Clearly you just want to argue and be right. That's why you pulled out your phone.People are always trying to bring their so called "service dog's"everywhere.Knowing perfectly well that it's not.Just like comfort pets, try to pass their comfort pet as a service animal.A comfort dog has not a service dog.Valerie did her job and that lady did get her room.Bless all that work in customer service.
Hi, I’m the lady in the video (hubby’s account). My dog is a medical alert and assistance dog who is task trained to help with my disability. She had gone through extensive training and passed the AKC CGC and public access tests, registered as a Service Dog in the county we lived in voluntarily and Certified by Paragon Dog obedience. She’s a bonafide service dog 🤗
You really do owe Valerie an apology. I'm embarrassed for you that you put this on the internet. Maybe you can get your friend a service monkey that will correct her awful behavior.
No service dogs aren’t the issue it’s these emotional support dogs and people who refuse to show any form of documentation but yet still want to be serviced on are the issue.

The beginning of the video was cut off but if the clerk was asking for documentation re: the service dog she cannot ask for that ( by law) but she she allowed to ask if the dog is required due to a disability and if so what tasks is the dog trained to perform. If the guest doesn’t want to answer the questions or cannot provide answers to either questions hotel are allowed to refuse them. They are also allowed to refuse “comfort” animals also referred to as therapy animals . These animals are not covered by the ada as service animals. And even if a service animal is approved - guests must abide by all hotel policies set up in case of the exceptions. Working in the hotel industry we have seen an incline of service animals and sadly persons trying to pass household pets off as them as well
Nikki M - that just sucks that people will use their pets and "say" they are "service" animals just so they can have their pets with them. Also real service animals have to go through training and have paperwork to show it.

They can ask me to follow all policies but they can’t ask me to do something that I can’t do.
Brian Kerrigan ma’am if your dog certified as your service just show it and done . No need to argued. That’s the policy that they need to follow and they need to know the task of your dog. Mostly people checking in at the hotel they hide or alibi or lied in front just to have a free pet fee for 150$ . lesson learn and no need to argument ma’am just show the certificate or tell the task of your service dog and you can check in that quick. God bless
Seriously? Picking a fight with someone who's just trying to do her job? I notice you only shared a portion of this conversation, so we don't even know how this discussion escalated. But I have a feeling it's due to you being a drama queen and making a scene. You're what the kids nowadays call a "Karen".
Notice have everything was not recorded by this lady that’s why it seems like front desk lady is at fault.. these days many guest walk in and claim their dog is service dog I really think hotels should be allowed to ask for proof
Some Super 8's do allow pets, but charge a fee, depending on kind of dog or weight/size. If you were attempting to call your dog a service dog, as to avoid an additional fee, that's your mistake and arrogance. If the dog was legitimately a service dog, you should have had taken the responsibility to show proof. By denying to show any documentation, almost makes it appear you didn't feel as if you needed to pay for the dog. If that's the case, it makes this video as cringe filled to watch, like those, "I'm I being detained videos; when a person is asked to show their drivers license to a cop. Just saying lady... just saying. I believe, regardless of the case, the employee handled YOU and the situation rather well.

My hands were too swollen and hurting to put my dogs vest on. ADA covers both scenarios. They can’t ask me for documentation and they can’t ask me to vest my dog. They’re not allowed to do either of those things.

Why not search specifically for PET FRIENDLY hotels motels? www.pet-friendly-hotels.net I understand service dogs are not 'pets' but if you find a great hotel that loves 4 legged guests just as much as 2 legged guests - that is a good thing ! :-)
It's a family vacation, that she wants to bring the family dog on. Hotels can solve this problem by charging a deposit of $500.00 for the dog, and an additional non refundable $200.00 a night for the dog.
Brenda Laprince Foster off who the hell “vacations” in Valparaiso, Indiana?! I was on my way from California to a funeral. In the case of Service dogs hotels cannot charge extra. They’re medical equipment.
Skylar Adele. the issue is you cannot, by law, ask for papers proving an animal is trained as a service animal. 1. Animals are not trained by government run facilities or individuals (so no way to PROVE anything) ..... 2. Asking would be an intrusion of the guests privacy. Nobody wants to explain their disability to some rando at the front desk. At the hotel I work at we simply ask if the dog is a pet. If the guest says it's a service animal we say ok an hand them the keys. It's really not that hard. With how much money hotels make they can spare a bit to replace the carpet occasionally. They don't do that enough anyway.
Alecia Goins Well it must be nice to be a pet owner and patronize your hotel. However, OTHER hotels/motels have fees and requirements for such things. This video makes the customer appear to be a grown spoiled brat, wishing to get her way... the way most women today, go about the day. Would she do the same if it where a cop asking her of proof that the dog is for service? If she would do the same.... congratulations, your friend is a typical 2018 woman, who gets her way by making people so uncomfortable, it's either fight or flight when dealing with them. Hope her child or children, don't pick up such an awful habit. I give Valerie thumbs up for not acting azz, but, a thumb down for having to cave to such a childish, possible liar like your friend.
I have a emotional support dog and I use a pet stroller for public transit a a bus driver kept giving me a hard time when I would get on the bus so I called the bus company and complained about his behaviour. On their own website on the section "pets on board" it clearly stated that I was in the right to board the bus because my dog was in a pet carrier plus I had a special bus pass for the disabled which I showed him when I first boarded the bus and he was in the wrong. So I know how she feels. Pet strollers can be bought on Amazon.
Kat nip problem is, people suffer from pet hair allergies and do you not think that causes stress when they come in contact with a dog that should not be allowed in a building?
@UnholyUndies fuck you! I get so fed up with people who have a disability and want to make it a contest. I do have a disability you asshole and even if I didn't they still can't deny me bringing my dog on board the buss because he was enclosed. He was no threat to anyone else.
