“This isn’t right, she needs her father”. A laughable comment from a man child who was never a constant in his daughters life.

its so funny that so many people believe, lorelai not marrying christopher, stopped chris from being a father, he knew where she was living, he could have always showed up, but he didn't. Did Lorelai stop him from coming, no she always supported him to come to see their daughter, he just didn't do it.

    One of Emily's finest moments.

This scene showed so much. It showed us how Christopher was still immature, irresponsible, and lacked accountability. It showed the bond between all the Gilmore Women as well.

Lorelei was too... always time jumping from one man to another, hurting christopher, keeping Rory from Christopher, etc

@@Lisa07-sshe literally didn’t keep Rory from Christopher lol they cover that in this very video. That was Rory’s choice.

i wish lorelai didn't go after him after emily kicked him out. she was always chasing him and giving him chances when he didn't deserve it. for once, he should've chased her.

But that wasn't about her; that was about Rory. And it really showed her maturity that she was willing to give him that advice not for herself, but for their daughter who did deserve to have her father around if/when she needed him.

I cry cause I truly believe Lorelai was the best character of them all and never got the love she deserved. Rory almost never stood up for her and was often ungrateful, her parents never understood or supported her properly and Christopher didn't even seem to realize that even though they weren't married he CHOSE to not be there for 16 years.

This part was always sad with Rory having to deal with the disappointment of Chris having to go back on his word.

I also loved this scene where Emily steps in realizing that no matter how much she wants Chris and Lorelai to be together it just can’t happen - at least not now.
But you could tell that she still accepted Chris as she kindly asked him to leave. Sure, part of that was “miss manners” and I’m sure that if Chris kept pestering she would increased her emotion… but it felt like they wanted you to see that Emily did appreciate Chris to certain point… at least that’s what I pulled from that small scene.
This whole clip was a tough scene for sure… but I’m glad that put it in because there had to be separation and a time to just let things take their course.

Good lord this man is whiny.
"But I don't wanna marry my girlfriend whom I got pregnant and proposed to 😢!!!"
"The daughter that I never see or bother spending time with is mad at me now and its all your fault 😫!!!"
My god dude, get a grip. Lorelei dodged a bullet by not marrying them when they were teens. He's even more immature and emotionally stunted than she is.

They had great chemistry whether fighting, being friends or lovers, more than her and Luke ever had. As a couple Luke and Lorelai were boring.

I hate that the show portrayed Christopher as the bad guy. He was willing to marry Lorelai when they were 16 but she refused than ran away. He stayed in the only world he knew and despite being a rich kid with a trust fund, he disappoints poor little Rory because he can't even afford to buy her the giant dictionary she craves. Then because he stands by his new pregnant girlfriend, that somehow makes him wrong again? No, it doesn't and I am glad Richard understood what a stand up guy Christopher was because ASP was very heavy handed in painting him as an irresponsible absentee father.

He abandoned Rory. He knew where they were the whole time and barely made any efforts to be a father. Lorelai wasn't ready for marriage but she still wanted Christopher to be there for Rory but he dipped.

I don’t hate Chris as much as other people do because I feel as though he learnt his lesson at the end. He ended up becoming a single parent and learning how difficult it was.
Lorelai wasn’t making Christopher out to be a bad guy here - she told him it hurts to talk to him because they can’t be together. Rory did but it’s understandable given the amount of false promises she’s had to deal with.
