The most important I would say is put the sound speakers at level ears and all in a optical distance I know this system was made to put things where ever you want but is no harm to set up things properly. You want the sound to bounce so no need to put any material that will absorve waves the Sony ht a9 is a king to set up the sound for the characteristic of your room so I would just be concern to set things up wheel and that’s it hope it helps

ive had it for over 6 months or so, I love them, I used to have a atmos setup, sub, 3 front and 2 upward facing speakers, and the rear speakers, it wasnt a full atmos but it worked, but these 4 speakers sound so much better than all those speakers I had, amazing tbh, I think u either do atmos right which will cost many thousands of dollars, or dont do it at all. but these smart speakers can make it happen.
So i have the same set up you had but rather than 2 up fireing drivers i had two speakers up on the cieling, but i still notice sound doesnt travel around all too nicely from front to back. I was wondering with the sony ht a9 how does the sound travel around the room and overhead compared to having actual speakers overhead. 🤔
@@Hungariansausage7766 if so but it creates Fantom speakers not real speakers so if a room have upper speakers of good quality and set it up perfectly I would say that the Sony ht a9 is inferior
I ordered this system with SA SW5 subwoofer, and I can't wait to come. My tv is 65A95K...I only watching movies, and I think it is gonna be loud enough for me, I don't really like very loud sounds... Very good reviuw I'm hear what I want to hear 🤣🤣🤝🥰
Hi there so you have exactly the same tv has me… you will love this system is a monster the Sony ht a9 times to time you have just to turn it off and on because sometimes you have issues of connection with the back speakers but is a one off of few months

I’m looking to buy the HT-A9 set up. Originally I was going to get the HT-A7000 with rear RS5’s. But I really just want a home theater movie experience. I only use my TV for music for my kids. I can find this HT-A9 for $1,000-1,200 and I have a Sony X95K 75”. Nobody has replied to comments I have left on other videos but it looks like a good fit for me.

Can you explain? When you say they don’t get loud. What do you mean? Like at max volume they don’t hurt your ears? Or are you saying at max volume you and another person are able to have a casual conversation while audio is playing?

I hope they will come in black one day 😉 , but still what is holding me back is the fact that the whole system is reliable on a set up box. If that ages or breaks down the whole system is down.
Thank you so much for your comment and makes a lot of sense what you are telling but I had multiple products from Sony and they are rock solid… i per example have my first Tv from the 80s and it still works so basically 40 years old.. of this system last 10 years per example is not bat at all maybe in 10 years I want also a new sound system… but that’s something to see in the future until now I can’t even think in another sound system yes is not perfect but the sound quality is unbelievable just would like to be able to push more power I feel that Sony really is under powering the all system to protect the speakers but this speakers have much more to give
@@MADpack i have had the opposite reaction , couple of Sony products broke down and their after sales are really really bad. Basically they want you to buy a new one instead of helping you out in any other way. Still i think the idea is really great cinema wise. I just don't like the look of the speakers in their current form.
At my livingroom they match but that’s a question of preference I was a bit concern about the white grey colour that the Sony HT A9 but I love it and like I said for me since I never had a bad experience with them and my first Tv still works almost 40 years later I’m going to still trust it because they work fine beside this I bough it with a 2 years warranty from John Lewis so it should be fine
I have this exact same setup. HT-A9, A95K, SA-SW5 and even the Govee T2 lights. I'm not even using this to full potential for 3 months now. My speakers are not posted in my new place and I haven't stuck the lights on the back of the TV. My buddy is a pro A/V guy who will settle it all for me when we get around to it. Very impressive sound system if not the best I've ever owned. My people ridiculed me for spending so much, but I hands down have the best visual audio setup out of all of us and it isn't even fully optimized.
@@MADpack as you know, we have those removable cover plates on our TV. I'm just waiting to have everything set where I won't need to unplug nor move anything and then I'll commit. I want the plates on before I stick the LEDs.
I prefer without them because I don’t need to cover them the tv is against the wall so I don’t see the point to close the back of your Sony a95k because if you need it will be a problem to open in the future just food for thoughts

