It really was one of Breaking Bad's best moments.
It's underrated because it's nothing compared to rest of the series, tbh. It has a narrative effect, but it was just the beginning. While all the moments after had a build up of more time and more deeply subjects. Sorry pal, it's one of the best moments, but at least top 50
It's so weird going back and seeing Walt SO affected by as single person's death, knowing what he'll go on to do (the jailhouse stuff, the Nazi's...where a bunch of people die at once).
in BCS he's seen with his superiors and even the cartel's high command the whole time in BB he's seen with his cook (Jesse), his cousin who's his equal and a uselles dorky school teacher.
I forget how powerful the entire sequence starting with 21:42 is from Cranston. A man trying to cling to whatever scrap of conscious is left in his soul, he knows he's in too deep already, and he has to kill another human if he can't find this broken piece. "Why are you doing this." Chilling.

And in his backstory in Better Call Saul we see that he wasn’t really that tough or bold. He just used his informant connection with the DEA to get rid of his competition and took advantage of Tuco being in prison to build his own distribution network.

Imagine when Nacho grabbed Krazy 8 outside, he told him to "Make it look real" before dragging him inside the restaurant.
That would 100% make sense considering the scene where Nacho told the same to Mike the day before Nacho's death, "Got to make it look real, right?"

Video game logic, Krazy-8 was the first boss while Tuco was the main boss of S1.
S1: Tuco
S2: Jane (attacks with dirty needles)
S3: Salamanca Twins
S4: Gus
S5: Mike (though Walter was more fitting)
S6: Jack/Todd

The character development is insane
I think Krazy-8’s aging from BB is the least distracting out of all the characters who appear in this prequel.
For real. Saul's aging wasn't as bad as some people make it out to be. Gus, Jesse, and Eladio however were super distracting.
