the drum hit hard and I gotta say dam... but the guitar at the end had my mind blown🤯
A well deserved #1 hit for Player in 1977-78. It took a strong song like the Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive" to knock it out of #1. :)
Please react to
England Dan & John Ford Coley
"love is the answer"
"it's sad to belong"
"what's forever for"
"nights are forever without you"
"we'll never have to say goodbye"
"I'd really love to see you tonight"
❤❤❤
Yes! Especially "Love Is the Answer"!
Yesss 👍
Love Is The Answer was written by the great Todd Rundgren. Props to England Dan and John Ford Coley for their version, but the song remains pure Utopia for me.
My favorite song since it came out. Hits me in the feels every time🎶🎶‼️
Grew up in the 70's and this was and still is a favorite and IS on my music playlist. Major crush on the singer ❤️
If you want to listen to a real classic listen to Bread’s “If”. It will melt your lady’s heart ❤️.
Any Bread songs!
Do you remember Telly Savalas' version (pretty much all spoken)? I do (old timer). I'll take Bread's version any day!
One of the many, many 1-hit wonders of the 1970s. What a great time to be to be a teenager. Can you imagine growing up and hearing mood-soothing music like this virtually every day? The world seems so angry now without it.
Tru dat...peace still
As one of those “teenagers”I couldn’t agree more ✌️🫶
Player only had 2 or 3 hits in the late 70s. This one was the only one I personally cared for, but I thought it was awesome. BTW congrats again on Luca. Beautiful family.
Oh yeah the 70s makes me think what it was like being young again
Back then when artists can express their feelings through their music. I'm sure after this performance he'll get his girl back.
The Guess Who “These Eyes” and Air Supply “Lost In Love”
Now that you're going down the yacht rock route Ambrosia, Little River Band and Christopher Cross
You both are SOOOO much fun to watch! Your enjoyment of the 60s and 70s music....I just love it!
Tommy James and the Shondells is a band from late 60's and 70's and I'm pretty sure you both would love their songs Crimson and Clover 🍀😀 and Crystal Blue Persuasion 💙
Long version
I agree. Both of those songs, but especially Crimson and Clover, By Tommy James and the Shondells were not only good in there own right but were required fare for every garage band in North America.
@@mr.mcewan9261 - Don't forget I Think Were Alone Now. That is still one of my favorite Tommy James songs.
Classic ‘70s soft rock!🤙
Another Rat Pack member....Bobby Daren-Beyond the Sea...legendary. The only man Sammy Davis refused to follow on stage
Just love when youngins finally hear our music............... High School Days.............
Is anyone else hearing those little cut outs?
Yup
Most definitely
Yep
@@macinfloydvolk Those are the low strings.

I just found your channel yesterday… and I love it! My childhood during the 70’s/80’s was full of great music and it’s great to see your reactions. The music is timeless. Happy you reacted to Player’s “Baby Come Back”…. and Hall & Oates, Ambrosia, Orleans, and other greats. I hope you’ll add England Dan & John Ford Coley. My favorite is “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight”
I can’t tell you what a lift I get from seeing you enjoy music I love so much from back in the day. This was huge my senior year of HS-1977! Thanks so much for keeping it alive. ❤️
Another 77 grad here!! We had so much great music to listen to!!
A little younger than you (born in 77 lol) but SAME! I grew up hearing all this and love that they are discovering (and enjoying!) this amazing music ❤️
@@cynthiapopeck4350 we surely did and I’m stilling listening to it!
Ambrosia is another great band. How much i feel, Your the only Women,Holding on to Yesterday , This type music is now being refered to as yacht rock. / Paul Davis ,I go Crazy, / Ace with How Long. Sampler platter. Enjoy
Oh how I loath that reference...prefer soft rock I grew up with 😁
I’d love to see you listen to Rick Springfield. His songs include: Jessie’s Girl, Don’t Talk to Strangers, Human Touch, I’ve Done Everything for You, Affair of the Heart and Love Somebody.
And "Bruce"!
@mspfiney, first one I remember of his was *Speak to the Sky* I had to go the local record store and get it (45, recall those?). Still have it, too. lol. God Bless you and Keep you Safe in HIS Loving Embrace. Have a Great rest of the week and an AWESOME weekend and week ahead.
@@jddo3298 - I’m not familiar with that one. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks. By the way I still have all my 45’s I bought in the 60’s and early 70’s! They’ve got to be antiques like me by now! LOL. Take care. 🥰
You can’t leave out State of the Heart 😉
You'd have to start with maybe Jessie's Girl or Christina, but I'd LOVE to see them react to Alyson & most anything from his Living In Oz album.
This bop spent a lot of time on the R&B charts. Uncle and aunties know something about this. Ambrosia "How much I feel", is a mood also.
evrything gelled well for this song. from the very first instrument to the vocals. one of the best songs ever
I loved this late 70's "soft rock" - for the same vibe check out England Dan and John Ford Coley -'I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" and Starbuck -"Moonlight Feels Right"
Also another good 70s piano hit is Barry Manilow- Mandy! His voice is gold and he can play piano like Elton John!
Agreed....anything Barry is great
As a Mandy I approve this message! Also, Copacabana by Barry Manilow if you want more upbeat and a story and drama.
I agree Barry's Mandy and Copacabana are must hear
No Barry Manilow

Welcome to the 70's guys! LOVED YOUR REACTIONS! YOU BOTH MADE ME SMILE!
One of my faves all time. I've listened to this no less than thousands of times over the years.
Yes baby this song is as smooth as it gets!!
I worked at a clothing store when this was popular. The store intercom played this at least once an hour. It wasn't the kind of music that I listened to back then, but I grew to like it.
@@johnplaysgames3120 That's the same tactics that politicians use. Keep telling the same thing over and over, and pretty soon, they will believe it to be true. Much like Democrats do.
Another comment recommended "Brandy" by Looking Glass. I totally agree. Also, give the great Stevie Winwood a shout out. He is not to be missed.
Every time I hear Brandy, it makes me think of Captain Of Her Heart by Double. Love both of these songs.