I am looking for a great sound system for my tv ( Bravia 65inch x90L-surprisingly it has good speakers for a tv). My preferences as of now- 1. Bose ultra with sub 700-based on previous experience with bose (without surround-hate that adapter) 2. HT a-9 with SW5 sub - both Sony & Bose setup costs same here 3. Remotely 3rd - Samsung q990c - only coz my friend has 990b and he says it’s great and I should give it a try although i heard it at store and didn’t find anything great about it (my friend said store guy might not have set it up rightly) I have had few sound systems as below and my experience with it 1. Sony 5.1 with Bluray setup-don’t remember the model no anymore- I found it average 2. Bose sound bar 700 with Sub 700 ( amazing sound stage, vocals and instrument clarity, sony ht s2000/a3000/5000 system with both sw 3/5 sub i heard till now sounded decent considering price tag but tiny and okayish at vocals in comparison to Bose 700 setup) Sadly i haven’t got a chance to listen to a9 setup in person. So please help me decide and if you have experienced Bose also for a comparison point.
Hi there sorry to just answer now but I’ve been really bad with Covid so yesterday I read your message but I just wanted to rest. Today I’m better so here I am to answer you. I can see that you really like Bose I have to admit I’m not a fan of Bose because they have tendency to push to much the bass and that will affect all the sound. Like I’ve said on the video if you are looking for quality sound the Sony ht-a9 is the best, the worst if you are used to a soundbar set up is you will miss the central speaker but when you pass that you understand why this system couldn’t have the central so strong because that will affect the spacial sound and that’s essencial for me. Is you like bass also really throng and high and high volumes this is also not for you. Besides this times to times you need to turn it off and on because the back speakers start losing the quality of sound that happens if you have a small house like mine so the controller is too close to the speakers and front ones should be also 1.5 meters away from it. I love my Sony ht-a9 I hated Samsung q990b is was really bad a lot of bugs and issues and the sound yes a lot of volume but no definition. And the Q symphony works only if I was close to the tv otherwise in my living room if I was seated where I am to see tv I couldn’t almost hear any difference. Hope that this help… I’m not recommending you Sony because I have if money is not a problem I will consider the Nakamichi dragon I believe that’s even better than the Sony ht-a9 but you need more space. Hi there I don’t have an answer for that my ceiling is high and I don’t have a problem I would say if you have space on the back don’t put the back speakers to close to you try to make in a way that you are like in the middle of the room if you use the speakers as the edges of that room hope it helps

Hi! I’m still trying to convince myself if to get the ht-a9 or going half the price with the samsung q990c. I have a projector and an apple tv 4k. So no tv/center. Probably, from time to time, some blurays as well. What do you think will offer that cinema experience? I heard that both of them are very good, but it’s hard to decide. I don’t know if the a9 offers a completely more immersive experience. Right now I only have a 2.1 music system with the big focal aria 948 and the svs sb-1000 pro subwoofer. The base in the movies is quite powerful, but, of course there’s no cinema atmosphere/dolby experience. Thank you!

The Sony ht a9 is amazing creating Fantom speakers but is it like physical speakers? I would say no but this without having to put holes and speakers everywhere is one of the best sound experience that I try and delivers the closest experience to a cinema experience but in my livingroom
I disagree with the loudness. I live in an apartment with a big living room, I don't need more than 35-45 on the volume level. It's plenty loud, also I have good speaker placement and acoustic feedback. Tip, for the subwoofer I'd definitely buy an acoustic isolation mat. It makes a big difference to the clarity, you get better cleaner bass tones with less wall vibrations & a lot helps with noise cancellation to an extent so less neighbour complaints 😅.
Would you still recommend the hta9 over the 990b if you dont have a "center channel" sony tv? Also my space is really limited. My rear speakers will have to go on the wall and are really close to my couch. Do you have a suggestion which "rears" could work better?
The hta9 is a set of speakers I love them and mine are on top of the sofa if you are limited in space and money even the creative 360 stage that I have review is a good option and super cheap

Hi there. The Samsung q990b I have reviewed on the channel and if you see my review I would say you will not even consider. But if you want Samsung is higher in volumes much less refined in sound atmos experience I though it was good after trying the Sony the Sony ht a9 blow your mind but if you want to spend more than the Sony you have that Japanese brand that’s seems to beat the sonny system but cost more

So, here's the deal, I'm about to have a projector with dolby atmos and, since I have never experienced it or even a decent sorround sound in giving the dolby atmos feature a priority for my new home theater. So, I was so sure I was getting a samsung Q990D because of its supposed 11.1.4 configuration. But, as I understood in your video, the atmos experience is far superior on those A9? Can the 990D be that different from the 990B you had? I would love your take.

