I hope you see this. I’ve been making your original recipe that you posted 12 years ago since I was 10. Over the years I’ve tweaked the recipe to what my family loves most. I bring them to family gatherings and make them on rainy days. I love coming back on that video knowing how far it’s taken me now. I’m glad you’ve posted a new recipe so hopefully some other 11 year old girl can experience my same nostalgia over the years for it. Thank you
You have no idea how much you have made my life!!! 🥹 THIS RECIPE was my FAVORITE cookie as a kid and I only knew one person who made it this way but she never shared her secret! I tried store bought ones that couldn’t even touch the hem of this cookie’s garment 🤣 You just gave me the keys to heaven girl 🤣 from a fellow North Carolina Diva 😆💗 I basically ate the whole batch in one night 🫣
This cookies look delicious and simple to make, at first I thought it was a little Debbie remake of the star crunch which happens to be my favorite snack cake.
I’ve made these twice now and they’ve turned out great! My mother even says these remind her of cookies her Aunt Bertha used to make. Thank you for sharing this recipe with us, and I hope you have a great day!
Thank you for this. My Momma use to make these. She was a 'Room Mother ' at my school and any time we had an event, she was always asked to make these. We called them 'Preacher cookies.' Man, there were never any left for her to take home! 😊. These cookies are wonderful and bring back wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing this recipe! ❤️
Recipe (similar) takes me back. Gran would sometimes make a similar cookie (-PB) then put a scoop of ice cream between two and send us outside, lol. Might just need to give these a try... it's been yeeeaaarrrs. I'll use your recipe just as it is, which I always do at least the first time or two.... then make any adjustments +/- for taste/texture. Young Lady, I thoroughly enjoy your videos, and although I don't cook or bake as much these days I always enjoy listening to your voice-overs. Rapid fire never skip a beat get a bunch of info into a small bit of time with lots of humor also. But, the thing that I "feel" the most is the pure light and Joy coming from your heart not only when sharing a recipe but when remembering special moments or people in your life. Thank you for sharing. God Bless you Abundantly in all your needs and Keep you Safe in HIS Loving Embrace. Have an AWESOME week ahead.
HONEY YESSSSSSSS. These were THE cookies in the fam growing up. I make these for friends and they lose their minds. It's such a hidden treasure recipe 🙏⭐
I am a cook and I have seen a lot of oatmeal recipes but this one is the best when she says her mama's was the best you can write it down on your veins it's the best delicious God bless you for sharing 😋😋😋😋
We had these in school but we're not shaped into cookies. It was in the pan and cut into squares. I do mine like that. I grew up when the cafeteria ladies actually cooked from scratch not out of boxes to warm up food!
“They just get better the next day”-if they last that long! 😁😁😁 Sadly, I am one of those ‘other’ tables at the bake sales. I don’t even want to think how many times I have wasted ingredients on these cookies to only have the recipe flop-and I love these cookies. I’m off to the kitchen! Thank you soooooo much for this recipe and fantastic instructions! Blessings
I have made these for 50 years, and never pulled out a cookie sheet. At the holidays I cover a folding table with wax paper and do this recipe times 6.My kids always have loved them, and my Grandson as well. Quick and easy!
My mom made these at least three or four times a year for us. They are the most satisfying cookies I’ve ever had. I once brought four batches to a Christmas party, and there was not one left over LOL!!
I can confirm that these cookies turned out great! I used half and half, and subbed about a third of the liquid volume for boiled down Kraken rum. And in the end I added half a splash of half and half, and half a splash of the rum. They set up perfectly, and now they have a nice rummy under tone. This was a really great recipe. Thanks!
I made a second batch and didn't boil the rum first. I only used 2/3 cup half and half, and a half cup of Kraken rum. And in the end I splashed with half and half and a little bit of rum again. 🤌🤌🤌
I made them vegan and refined sugar free. I added more cocoa powder and cut the sugar a bit. I put coconut on top. OMG. These are so gooey. I love them. Thank you so much.
Oh my god yessssss I remember these! I used to make them in high school! I love u I'm your biggest fan, your voice is so soothing I listen to it before I sleep cus it's so relaxing and I love love it. Love you and ur recipes♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I remember these. We still make them as part of our Christmas cookies. We don’t care for the frou frou things like window pane sugar cookies. These. Chocolate Chip, oatmeal (with cinnamon baking chips instead of raisins) and other drop cookies faves op are our idea of holiday cookies.
THE COOKIES LOOK DELICIOUS. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR RECIPES. MAY GOD BLESSINGS,COURAGE AND STRENGTH CONTINUE TO BE WITH YOUR FAMILY ALWAYS 🙂💖🙏🙏🙏🍪🍪🍪🍪🥛
I learned a recipe like this in highschool minus the peanut butter and add shredded coconut. Soooo good. Only recipe from back then I'll still go back to.
I made these and they were way too sweet (2 cups of sugar, eek!) The event I brought them to, the feedback was that a lot of people thought it was too sweet as well. HOWEVER, the texture was perfect and fudgy and that part was a win. Next time I make this recipe, I am just going to cut down on the sugar. Thank you for sharing this.
These look amazing. I'd love to try these one day. No bake desserts are awesome! Thanks Divas! I do have a question. What would you say is a good substitute for the peanut butter? 😋😊
If you really don't want any nut butter, although I think pistachio butter would be great, you can try dulce de leche or sweetened condensed milk but keep in mind that the texture will be different
I've been making a noobie cookies my entire life. It is my all-time favorite cookie. Never heard of adding cream of tartar. I'm going to give it a try assuming you know what you're talking about girl lol. I also never heard about adding milk but I also try that. Do you think that adding a natural peanut butter, Jif brand, but natural, would make a huge difference towards the bad direction or it would be fine?
Mine burned and got instantly hard once I added the PB, and couldn’t add the oats. I’ll try again tomorrow. I set timer for 2 mins, once it was rolling & at 235 - tb
Would you say you followed the recipe other than the peanut butter? We're a no peanut butter house and I was wondering if it could be don't without the pb.
This is still my go to recipe for no bakes. I add a little splash of Kraken rum at the end with the milk. 🤌🤌 I'm adding rum and orange extract this year as well.
I am an old lady and I think you are absolutely adorable 🥰. Honey you are never to old to learn new takes on an old recipe from a young chick. I have one minor correction…it’s spelled tartar…but it’s pronounced tarter. Pronounced the same as the yucky buildup on on your teeth. But honey, as beautiful and personable and natural as you are on camera, I can guarantee no one even noticed. You keep being fabulous! You keep pushing for the top girl! You can do it!! ❤️

