@@lifeevent88 just received my A9 the other day. It sounds very good, definitely made for movies and it’s OK for music. This is a great system, even without the subwoofer. I prefer black as well, but the color nice, looks elegant in person. No one would listen to this system and walk away disappointed. Have a full Kef atmos system, the Kef is obviously better, but not in every way, the A9 does a much better job with the surround & Atmos effects. Bigger speakers usually sound better if all else is equal, and one area all these sound bar speaker systems lack is in the mid level. The ease of the A9 makes it a no brainer for anyone that cares more about the content then just buying better equipment.

Out of stock everywhere because sony stopped production. First batch hv serious audio skipping issue. Until today we early owner scratching our head to find solution on this. This troubleshooting video only helps for temporary. The issue will comeback again n again.
@@absar810706 just got mine the other day production has likely stopped but there are still some out there for example mine was a order from over a month ago that got canceled so I was able to get it you just have to be extremely lucky
Edit: also I have had no issues with audio skipping that was fixed for the most part in a software update a while back
Hi, I have a question about rear speakers position. I have a large room in a shape of letter L that combines living room, dining room and a kitchen. How important it is to for the rear speakers to be at the same distance from the TV? Currently one is in the middle of the room, right behind the sofa, let say 3,5 meters from TV, and the other is further away, in a corner 7 meters away from the TV. Is that a problem? And if so, it better to put both of them at the middle of the room and create the sound bubble just arount sofa, or to put them both furher back?
Question, if I connect directly the HDMI of a console or apple Tv, it sounds better than connect throw the TV?
I just need to know if I can connect the HT-A9 to the HT-A700 if so how do I do it?

Is it recommended that I put my Apple TV or blu ray player into the HDMI port in my HT-A9? Or can I leave them plugged into my Sony X95K?
And for the S center cable. Can I use any Aux cable?
For the projector setup I will connect the box opposite to the wall where film's are projected.
I will use an HDMI switch matrix to mux all sources (SAT/TV/BR/Fire stick) to the A9.
Will it be ok without using eARC? No sound lag over the video?
For the speakers, Is it ok if they stand over a sofa? is that ok if not on a hard surface?
Hi Alexandre Esquenet, thank you for reaching out to us. The speaker system is compatible with both eARC and ARC. ARC is the function that sends TV sound to an AV device such as the speaker system from the TV’s HDMI jack. eARC is an extension of ARC and enables transmission of the object audio and multi-channel LPCM content that cannot be transmitted with ARC. In case the sound from this speaker system lags behind the image, we recommend following these steps:
- Set the adjustment value of the delay between the picture and sound to 0 msec if it is set to the range between 25 msec and 300 msec. A time gap between the sound and picture may occur depending on the sound source.
- If your TV has a function that delays the image, use it for adjustment. For details, refer to the operating instructions of your TV.
Do not place the speaker system near heat sources or in a place subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, or mechanical shock. Also, use caution when placing the speaker system on a surface that has been specially treated (with wax, oil, polish, etc.), as staining or discoloration of the surface may result.

I purchased a Sony Bravia X80K 65” led 4k tv and was looking to purchase the Sony HT-A9 surround sound system. Is my tv equipped with the center audio option?
It would be really nice if the instructions or videos would talk about how big of a screw you need to mount these speakers to a stand. I can’t find that (very basic) information anywhere!!
Is it necessary to have internet or wifi in order to realise the full potential of the speakers?
Could anyone point to how to connect and use Samsung S22 Dolby feature along with ht-A9?
I just purchased the Sony HT-9. I am using the ARC HDMI for my cable box. Can I use a different HDMI port?
While i know these do a great job of adjusting for placement, what is an ideal setup?
Should these be turned in to focus on seating area or face forward? Also, should front and rear speakers be aligned, or rear speakers wider than fronts? Also, should height be adjusted so 45 degree atmos up-firing reflects off ceiling to seating area? Any other tips?

