It's hard nowadays all my family were petrol heads its rubbed off on me and my brother, the future generations don't want to know they live different lives to what we did. Like you and alot of others we were always repairing our own cycles, we had a old yam passola we used as a field bike hours of fun on that. And repairs. My dad bought us a kamasa socket set.
Love the videos again Alan! Your pronouncing "Lumpia" wrong - ask Ken how it should be pronounced. Every time I watch your vids I miss the Philippines :)
Tyler is such a jammy git. Shiny new bike, rides in his crocs, fried chicken for breakfast at 6 in the morning. He will go far. You're going to have to learn bikes now Alan. Bit of a gear change from diesel Mondeos!
Regarding powercuts, obviously a pain in the bum when they are regular. Do many people use house bateries or generators which "kick in" when needed. Or is it just a case of put up with them.
Looking good Al, nice job on the bike chain, love the snap on spanners ??? Motorbike would be great where you are, need waterproofs all the time here....
In Asia and in developing countries in general there are mechanics everywhere to the point people would look at you funny if you did your own repairs because mechanics are very cheap. Its a very different way of life there.
@@alan4x no bother .to care for the chain dip a rag in oil [ old engine oil is ok ] wipe it over the chain as often as you want .this keeps it lubricated between chain lubes
Chain gease is your only man, put a plastic bag over your hand and masage the grease into the chain, Better still melt grease in a tin can, take the chain off, and imearse it in the grease for 15 minutes ! my mate worked maintenance at a food factory, spray grease with anti fling was the best chain lube, environmentally friendly+ it would wash out your jeans nee bother...
Hi Alan my first bike was also a Honda Melody bought in 1986 for £30. After many years I now own another Melody but this one is yellow and now tax and MoT exempt. I get quite a few looks riding around the streets of Bristol mainly from the middle aged generation who can remember them.
Honda Melody 😂😂, I remember taking the foremans honda cbx 1000 to where we had to park out motorbikes , across in the compound across from the garage (Fiat dealers in Bolton ) , i was 16 😂😂, rode it across the road took it to park it up , tried to put it on the main stand on the flagged area we were given , it was too bleedin heavy to put on the stand , I had to let it down , and rest on the older apprentices Honda Melody (yellow ) seat cushioning with the handle bar 😂😂😂, a week later i was sent on a breakdown , on Her Honda with a clutch cable for a Fiat Panda , yes a female mechanic 😂😂😂😂I was given a fuel chitty to fill it up , filled it from next to nothing , 3 litres , about a quid 😂😂😂, better order a chain and sprocket kit for tylers bike , how much are they new over there ? , great video as always Alan 👍👏👏👏👏
Top video as usual Alan. Seeing lots of people on 1 bike reminds me as a young’un we paid per bike to go to the drive in movies, we managed to get 6 of us in on a Suzuki AC 50. That included a back pack of sneaky beer.
How about some background information Alan, how old do you have to be to ride the Kawasaki ? Is there a limit to the size of engine Tyler can ride ?is there any form of driving test ? How much was the bike ? How much is petrol per gallon. ?
Hi Alan although it is not mandatory by law in the Philippines to wear a helmet whilst riding a motorcycle,I would strongly advice you and tyler to do so, inorder to avoid a head injury in the event of an accident.
@@Finglesham Have you ever been in the tropics? While I would probably wear a helmet you will die if you try to wear leathers in that climate. I'd probably just stick to less than 30mph and count on a bit of luck...
It looks like Alans subs are all fun police health and safety goons. You emigrate to somewhere like that to get aways from rules and regulations.
Exactly😊thank you gl… it’s having the choice to live a little dangerously if you want😁
From one father to another, teach your son to do his own maintenance, don’t do it for him, he will learn nothing if you keep doing it for him

lol, yes I will, the weather and the scenery certainly makes you want to ride a motorcycle☺️
Use chain lube in a spray can!! Chain tension check 1x month!!
cheers

most residencies don't have generators but a lot of business owners do

Cheers Steve 😊
Best to adjust the chain with the person sat on the bike that way you adjust it properly.
If you get a tight spot on a chain basically it’s fucked , try getting some dry lube spray for the chain it doesn’t attract dust .
cheers Edward ☺️
Use WD40 to spray your chain
☺️
Get another bike Alan 250 400 trail bike you wont go wrong mate.
you can use gearbox oil as an alternative to chain lube if thats not aviable
☺️
I had a kawasaki kmx 125 alan nice bikes, Honda melody 😮 that's going back we had a passola field bike good fun
☺️
pronounced "Loomppia" not " Lump-ya"
I bet your loving the Fisher Price toolkit 😂👍🇮🇪

Might be a brake squeak also
Its about time you got back on the spanners. When you setting up your own garage over there
too many people doing too much of everything over here🤣
@@alan4x do you think that's you done then with the spanners. Won't you eventually get bored as you seem to really enjoy your job

Hi Alan you'll need to get some nobbly tyres for the car to get up that track 👍👍🏴
😁
Don't forget to change the oil on the motor cycle every 2000 k

if you see a vito while riding bike let me know

Go faster on the mud you have more control.
Great video Alan, It looks like you're really settling in.

Bare feet, arms, legs and head?
Get chain wax,its the best for those conditions, the oil you put on will just fly off

Rare that it is becoming, in the UK we do still have Cold Hard Cash.
In the Philippines you are blessed with Warm Soft Currency :)

Great video Allan ,but please remember even a very slow speed minor call can split your head open like an egg.

And protective clothing. I have a Kawasaki ER5 and would never venture out without leather clothes , and a helmet of course.

Be careful on that bike, particularly with no helmet and bare skin.
David I can’t hear you😂