Finally a good use for those darn quick cooking oats and cream of tartar I once bought and never used. Can't wait to try these!😊

I loved those but Little Debbie products are too sweet even for my lifelong sweet tooth. Might look for a homemade version of Star Crunch.
That's exactly what it looks like to me
@msr1116 I have a major sweet tooth too and I actually don't think they're sweet enough

Me too!! Some of the best home cooked food. Those lunch ladies fed the nation and a few of them like second mothers.
Wow that must’ve been nice😭 I always brought food from home because the school lunches were so heavily processed and gross
Welcome back 🙏🏾 Miss all your cooking 🥘 and recipe

No bake cookies in the summertime sounds like a plan! I love no bake desserts especially cheesecakes 😋

Monique, your no bake cookies are well done.
I made them vegan and refined sugar free. I added more cocoa powder and cut the sugar a bit. I put coconut on top.
OMG. These are so gooey. I love them. Thank you so much.
I've made a healthier version before using monk fruit to sweeten it and I used coconut flakes and a few pumpkin seeds instead of the oats.
These looks so delicious 🤤
I use condensed milk in mine. It makes it yummier

I loved eating these at lunch time in school, memories 🥰😋 went so good with that cold carton of milk!
That cold carton of milk. Wasn’t that the bomb with these cookies! Yum!
I loved these as a kid 😍

Do these taste like the star crunch jawns? They look like them. I have a ton of oats. I need to make these!