Thinking of buying two sets of hta9 for living room and bedroom, both with sw3. Is the sw3 sub paired with its separate and unique hta3 control box? When both hta9 systems are on, will there be interference between the two subs?
Sony will be answering your question very soon. Just hang in there, they are working on it. Yes you may experience interference, depending on how far apart the rooms are. Why would you be watching 2 movies at the same time in 2 different rooms? Or is that like another family member or something?
You'd have a lot more customers if you patched the system so that you can link to any brand wireless sub.
Imagine this linked to a REL S510 via their wireless add on.
For me the system looks great, but the subs are not quite there to my taste, I need tighter bass with more extension with a much faster response.
The option of a separate centre channel would be great also.
What affects would having the HT A9 in a room having slightly vaulting ceilings? (8' side walls inclining up to 16' peak)?

The HT-A9 features 360 Spatial Sound Mapping that adapts to your environment and Sound Field Optimization that calibrates the sound to your room for a listening environment which seems to expand beyond the walls. So, it should not have any effect when placed in a room with a slightly vaulted ceiling. Hope this helps! -Sam
Using with projector. So my plan is similar with Alexandre. Will be using an Apple TV 4K box and my local providers 4K optic tv box. Both hooked up to an HDMI two in, one out selectable switcher. The hdmi 2.1 cable into Projectors HDMI (eARC) port. Will this give me full access to Dolby atmos and other audio formats?

Thank you for the inquiry! The HT-A9 supports object-based audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X as well as HDR video formats such as HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision. If the projector is compatible with eARC, you can
output the high quality sound by connecting an AV device to the HDMI IN jack on the projector. In this case, enable the eARC function of the projector. See page 18 from this link for more details.

Hey I'm not sure about the positioning of the 4 speakers.
I put the two front speakers close to the TV. Or should I put them in the corners of the room, so further away from the TV?
And for the rear speakers: My bed is on the wall, so they are basically just 10 centimeters behind my head. Should they be closer to my head or further apart?
Should all 4 speakers perfectly face me (so, rotate them slightly in) or should the right speakers face each other and the left speakers face each other?

Thank you for the inquiry! Bring the speakers closer if the speakers are installed at a distance far away from each other. Install the speakers with a distance of more than 50 cm (19 3/4 in). If the distance between speakers is too close, Sound Field Optimization cannot be performed properly. You may find these links helpful for the recommended installation position of the speakers.

Hi Tafhim, thanks for your inquiry! When you set the Link Mode of your HTA9 to AUTO, the SA-SW5 should automatically connect to the home theater system when you press the power button.
You can also perform a manual connection. Using the remote control of your HTA9, please refer to the steps below:
1. Press HOME
2. Select [Setup] - [Advanced Settings] on the home menu.
3. Select [Speaker Settings] - [Wireless Speaker Settings] - [Start manual linking]. The [Start manual linking] screen appears on the
TV screen.
4. Press LINK on the subwoofer. The power indicator of the subwoofer that had LINK pressed flashes twice repeatedly in green.
5. Select [Start]. The manual connection starts. The connecting process appears on the TV screen. To cancel the manual connection, select [Cancel].
6. When [Subwoofer] display [Connected], select [Finish].
7. Press (enter). The manual connection is established and the power indicator of the subwoofer lights in green

And with regard to speaker position, surround sound can be experienced more effectively by installing the 4 speakers to surround your listening position and installing the front speakers on both sides of the TV. There is also a Sound Field Optimization feature which is part of the initial setup that will analyze the correct sound measurement between the speaker and the user. Great video. How can i connect the Sony HT A9 with the Sony A80J to get the best performance? I own a PS5 and some other consoles, do i just connect the PS5 to the HDMI IN on the hub and all the other devices to the TV since the HT A9 only supports one HDMI IN input? I would be thankfull for any kind of help :)