After the bad experience I had with Samsung, not only the sound but also the tv that my trust in the moment in Samsung products is really low. Also a lot of people have reported issues even with the 990c on my videos. The experience with the ht a9 is unique. You have a new version the square from sony but I didn't try. I can say that Samsung feel like a normal cinema experience at home and this one is like going to the cinema because the sound is balanced everywhere
Not at all after you get used to… if you have a soundbar you will notice because is not in your face. That’s why this sound is so surrounding because no speaker over take the other
Just got the HT A9 for Christmas and was wondering if any one is still getting dropouts or is it actually fixed now. I've been seeing some recent reviews of some people still getting dropouts but not as much. Most are saying that the issue has been fixed and shouldn't be a problem now. I'm replacing a Roku sound bar pro with a sub and 4 surround speakers. The verdict is still out on weather I think the a9 is better than the Roku but I do feel like it's a small upgrade,but I'm not getting that WOW factor yet. I'm hoping to not get any drop outs, because if I get just one drop out that I didn't cause, I will be sending it back. I'm still doing speaker and sub placement and will probably keep it until I realize that I'm not gonna get that WOW factor in addition to getting a drop out.
Hi there thank you for your comment… is rare to get a drop out but that happen mainly for two reasons… you don’t have the best WiFi connection or your speakers are to close to each others. If you don’t find the difference compared to a Roku sound system (a sub $300 set up) I have to say that or you have things set up wrong or you really have audition problems because at least for me I can say you have not a lot of sound systems like this… I think you main complaint now because you came from a very basic system and you are upset is that you miss the punch of sound coming from the front and this doesn’t give that but when you pass that and you start hearing all the surrounding that the system delivers

Hi I’m in Gujarat ( India) Thanks for sharing. India and bought HTA9 last month from Amazon ( and the Subwoofer 300) and its the best decision especially for watching films. Installation is easy and the sound is something I’ve never heard so far. I tested all sounds and found that Neural X setting is better of the three sounds in the settings. Most Bollywood films sound amazing. Aldo have a blu Ray player attaches to the audio and once again: remarkable. Do buy it without a second thought.

I never try that bass that you are saying but I try few ones and is night and day… very tight sound does go above other frequencies so the best I have try until today hope it helps

@@MADpack Yessir i do have the SW5 - and it's a beauty and well worth the purchase! I initially bought the SW3 because my apartment is not huge and i have neighbors. It was ok... but then i took a chance and bought the SW5 and i was like wow! It's not that thumping annoying loud bass. It's a discrete deep immersive base. I also have the A90J tv. I love it too. And yes I use the TV as a center speaker and it's awesome.
Q990B user here very satisfied. HT-9 (m2) really TOO MUCH !$$$$ . Sw3/5 should be included even included it’s too much money . Would upgrade to q990C probably. No need to be fooled by those industries companies marketing policies: Buy what you need !
I have already answered to you… you didn’t try at home the hta9 so you don’t have a way to compare and is night and day. Happy that you are happy with your purchase for me it was pure garbage for the price I payed so different people different expectations and requests
Have the HT-A9 and the Q990C, they are both excellent systems. One would be very happy with either system, the Sony seems more cinematic and has a larger sound stage, the Q990C is excellent and doesnt have any drop out issues. The HT-A9 with subwoofer is about $1,000 more, and NO its not $1,000 better. The HT-A9 allows you not to have to put a bar in front of your TV. Technically the Samsung goes louder, but either system is more than loud enough for just about any room in a home. Unless you spend time with both and learn there quirks you won't really understand, its hard to explain how something sounds compared to something else.