That looks delicious. Oh my!
This was on junior master chef. So since this is the second time I’m seeing it I’ll take it as a sign I need to make them 😀

Thanks for these cookies, they look yummy.❤🙏🏽
Notification gang happy Sunday
These look just like my mom's, hoping they taste as good when i get around to making em. Subscribed :)
Love these delicious cookies!
Girl I was wondering when you gonna post the cookie looks good as usual.
Also, the splash of milk at the end is crucial to thin out the mixture for portioning out the cookies.
Can you please make a recipe on how to make "Chooclate Fudgy Brownies"??
Hey Monique do we have to use peanut butter? What about biscoff cookie butter or Nutella. I HATE the taste of peanuts(pb)🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️🤦🏿♀️
Love this idea! Someone also suggested shredded coconut instead of peanut butter
@@msruthm.2324 cool thanks. Wonder if it would be 1:1 or something else. Going to try, EXCITED!
Hello ma'am i am biggest fan of your cooking and your baking I am from Pakistan .
Do you have a recipe for one that doesnt have chocolate in it?
I about DIED at you saying we'll feel like a horse eating the old fashioned oats ahaha. God love you you are hilarious and bring such good recipes
She's so funny.
Yes ma'am MEMORIES 👏🏾 🙌🏽
These look amazing. I'd love to try these one day. No bake desserts are awesome! Thanks Divas! I do have a question. What would you say is a good substitute for the peanut butter? 😋😊
Thank you! Hmmm...I've never tried these without peanut butter or with a peanut butter substitute so I couldn't say with certainty
@@divascancook oh alright, that's fine. I'll try to look for something. Nonetheless, the cookies look outstanding 👌😊 😋
Almond butter! There are a lot of nut butters nowadays. Even seed butter, like sunflower seed butter.
@@beautymariely oh great. Thanks! Sounds good 😄
If you really don't want any nut butter, although I think pistachio butter would be great, you can try dulce de leche or sweetened condensed milk but keep in mind that the texture will be different
Can these be done as a bar cookie?
Sure can!
Yass! 🙌🏿
What can I use instead of cream of tartar?
I ran......💋💃🍽
Can these cookies be mailed and be good
I've been making a noobie cookies my entire life.
I've used the no sugar added peanut butter and it's fine.
No measurements?
2 quick things: you need to add salt and the cream of tartar doesn't break down the sugar, it just acts as a binder/thickener.
Wrong. The cream of tartar breaks sucrose into glucose and fructose. It does break down sugar.
I don't know if it's me but I can't find the measurements
If you check her website the recipe is on there.
Were is you Recipe for the no bake cookies you show the ingredients but you don’t show how much could you please send me the recipe thank you
It's in the description and you can also visit her website and pull up her recipes that way.
Cant eat chocolate😭 any alternatives?
They look like star crunches
Mmmmm I never heard or had these before. I'm on a very low carb diet 😅
OMG!! You've got to try them. I thought it was bad luck to diet in May?😜
If anyone is reading this what can I do if I don't want to used 2 cups of sugar can you use less sugar?
What section of the grocery store is Cream of Tartar found?
its over where there is the seasoning Isle right next to the food coloring.
🤗
I love your recipes, but.... I failed making these cookies. They came out crumbly. Not sure, what I did wrong?
Mine burned and got instantly hard once I added the PB, and couldn’t add the oats.
I’ll try again tomorrow.
I set timer for 2 mins, once it was rolling & at 235 - tb
Hi Monique
Where is the amounts of each ingredient.. I’ve looked and can see the ingredients but no measurements.. 🙃 These look delicious!
She pinned the printable recipe in the comments(I Deffinately want to try too!)
@@aegisabyss1817 I couldn’t find it ☹️
Did I miss the amounts of sugar, oatmeal, peanut butter, ect????? You can't just dump in the ingredients without measuring
Yup, no measurements
I used to make this recipe in 4th grade for my stars group. No peanut butter for obvious reasons.
Would you say you followed the recipe other than the peanut butter? We're a no peanut butter house and I was wondering if it could be don't without the pb.
Evaporated milk tastes better than whole milk in no bake cookies
You feel the grain of the hot sugar? I did that once and saw our Heavenly Father! I burnt myself really badly
This is still my go to recipe for no bakes. I add a little splash of Kraken rum at the end with the milk. 🤌🤌
I'm adding rum and orange extract this year as well.
