I am once again totally dumbstruck to hear that I am not the only one suffering from this sensation but also that it has a name! Thanks Kim for shedding light on this and helping all women deal with these issues that no one wants to address. I will definitely try this when my next flare up occurs. Just practicing now.
@@vaginacoach I am actually doing these as kind of preventive medicine now. Just a quick session after my kegel exercises. I only have rare flare-ups of this but the pain is intense and used to be scary as I didn't know what was going on with me.
I am guy and get it too. I didn’t Know it had a name. I also feel the cramp on my pelvis. So scary. It feels like electricity deep in my anus. I am going to request a colonoscopy to rule out any other condition
@@Orlanzepol123 I actually found the name of this when I explained this to my doctor right before my colonoscopy. At first, he called it rectal spasm. But then he gave me the proper name and I looked it up. It can be super painful. My husband also gets it.
Thank you for posting this. I’ve just had a flare up in the middle of the night so have got up out of bed to do the exercises and drink water and the pain is now subsiding. Much appreciated.
Kim, thanks for creating this video. I've found that drinking a pint of water (all at once) helps my pain subside. Gulping a pint of water appears to work faster than any pain relief via pills. I started drinking water, about 20 years ago, as a way to get rid of the nausea that accompanied the pain but quickly found out that the pain left within 10 to 15 minutes.
I suffer from this as well and often these episodes occur at night. Infrequent but very gripping pain for sure. Thank you for this video and I will try these exercises out, especially with the ball. When I feel one coming on I usually drop into a deep squat with my knees wide part and try to keep my heals down. I try to imagine stretching my pelvic floor which tends to be overactive. Sometimes I can abort the episode.
I am a male that has suffered for years with P F , I thought I had prostate problems .I researched the symptoms on the net and now I know, what my problem is .I suggest for many people that have an attack in public to tell people that you are having a bad back spasm ,that is partially true .
I had to warn my employer at my place of employment because the pain can be so severe that I could faint or vomit. It gets so bad during the pain that I can’t even talk and I writhe in pain. I was afraid that they might call EMS or try giving me CPR or something. I’m 60 so I didn’t want them to think I was having a heart attack - it’s a butt attack 😩
a butt attack! LOL! I' sorry you struggle with this and I think that is such an important point you make about notifying people around you if they see you experience it. Thanks for sharing!
Hi, my dad has this condition as well. It's so frustrating watching him having an episode since the last time I lost him unconscious like for 2 minutes and I got very scared :"(
I thought I was the only one who had random pain in my rectum. This started post menopause. It feels like a nerve. When I did these stretches I could not beleive how sore and tight I was in my right hip, lower back and hamstrings. These stretches felt good. Thank you!
I tried Advil, but it helped rather too quickly, within seconds. So, wondered if it wasn’t the meds that helped to relieve the pain. Today, I tried to just drink some water, and it worked without any meds! 🎉 From now on I’m going to always carry a small bottle of water in my purse…
I did this but a day late . I can still feel pressure today nothing like yesterday. I also wonder if diet can attribute to this ?. Tylenol helped but I never take meds so it was necessary. Thank you
Kim, I liken this to what I call a “Charlie Horse” or a cramp in the butt. It started with me when I was in my late 20’s and noticed it happening occasionally after intercourse or for no reason at all it would wake me up in the night lasting from a couple minutes up to 10+ minutes. I’m now over 70 and the frequency has dropped dramatically but it still happens.

@@marshaking8504Spasm is a great to explain what it is . Yes, the pain is unbearable.
How many people are awoken in the middle of the night right now searching for relief and watching this? 😂

Be blessed darling, I was feeling like passing out from shooting rectum pain. This worked miracles ❣️
I’m so glad I found this video. For several years I have had these symptoms at night. I will definitely do the bedtime yoga. Thank you so much!

I have only ever had one at night which I feel lucky for. Thanks for your addition about what you do!

Thank you so much!!! It used to make me faint and I used to run around holding my bum, just terrible !!!!

But it hurts to sit!
Thank you
Can you show this for plus size individuals. Or is there a modification to these? Thanks so much
which ones are you finding difficulty with? I can assume but prefer to hear what you find challenging so I can give you best modifications.
Thank you!
I have an awful hamstring strain that that happened the same time as I start to get this pain.. wonder if they are connected
the hamstrings do attach to the pelvis...and everything is connected :-)
Hi can you use this exercises if you have spasms from a chronic anal fissure as i am in so much pain after bowel movement i barely can stand
I’m getting pain after bowel moment also! So aggravating!

High inflammation in the body can exacerbate pain... and diet can play a role in inflammation.
Thank you SO MUCH!!! This has been a mysterious, uncomfortable pain my whole life. My brother suffers as well - he would jokingly call it "butt lock."

Is it Protalgia Fugax?

yep - a calf cramp in the butt ;-). Glad they are lessening for you.
Is this for burning pain in rectum?
Yes
Thank you!!!
bold of you to assume we can sit in a chair when this is happening
just giving options.