Is there a new model?
How can I get rid of Wah-Wah effect on sound on crowd noise in a sporting events such as foot ball ? Does anybody has this issue?
THese amazing speakers are getting rave reviews across the board but impossible to purchase worldwide! I am in the UK and been out of stock for many months now. :( Sony need to tell people why they are being delayed or at least give us some idea when back on the market please before customers go elsewhere.
Can the receiver be mounted behind the tv panel?
yes it can, but you may experience drop outs depending on the exact positioning. The best way would be to try it out and see how it goes, there are a few variable's that can affect the connection. Such as being to close to the wireless router.
When connected with a80k OLED tv to HT a9 centre speaker mode some noise arises on tv screen.

what does 2:40 mean exactly? connect another HDMI device like a blu ray player or a game console to the control box. how does the TV receive video from such devices if said devices are connected to the HT A9 control box? PS5 has only 1 HDMI port.
It's a pass through, PS5 will show on HDMI 2 if eARC is HDMI 3.

Hi. Question 1) I do not have a TV set but a projector. May I connect my own center speaker. 2) I already have a great subwoofer. May I install it? Both questions, naturally, without loosing any HTA9 functionality!

This troubleshooting only helps for temporary only. Problem arise back after a while. Didn't expect this kind of half cook engineering product from Sony.

Hello. I don’t want to listen via Bluetooth. They’ll be compressed and stereo. I want to use the hdmi input on the device to receive audio. But I want to use it with a screen that doesn’t have. ARC

The measured distance may be several meters farther than the actual distance. If your audio system doesn't have automatic calibration, set the center speaker level of your audio system manually. This is half cook engineering product. About Sony HT-A9 audio skipping / drop out issue, it's not only affecting me. Many users around the world hv voices out this issue in their product review section. The conclusion is the system work okay for a while. Then the problem arise back. Then need to do recalibration, reset RF again.
Currently I believe Sony has stopped production for a while. That's why no stock everywhere include big nation like US, Canada, India.
Sony aware on this issue since this is global issue. Hope they come out with proper solution for early owner like me.

Sony FAILD on the manual. It doesn't tell you anything good like what is each item/setting? What is an example? Not enough detail with examples.

I have the A-9 system. The demo set-up sounds AMAZING but, because the unit is wireless, the sound frequently drops out, or stops working altogether, requiring you to stop what you're watching, and re-set the entire system. My advice: not worth the cost so look elsewhere for a quality sound system!
How far is your router from the control box? Is your box using wired Ethernet?
Give us lower price of this.Sony always say,that they think for people, but nothing for poor people,and that is not for good.
They'll bring out a premium tin whistle, bits of string and tin cans for you, that should suffice.

Let's get real: this video is in response to all the customers whose units keep breaking up, losing connection, and stop working properly. If you have to make a video about troubleshooting, under the guise of "information", then it's time to buy another product. And anyone that would buy a sawed-in-half soundbar for this price deserves what they get anyway.
Someone sounds like they have an axe to grind. Are you speaking for yourself (let me guess you don't own these speakers) or are you attempting to speak for others? I have them and they work fantastically well thanks. Worth every cent I paid for them. They are literally a new type of speaker/sound system. Teething problems are to be expected with new tech. Hardly unusual. As are higher prices (think OLED and their high prices and burn in problems). So long as any problems are addressed, acknowledged (hence the purpose of this video) and anyone can return or exchange a product not working then it's not the end of the world.
I can't use a sound bar with a projector setup where the sources and projector is opposite to the wall where it projects to.
What else would they do on a "Sony Support" channel?

I wonder which brand's products he buys that both NEVER has any flaws or issues that require information as to how to solve said issues, and that doesn't have a UA-cam channel to do so ......

what does 2:40 mean exactly? connect another HDMI device like a blu ray player or a game console to the control box. how does the TV receive video from such devices if said devices are connected to the HT A9 control box? PS5 has only 1 HDMI port.

to anyone who is also confused about this, here is how it works
the control box is capable of passing through video (upto 8k 60Hz) so it sends the audio to HT A9 speakers and the video to the destination device (tv, projector, monitor).
