I can’t believe how easy Rory gives in into Logan’s shenanigans. I mean he’s stealing from her grandparents house and she’s like “Logan no” and then she looks amused, is just stupid.

She's young and dumb and in love, that's why.

Rory has no personality. She never had. Well, maybe except season one, when she was the perfect I-don't-give-a-F-about-shallow stuff introvert.
Then her mother introduced her to her grandparents and that was the biggest mistake. Now she wears pretty dresses and talks with a high pitched baby voice and lets her rich boyfriends get away with stealing from her grandparents. She also lost her sarcastic side. The side that would have made fun of boys like Logan.

Logan has gotten so many maid fired will that little prank im sure of it.
Also, Loralie's joke about her mom being hired for a job in Cape Cod is hilarious forshadowing 💕

I loved seeing Logan cringe under Lorelai's judgment at the table over the sewing box. The fact that he just goes to people's homes and swipe their stuff is just juvenile and gross. It would be one thing if he was a stupid teenager, but he's in his 20's doing this. And he doesnt know if these things are people's family heirlooms or something they hold dear, not to mention, he could've just cost that poor maid her job. I am more warmed up to Logan as the series went on, but this was not his finest of scenes.

This dinner proves why Rory’s grandparents and Logan add more of her downfall than her uplifting side

    • @janise01

I think her being raised to think she's perfect and never facing any true criticism or hardship so she fell apart at the first bit of criticism (which for all the production about it wasn't even that bad) is the main factor in her downfall.
That and her mom, who was supposedly so close with her, cut her off and refused to even talk the second she did something that made her anything less than Lorelei's "perfect daughter".
Was Logan immature? Yes. Could the grandparents have talked to Lorelei first before allowing Rory to move in so she wasn't blindsided? Yes. However at least they were there for Rory and for the most part tried to talk to her about her future and Yale while also being there for her in the moment and doing what they thought she needed based on what she said instead of their image of her.

@janise01 yea the truth is all these characters are pretty flawed human beings. The grandparents did some pretty despicable things on this show. And Rory has a constant descent from about season 4 onwards and the revival show makes her look even worse.

Think about what Lorelai said to Emily after the break-up with Luke. She told Emily “we are done” and when Emily came to Stars Hollows and was in Luke’s diner, she said “Why don’t you do everyone a favor and shut up?” which made it clear that she didn’t want to talk to Emily, so she left her alone. Then she calls out of the blue to let Emily know she’ll be attending the friday night dinner. Obviously Emily was going to be cold towards her after all that had happened before, but Lorelai decided to just show up because Logan was there. She couldn’t have really thought Emily would be nice to her after all that.

@@laysapparelwhy wouldn't Emily be nice to Lorelei? She was in the wrong from the very beginning, she broke L and Luke up for no other reason than her snobbery, she came to the diner to scream in Luke's face and now she treats Lorelei like trash because she is butthurt that Lorelei has boundaries and wouldn't let her mother rule her life. Emily acts like a narcissist and she should at least be more courteous to her around Logan, since Emily wanted to impress him.
Horrid character. But entertaining. Kelly Bishop's acting is flawless.

You and me both, Haley! I just hate the way they messed with his character later in the series. Dean was true-blue for Rory. He Never would have done the whole crazy wedding-cheat ordeal. I believe he would have doubled down for her. Enlisted some guidance from her mom even---Logan did the same thing later as I recall. But the writers never truly intended on there being a happy ever-after. I read up on Ms.Pallidino and she said just as much in some Interview! Like what's the point of even building us all up and lifting our spirits with each wonderful episode to then just turn every character on their head and have our main protagonists left in a miserable place in their lives?!

@Haleycarol and?? Jess had his own issues and needed to get them sorted out and was not ready to be in a relationship with Rory, despite him trying to be. Did he handle it the best and mature way? No. He was a kid and Rory was not that mature herself. But he knows Rory better than she knows herself and it was him who got her head out her ass and back into school, though I disagreed when she tried to put it on Logan. She made her own damn decisions.

All the men in Rory's life are just caricatures. Dean is the caricature of the perfect first boyfriend turned redneck, Jess is the bad boy and Logan is a combination of Jess and Tristain. They're all so unidimensional.