Concept is good, i just couldn't get on with the phantom center. When you realise 70% of sound comes from the center channel even the spatialness soon loses its greatness due to that. Never tried it with a Sony tv unfortunately but when you listen to say the Sennheiser max/plus it really does show just how poor the phantom center is. Hopefully they bring out the HT-A10 with an additional center speaker and all in black. :)
I don’t think they will bring a central speaker to a ht a10 why? Because of the investment of Sony on the tv speakers and they want to make it exclusive to Sony so when you are thinking to upgrade your Tv and sound system you will consider to get a Sony… and also I think it will continue to be this colour and I can tell you is less present in your eyes than a black system and I like that
@@MADpack Yeah, I understand that. I'd love to get a Sony QD-OLED but they are too damn expensive. I get a discount at Panasonic and their TVs are still the kings for movie watching. If no black speakers, hopefully they at least allow a second subwoofer 😆
I have Sony A80K, between Samsung Q990c and Sony Ht - A7000(with sub and rears)which is best given that q990c does not support q symphony and Dolby Atmos for sony tv
your not really missing out on anything without the Q symphony seriously I know I have the 77 inch S90C and the Q990C and i prefer it off but i love my Q990C amazing sound
Im a normal person bro is expensive yes but is worth it to save a bit more and buy it compared to other sound systems… remember this will last you for years.
Samsung q990c has less powerful subwoofer, does not have AI and no HDMI 2.1, no dolby vision. Rear speakers are a nice addition but are not powerful enough to give you a real atmospheric effect. The Samsung q990c is still a very good sound system and you can find it for as low as 900 bucks for a full setup with 2 rears and a sub. Ht a9 on the other hand almost has to be paired with a ws3 or better sw5. And the overall cost is now 1800 eur for ht a9 + at least 400 eur for a sw5 sub. This makes Sony 2x more expensive than Samsung. If you are lucky you can get a great deal and pay 1800 eur for ht a9 including sw5.
I had the HT-A9 together with the SW5, after two weeks I send it back and bought the Q990B. HT-A9 had good surround, center channel was not that good, sub was disappointing. Recalibrating was a different setup every time. The Q990B is really good at all points, a bit less atmos surround, but really good. So not my conclusion
Sourpund is good is 100 times better than Samsung something I said, center speaker I said on the video is not the best but if you had a much stronger center speaker that obviously will give you a much stronger sound voices will destroy your surrounding sound something that I said on the video but I have connected to the Sony a95k that helps on that… sub disappointing for someone that wants to hear loads of sub and distorting other frequencies definitely not for you like i said if you want volume is not the system for you so again you are saying what I said… recalibration changing all the time never experienced that at all is perfect all the time no issues I had just 2 or 3 times that the WiFi mess up and had to restart system I have this for almost one year… Samsung have more volume not even comparable a much loader center speaker but poor surrounding sound because of the way the sound is built in other words you got the same conclusions but you don’t care about sound fidelity or surround effect you care about volume and bass but just to add that in the end you are just the target audience that I said “if you want bass volume the ht a9 is not for you”

@Imp_G man have you try them both at home? I don’t think so they are night and day when we talk of experience of sound. But is like tastes the quality of 3D sound and clarity is not even comparable but if you want volume and loud voices the Samsung is enough
It's one of those things that was an issue in an early firmware and the internet can't let it go. Meanwhile Samsungs TVs turn up bent in 50% of cases and "puff" not a single reviewer notices. 😂

Sticking LED lights on your TV does NOT make it more immersive. In fact, you shouldn't use the lights while watching a movie as they will distract you and take you away from the movie. They do look cool when the TV is off or if you are playing music.
I have to say that I really feel you never tried a propel led calibrated on the back of my tv you seem my neighbour that used to say that until I told him come to see a film in my house and he’s opinion changed
I mean I got the Samsung hwq990c for 1250$ CAD down from 2300$ where as with Sony hta9 that system costs 1900$ on sale or 2600$ regular and doesn’t include the subwoofer that costs 900$ plus I own an LG so I don’t get that center channel that top Sony TV offer. I think those two systems trade blows but in the end for me at 1250$ it was a no brainer
I’m happy to know that you are happy with your choice. For me has a professional musician and so obsessed with sound quality and since the money was not a problem for me I find it worth it because I use it everyday and every night so I can’t complain best system I had installed on my living room

The "Monster" (youtube @NomadMonster) now has a high-end TV, the 77A80L reaches the ceiling in the 8' X 10' room with a 6' ceiling.. it needs a sound system to match... looking at the A9... your excellent review touched on the issue of using the TV centre speaker... some reviewers like it, and others do not, but no one has mentioned the difference between 65" and under verses 77" and up. 77 and 85 have three transducers and the smaller sets have two. So, do the reviewers that think using the tv for centre speakers is good, are using the larger set, and the reviewers giving it a thumbs down using the smaller sets? You did not specify what you were using. More opinions/information on that would be most appreciated. Thanks... best review so far. BTW... I tossed out my outdated audio system and for now using only the TV screen. It gives me a very interesting version of 2D surround sound... I can hear on the screen the specific place the sound is coming from... not just R/L but up and down as well... amazing...

