To rodent proof my traps bait, I use galvanized wire plaster lath. It's 2x8 ft. Sheet used to hold plaster on walls. It's really cheap but works better than any other wire mesh. Great videos!
This got me thinking about doing something like this. Really like the idea. Thanks. Oh, did they work as you planned? Tried to find the video of them out on the line but couldn't find any.
If he puts a couple of screws half in on the outside of the box, at top trap height, and hooks the safeties of top trap on them, it would minimize the risk.
I tighten the springs in pretty tight, as well I secured this box to the tree much more secure than I normally do to minimize the shock of the other trap going off... I stuck a stick in the bottom trap to test this and the top trap never moved a bit..
Most years i'll have around 200 sets out, when prices are up then a few more.. Below average out right now, had to free up a bit of time for some other projects...
