Looks good! Small, because it only had to reach low earth orbits. 1:200 scale. I wonder what the original Estes Space Shuttle scale was. Estes also put out a larger foam shuttle that came in a starter set. It didn't have the boosters or main tank though. BTW, if you can't resist modifying the shuttle, be sure to trim it with the mods. The clay weight is probably for trimming the shuttle. The hook that the shuttle hangs on looks fragile in the video. Is that the part they designed to break? LOL!
You're right, the scale is correct............ but Geez Louise!!!! LOL Yes, the clay is for the orbiter. Will have to go down the street where there is a small grass field to do some light trim glide testing......
LOL, don't think that idea hadn't occurred to me. What really surprised me was how small it really was. It would take micro RC to fit in there somewhere. But flying and filming would be especially difficult as well! LOL Great thinking though!
@@KevinsModels That's where your lovely assistant (a.k.a. your wife) would come into play. Lol...Might have to train her some on your filming techniques..lol
I’m noting that the detail paint isn’t terribly accurate. I wouldn’t be able to resist correcting it. That said, it’s to scale with the SLS and Saturn V stack.
Correct on the scale size..... and yes, it is SUPER tempting to correct the livery of it. I don't recall any orbiter having "Estes" on the right wing. They didn't do that to the other "scale" RTF rockets. Thanks for your feedback! :)
I felt the same way when they released the SLS. I didn't buy it and I wont buy this one either. I would love to see Max Q pull off a nice scale size Endeavour Shuttle Kit. ESTES.... BIGGER PLEASE Upgrade the old school kit for us...
I’ll add it to the list. I’m focusing on the current generation of rockets coming online at the moment. If I run out I’ll go back and do some historical rockets as well.
Once Randall gets caught up on the modern stuff, then takes a well deserved break, the history of spacecraft offer a plethora for him to choose from! Can't wait to see what is down the pipeline!
One of these days I am going to scratch build one of those. I just need to figure out a shuttle for it. I don't think my shuttle building skills are that good

Now is the time to put your RC skills and make that Shuttle controllable on the return to Earth!...lol

I like it. The 1:200 scale matches up with the SLS and Saturn V models. I had pre-ordered mine but it hasn't arrived yet.
It looks really good on the shelf next to the the other scale models!
It's sooooo cute! 😱😁🤪🤣👍👍🇺🇸

Nice
Thank you!
Woot woot
I hope to be that enthusiastic after it flies as well............. LOL
Cool 🎉
Thank you Titus!

That would be awesome Chris. I'm sure there are plans out there somewhere for the kit...........
I can design you a simple shuttle you can build out of foamboard! 😁👍👍🇺🇸
Are those tile details on the bottom?
I think it's an "attempt", but not a very good one. I give this thing one upright landing and any/all detail will be lost.
Wait, don’t open it. Save it for 20 years first.
I have another one for just that purpose. 1 to fly, and 1 to hoard! LOL