@@MADpackso your 65" has 2 transducers and my 77" has 3. I wonder how much difference that will make. I Tested with Sony demo sound, and the X and Y coordinates of individual sounds on the screen is amazingly clear, so would that make enough difference to use the big screen as cente . No one has done that comparison.

If u can use only Sony tv as center channel, that doesn't make that sound system any better. Looks like you live in a shoe box, everything is going to sound like crap. In order for a home theater to sound good you need a home theater room. A 3×4 meter room is not the intended size room for a home theater.

The most important I would say is put the sound speakers at level ears and all in a optical distance I know this system was made to put things where ever you want but is no harm to set up things properly. You want the sound to bounce so no need to put any material that will absorve waves the Sony ht a9 is a king to set up the sound for the characteristic of your room so I would just be concern to set things up wheel and that’s it hope it helps

ive had it for over 6 months or so, I love them, I used to have a atmos setup, sub, 3 front and 2 upward facing speakers, and the rear speakers, it wasnt a full atmos but it worked, but these 4 speakers sound so much better than all those speakers I had, amazing tbh, I think u either do atmos right which will cost many thousands of dollars, or dont do it at all. but these smart speakers can make it happen.

So i have the same set up you had but rather than 2 up fireing drivers i had two speakers up on the cieling, but i still notice sound doesnt travel around all too nicely from front to back. I was wondering with the sony ht a9 how does the sound travel around the room and overhead compared to having actual speakers overhead. 🤔

I’m looking to buy the HT-A9 set up. Originally I was going to get the HT-A7000 with rear RS5’s. But I really just want a home theater movie experience. I only use my TV for music for my kids.
I can find this HT-A9 for $1,000-1,200 and I have a Sony X95K 75”. Nobody has replied to comments I have left on other videos but it looks like a good fit for me.

Thank you so much for your comment and makes a lot of sense what you are telling but I had multiple products from Sony and they are rock solid… i per example have my first Tv from the 80s and it still works so basically 40 years old.. of this system last 10 years per example is not bat at all maybe in 10 years I want also a new sound system… but that’s something to see in the future until now I can’t even think in another sound system yes is not perfect but the sound quality is unbelievable just would like to be able to push more power I feel that Sony really is under powering the all system to protect the speakers but this speakers have much more to give

Basically they want you to buy a new one instead of helping you out in any other way. Still i think the idea is really great cinema wise. I just don't like the look of the speakers in their current form.
At my livingroom they match but that’s a question of preference I was a bit concern about the white grey colour that the Sony HT A9 but I love it and like I said for me since I never had a bad experience with them and my first Tv still works almost 40 years later I’m going to still trust it because they work fine beside this I bough it with a 2 years warranty from John Lewis so it should be fine

I have this exact same setup. HT-A9, A95K, SA-SW5 and even the Govee T2 lights. I'm not even using this to full potential for 3 months now. My speakers are not posted in my new place and I haven't stuck the lights on the back of the TV. My buddy is a pro A/V guy who will settle it all for me when we get around to it. Very impressive sound system if not the best I've ever owned. My people ridiculed me for spending so much, but I hands down have the best visual audio setup out of all of us and it isn't even fully optimized.
And you need to put your govee backlight tv t2 on the back of your Sony a95k is a game changer bro
@@MADpack as you know, we have those removable cover plates on our TV. I'm just waiting to have everything set where I won't need to unplug nor move anything and then I'll commit. I want the plates on before I stick the LEDs.
I prefer without them because I don’t need to cover them the tv is against the wall so I don’t see the point to close the back of your Sony a95k because if you need it will be a problem to open in the future just food for thoughts

