We basically make the same thing except we shred everything to make more of a pickle relish. It’s so delicious and an easy way to use up overgrown zucchini.
Those look very good. Love the idea of cumin instead of turmeric. Condiments always enhance the flavor of your food. Makes everything even more delicious.
I think I’d really like that with curry powder! What a great substitute for plain turmeric. There’s only so many ways to pickle…& I don’t want all my pickled stuff to taste too similar, which it seems they sometimes do. I’ll be trying this with my green tomatoes…of which I’ll likely have a ton. 😬😜lol!
One of these days....I hope soon....I will officially can something. I live in Zone 7b and the heat has really taken it's tole on the garden. There isn't enough for processing much. The birds got most of my blackberries early this year and I missed out! I'm pretty sure that I will be doing some sort of Chow or Relish! Thank you for all the great videos. I look forward to seeing your channel notifications in my UA-cam feed. God Bless!
I gotta get to bed but gotta watch this video first ... It's 2am here in New York ... I live in Northern New York along the New York Canada border ... My house is less than 5 miles to the Trout River border and about 20 min drive to the Cornwall border Where the St Lawrence River divides them
Hi Bev, I watch all your videos and have learned so much from you. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy life to educate us. You mentioned your knife sharpener does a great job. May I ask what brand sharpener you use? I haven't had much luck finding a good sharpener. Thank you, have a great day!
I want to start canning but have a few questions: what is the difference between boil bath canning and pressure canning? what are the pros and cons of each, why use one over the other? Is one safer than the other? Boil bath seems easier for me to do. Thanks for your help.
Only certain foods can be water bathed. You must have pressure canner to process meats, potatoes, and other low acid foods. They must be processed at higher temps than can be obtained water bathing. Must kill bacteria that causes botulism.. Get Ball blue book for canning and preserving foods.
It looks like the sugar and apple cider vinegar are 1/2 the amount used in your green tomato relish 2018 (which I LOVE)...so I know these will be delicious, just a little less sweet than the relish right??? Thank you!
Hello, I love your videos! I was just trying to rewatch one of the "for jars party" videos I saw last week and I can't find any of them. did you take them down or am I just not searching right or missing something?
The more I watch you, the more I learn. I think one of these days I could actually can. Yippee!
I remember my grandma and mom making End-Of-The-Garden relish. Never the same as the year before but always delish 😋

I love to watch you can things. 🥰💕🥰
I like the many ideas you have for working with food. They are all good and this one is definitely a good one. Thank you for all your hard work.
A chow chow can be made with so many variations. That looks good.
I tasted it it was bloody delicious! I will be making more if I can because I bet it's delicious on a cheese sandwich

9-10 cups has One Cup packed Brown sugar to 3/4 - 1 Cup Vinegar. tsp each of spices. I usually make a double batch.