I am looking for a great sound system for my tv ( Bravia 65inch x90L-surprisingly it has good speakers for a tv).
My preferences as of now-
1. Bose ultra with sub 700-based on previous experience with bose (without surround-hate that adapter)
2. HT a-9 with SW5 sub - both Sony & Bose setup costs same here
3. Remotely 3rd - Samsung q990c - only coz my friend has 990b and he says it’s great and I should give it a try although i heard it at store and didn’t find anything great about it (my friend said store guy might not have set it up rightly)
I have had few sound systems as below and my experience with it
1. Sony 5.1 with Bluray setup-don’t remember the model no anymore- I found it average
2. Bose sound bar 700 with Sub 700 ( amazing sound stage, vocals and instrument clarity, sony ht s2000/a3000/5000 system with both sw 3/5 sub i heard till now sounded decent considering price tag but tiny and okayish at vocals in comparison to Bose 700 setup)
Sadly i haven’t got a chance to listen to a9 setup in person.
So please help me decide and if you have experienced Bose also for a comparison point.
Hi there sorry to just answer now but I’ve been really bad with Covid so yesterday I read your message but I just wanted to rest.
Today I’m better so here I am to answer you. I can see that you really like Bose I have to admit I’m not a fan of Bose because they have tendency to push to much the bass and that will affect all the sound.
Like I’ve said on the video if you are looking for quality sound the Sony ht-a9 is the best, the worst if you are used to a soundbar set up is you will miss the central speaker but when you pass that you understand why this system couldn’t have the central so strong because that will affect the spacial sound and that’s essencial for me.
Is you like bass also really throng and high and high volumes this is also not for you.
Besides this times to times you need to turn it off and on because the back speakers start losing the quality of sound that happens if you have a small house like mine so the controller is too close to the speakers and front ones should be also 1.5 meters away from it.
I love my Sony ht-a9 I hated Samsung q990b is was really bad a lot of bugs and issues and the sound yes a lot of volume but no definition. And the Q symphony works only if I was close to the tv otherwise in my living room if I was seated where I am to see tv I couldn’t almost hear any difference.
Hope that this help… I’m not recommending you Sony because I have if money is not a problem I will consider the Nakamichi dragon I believe that’s even better than the Sony ht-a9 but you need more space.

Hi! I’m still trying to convince myself if to get the ht-a9 or going half the price with the samsung q990c. I have a projector and an apple tv 4k. So no tv/center. Probably, from time to time, some blurays as well. What do you think will offer that cinema experience? I heard that both of them are very good, but it’s hard to decide. I don’t know if the a9 offers a completely more immersive experience. Right now I only have a 2.1 music system with the big focal aria 948 and the svs sb-1000 pro subwoofer. The base in the movies is quite powerful, but, of course there’s no cinema atmosphere/dolby experience. Thank you!

The Sony ht a9 is amazing creating Fantom speakers but is it like physical speakers? I would say no but this without having to put holes and speakers everywhere is one of the best sound experience that I try and delivers the closest experience to a cinema experience but in my livingroom

I disagree with the loudness. I live in an apartment with a big living room, I don't need more than 35-45 on the volume level. It's plenty loud, also I have good speaker placement and acoustic feedback. Tip, for the subwoofer I'd definitely buy an acoustic isolation mat. It makes a big difference to the clarity, you get better cleaner bass tones with less wall vibrations & a lot helps with noise cancellation to an extent so less neighbour complaints 😅.

The hta9 is a set of speakers I love them and mine are on top of the sofa if you are limited in space and money even the creative 360 stage that I have review is a good option and super cheap

But if you want Samsung is higher in volumes much less refined in sound atmos experience I though it was good after trying the Sony the Sony ht a9 blow your mind but if you want to spend more than the Sony you have that Japanese brand that’s seems to beat the sonny system but cost more

So, here's the deal, I'm about to have a projector with dolby atmos and, since I have never experienced it or even a decent sorround sound in giving the dolby atmos feature a priority for my new home theater.
So, I was so sure I was getting a samsung Q990D because of its supposed 11.1.4 configuration. But, as I understood in your video, the atmos experience is far superior on those A9? Can the 990D be that different from the 990B you had?

After the bad experience I had with Samsung, not only the sound but also the tv that my trust in the moment in Samsung products is really low. Also a lot of people have reported issues even with the 990c on my videos. The experience with the ht a9 is unique. You have a new version the square from sony but I didn't try. I can say that Samsung feel like a normal cinema experience at home and this one is like going to the cinema because the sound is balanced everywhere

Not at all after you get used to… if you have a soundbar you will notice because is not in your face. That’s why this sound is so surrounding because no speaker over take the other
Just got the HT A9 for Christmas and was wondering if any one is still getting dropouts or is it actually fixed now. I've been seeing some recent reviews of some people still getting dropouts but not as much. Most are saying that the issue has been fixed and shouldn't be a problem now. I'm replacing a Roku sound bar pro with a sub and 4 surround speakers. The verdict is still out on weather I think the a9 is better than the Roku but I do feel like it's a small upgrade,but I'm not getting that WOW factor yet. I'm hoping to not get any drop outs, because if I get just one drop out that I didn't cause, I will be sending it back. I'm still doing speaker and sub placement and will probably keep it until I realize that I'm not gonna get that WOW factor in addition to getting a drop out.
Hi there thank you for your comment… is rare to get a drop out but that happen mainly for two reasons… you don’t have the best WiFi connection or your speakers are to close to each others. If you don’t find the difference compared to a Roku sound system (a sub $300 set up) I have to say that or you have things set up wrong or you really have audition problems because at least for me I can say you have not a lot of sound systems like this… I think you main complaint now because you came from a very basic system and you are upset is that you miss the punch of sound coming from the front and this doesn’t give that but when you pass that and you start hearing all the surrounding that the system delivers

Hi I’m in Gujarat ( India) Thanks for sharing. India and bought HTA9 last month from Amazon ( and the Subwoofer 300) and its the best decision especially for watching films. Installation is easy and the sound is something I’ve never heard so far. I tested all sounds and found that Neural X setting is better of the three sounds in the settings. Most Bollywood films sound amazing. Aldo have a blu Ray player attaches to the audio and once again: remarkable. Do buy it without a second thought.

@@MADpack Yessir i do have the SW5 - and it's a beauty and well worth the purchase! I initially bought the SW3 because my apartment is not huge and i have neighbors. It was ok... but then i took a chance and bought the SW5 and i was like wow! It's not that thumping annoying loud bass. It's a discrete deep immersive base. I also have the A90J tv. I love it too. And yes I use the TV as a center speaker and it's awesome.

Have the HT-A9 and the Q990C, they are both excellent systems. One would be very happy with either system, the Sony seems more cinematic and has a larger sound stage, the Q990C is excellent and doesnt have any drop out issues. The HT-A9 with subwoofer is about $1,000 more, and NO its not $1,000 better. The HT-A9 allows you not to have to put a bar in front of your TV. Technically the Samsung goes louder, but either system is more than loud enough for just about any room in a home. Unless you spend time with both and learn there quirks you won't really understand, its hard to explain how something sounds compared to something else.

Concept is good, i just couldn't get on with the phantom center. When you realise 70% of sound comes from the center channel even the spatialness soon loses its greatness due to that. Never tried it with a Sony tv unfortunately but when you listen to say the Sennheiser max/plus it really does show just how poor the phantom center is. Hopefully they bring out the HT-A10 with an additional center speaker and all in black. :)
I don’t think they will bring a central speaker to a ht a10 why? Because of the investment of Sony on the tv speakers and they want to make it exclusive to Sony so when you are thinking to upgrade your Tv and sound system you will consider to get a Sony… and also I think it will continue to be this colour and I can tell you is less present in your eyes than a black system and I like that

I have Sony A80K, between Samsung Q990c and Sony Ht - A7000(with sub and rears)which is best given that q990c does not support q symphony and Dolby Atmos for sony tv

Im a normal person bro is expensive yes but is worth it to save a bit more and buy it compared to other sound systems… remember this will last you for years.
Samsung q990c has less powerful subwoofer, does not have AI and no HDMI 2.1, no dolby vision. Rear speakers are a nice addition but are not powerful enough to give you a real atmospheric effect. The Samsung q990c is still a very good sound system and you can find it for as low as 900 bucks for a full setup with 2 rears and a sub.
Ht a9 on the other hand almost has to be paired with a ws3 or better sw5. And the overall cost is now 1800 eur for ht a9 + at least 400 eur for a sw5 sub. This makes Sony 2x more expensive than Samsung. If you are lucky you can get a great deal and pay 1800 eur for ht a9 including sw5.

I had the HT-A9 together with the SW5, after two weeks I send it back and bought the Q990B.
HT-A9 had good surround, center channel was not that good, sub was disappointing. Recalibrating was a different setup every time.
The Q990B is really good at all points, a bit less atmos surround, but really good.
So not my conclusion
Sourpund is good is 100 times better than Samsung something I said, center speaker I said on the video is not the best but if you had a much stronger center speaker that obviously will give you a much stronger sound voices will destroy your surrounding sound something that I said on the video but I have connected to the Sony a95k that helps on that… sub disappointing for someone that wants to hear loads of sub and distorting other frequencies definitely not for you like i said if you want volume is not the system for you so again you are saying what I said… recalibration changing all the time never experienced that at all is perfect all the time no issues I had just 2 or 3 times that the WiFi mess up and had to restart system I have this for almost one year…
Samsung have more volume not even comparable a much loader center speaker but poor surrounding sound because of the way the sound is built in other words you got the same conclusions but you don’t care about sound fidelity or surround effect you care about volume and bass but just to add that in the end you are just the target audience that I said “if you want bass volume the ht a9 is not for you”
Q990B user here very satisfied. HT-9 (m2) really TOO MUCH !$$$$ . Sw3/5 should be included even included it’s too much money . Would upgrade to q990C probably. No need to be fooled by those industries companies marketing policies: Buy what you need !
@Imp_G man have you try them both at home? I don’t think so they are night and day when we talk of experience of sound. But is like tastes the quality of 3D sound and clarity is not even comparable but if you want volume and loud voices the Samsung is enough

It's one of those things that was an issue in an early firmware and the internet can't let it go. Meanwhile Samsungs TVs turn up bent in 50% of cases and "puff" not a single reviewer notices. 😂
@@profitfever I was having on the beginning but they made a new update not a long time ago and even does small drops like once a month are not happening anymore

Is just like a generic and I have to say they are not great I wanted them higher but they can’t handle so I have them but I would recommend that you search something elae

Sticking LED lights on your TV does NOT make it more immersive. In fact, you shouldn't use the lights while watching a movie as they will distract you and take you away from the movie. They do look cool when the TV is off or if you are playing music.
I have to say that I really feel you never tried a propel led calibrated on the back of my tv you seem my neighbour that used to say that until I told him come to see a film in my house and he’s opinion changed
I mean I got the Samsung hwq990c for 1250$ CAD down from 2300$ where as with Sony hta9 that system costs 1900$ on sale or 2600$ regular and doesn’t include the subwoofer that costs 900$ plus I own an LG so I don’t get that center channel that top Sony TV offer. I think those two systems trade blows but in the end for me at 1250$ it was a no brainer
I’m happy to know that you are happy with your choice. For me has a professional musician and so obsessed with sound quality and since the money was not a problem for me I find it worth it because I use it everyday and every night so I can’t complain best system I had installed on my living room

The "Monster" (youtube @NomadMonster) now has a high-end TV, the 77A80L reaches the ceiling in the 8' X 10' room with a 6' ceiling.. it needs a sound system to match... looking at the A9... your excellent review touched on the issue of using the TV centre speaker... some reviewers like it, and others do not, but no one has mentioned the difference between 65" and under verses 77" and up. 77 and 85 have three transducers and the smaller sets have two. So, do the reviewers that think using the tv for centre speakers is good, are using the larger set, and the reviewers giving it a thumbs down using the smaller sets? You did not specify what you were using. More opinions/information on that would be most appreciated. Thanks... best review so far.
BTW... I tossed out my outdated audio system and for now using only the TV screen. It gives me a very interesting version of 2D surround sound... I can hear on the screen the specific place the sound is coming from... not just R/L but up and down as well... amazing...

@@MADpackso your 65" has 2 transducers and my 77" has 3. I wonder how much difference that will make. I Tested with Sony demo sound, and the X and Y coordinates of individual sounds on the screen is amazingly clear, so would that make enough difference to use the big screen as cente . No one has done that comparison.
@NomadMonster unfortunately this comparisons I made with my money contacted all brands but no brands reach me back unfortunately this niche of tvs is hard to enter with the size of my channel

If u can use only Sony tv as center channel, that doesn't make that sound system any better. Looks like you live in a shoe box, everything is going to sound like crap. In order for a home theater to sound good you need a home theater room. A 3×4 meter room is not the intended size room for a home theater.
